We’re sending this January issue of our
Newsletter early to remind you about two
things: New Year’s Eve & NEW YEAR’S DAY
New Year’s Eve reservations are still
being accepted. We will be serving dinner
anytime after 5:00 pm. and will take the last
order at 9:00 pm. We are featuring our
delicious regular menu as well as some
celebratory items. We think it’s the
perfect place to have dinner
before watching the Ball come
down in Times Square or heading to the party that doesn’t
begin until 10!
YES, WE ARE OPEN ON
NEW YEAR’S DAY!
Between 9 am and 2 pm you can celebrate the New
Year with what our regulars (and the BEST OF Show on
the Food Network) call the Best Breakfast --and Bloody
Marys -- in Chicago! I’ll add some special dishes to the
menu like Gingerbread Pancakes with Lemon Cream,
Cheese Blintzes with Sour Cream, Crab Cake with Eggs
and Steak and Eggs.

MEDIA ALERT:
Karen Meyer of Channel 7 was here to do an interview
with me. You can see it on Sunday morning, January
18th at 8:20am. You might be surprised at the content.
Tune in.
SAVE THE DATE:
Each year, on one day, a special reading of Eve Ensler’s
play “The Vagina Monologues” takes place nationwide.
Charities that focus on preventing violence against
women and children are the beneficiaries of the
evening’s proceeds. February 18th is “V-DAY” and I will
be joining Nesita Kwan, Cheryl Corley, Amanda Puck
and many more fabulous women for a reading of this
important work.
Save the date and join us at the Park West. You will find
information at INA’S or call Tracy at the Aids Foundation
— 312.922.2322 ext. 366 — for tickets.

MOON GLOW
On January 7th at 9:40 am, we will see the Full Wolf
Moon named because amid the cold and deep snows of
midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside the
Native American villages.
WINTER DELIGHTS.....
...is Chicago’s promotion to encourage travel in your own
backyard as well as tourism. We are part of the festivities during a week-end called ‘STIR IT UP’. On Saturday,
January 10th, I will be teaching a class at INA’S which
will be followed by lunch. The cost is $40 and reservations are limited.
For more information on Winter Delights, log on to
www.877chicago.com or call 1-877-Chicago. There are
lots of activities and discounts all around our great city!
WE CAN’T END THIS YEAR...
...without some “Thank You’s”.
First to our extraordinary customers. You are the most
welcome guests in our ‘home’ and we appreciate you
more than we can say. Many of you have heard me say
that every restaurant owner’s dream is to open the door
and pray that someone walks through it. Surely our
prayers are answered each time we see a familiar smile
and a new one. Thank you.
Next to our honorable, loyal vendors who stick by us no
I will also be teaching a class at Fox & Obel on Tuesday, matter how rocky the road sometimes. Robin’s Food

Distribution, Charles McRae, MT Dairy, Red Hen Bakery,
Nicole’s Bakery, Heartland Meats, Cougle, Roberts,
Amy’s Sausages, Leon’s, Paulina Market, Maloney
Cunningham and Ciao Bella. Thank you.
And then to our hardworking staff. I can teach good
service but gracious hospitality is something one has to
bring with them. And they all do, both in front and in
the back of the house. Sometimes I wish I could take all
the customers into the kitchen so they could experience
our peaceful kitchen with everyone taking great pride in
the food they cook and plate. An enormous ‘Thank You’
to all of them.
And the last thought is our wish for a year of peace,
good health, prosperity and laughter for us all.
