Message from the Co-Chairs
Raleigh, Wake County and the Triangle Region are known
for collaborating effectively to bring about tangible
results for our communities. Effective collaboration does
not happen by accident. It is intentional and requires the
dedication of business, government and civic leaders like
you. Since its establishment in 1995, The Greater Raleigh
Chamber of Commerce’s Competitive Edge initiative has
spearheaded economic development for Raleigh, Wake
County and the Research Triangle. Edge has generated
significant returns and impact for the region, including:
To achieve the goals of Edge 5, we have embarked on
an aggressive, five-year program to invest $12 million in
five key pillars: Regional Competitiveness & Cooperation;
Marketing & Public Relations, New Business Attraction
& Job Creation; Existing Industry Support, Innovation
& Entrepreneurship; Talent Attraction & Development;
and Quality of Place & Sustainability. The result of this
investment will be the creation of a minimum of 100,000
jobs in the region with more than 65,000 of these in Wake
County with an associated annual income of over $5 billion.

with regulatory issues, incentives, workforce training,
talent attraction and site location
