The most rewarding experience he has had with the guys that he supports has been the feedback overall. He loves to see them smile and be happy. Being able to feel those moments that made a difference for the guys is rewarding! Marquis’s favorite aspect about the guys he works with is that he is their mentor in a way. He enjoys assisting them with their tasks and with their thoughts, but also leaving room for their own individuality to shine through. One word that describes his advocating style is “altruistic.” A fun fact about Marquis is that he has never pet a cat! Thank you for being a shining light for the guys you support, Marquis! We appreciate you! Patricia Crowner Patricia started working for Langton Green in April of 2014. Langton Green is a 501(c)3 organization that provides residential and vocational opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities. For services provided to each person in our program, we receive a per diem from the Developmental Disability Administration (DDA). This funding covers our basic operational expenses but does not allow for supplemental program development that can only be afforded through our fundraising efforts. We need community support to truly enable us to grow and meet the increasing demand for our services. WHY SUPPORT LGI? We have asked these two questions of our donors: “Why Langton?” and “What does it mean to you to support an agency like ours?” The overwhelming response to both questions is that Langton Green - whether through residential supports or Langton Green Community Farm - helps people live full lives with purpose and promotes a quality of life that would not be achieved without the support and services we provide. HOW TO SUPPORT LGI? Make a monetary gift. DDA funding allows us to provide the basics, but it is through your generous financial support to our Annual Fund that we are able to develop and advance our program. Join us for our annual Farm Festivals each summer and fall. Come out and be a volunteer. Enjoy a personally rewarding experience serving on a committee or on the Board of Directors to help foster new relationships and bring necessary resources to strengthen our future. Take advantage of various online fund-raising opportunities such as iGive and Amazon Smile (as Matt at right is encouraging!). We’ll update you with new opportunities. WHERE DO I START? For more information about supporting LGI, contact Development Manager Cristina De Avila at 410-269-1019 ext. 20 or email her at cdeavila@langtongreen.org. Donation information is also on the web site at http://langtongreen.org/donate/.
