Being Green Can Save
You Green
There are many ways
you can save money
while also helping
the environment!
Here are some quick
tips to help keep cash
in your wallet this
spring.
1. Purchase a smart power strip to save electricity and
money. Visit bitsltd.com for more information.
2. Repair any leaking faucets immediately to avoid
wasting water.
3. Unplug the toaster, coffee maker, hair dryer, electric
toothbrush, cell phone chargers, etc. when they are not
in use. Experts say over 40% of the power you are
using is from plugged in appliances that are not being
used.
4. Run your dishwasher and washing machine only
when completely full.
5. Wash your clothes in cold water. It’s easier on your
clothing and saves the energy used for heating water.
6. Clean out your dryer lint trap each time you dry a
load of clothing. The dryer will perform more efficiently and you will also avoid a potential fire hazard.
Spring
Forward!
Daylight savings time is
Sunday, March 13th. Be
sure to set your clocks
forward one hour.
This is also a great time
to check the batteries in
your smoke &
CO detectors.
7. Turn the water off when brushing your teeth or soaping your face at the sink.
8. Set your thermostat to 74 or 76 degrees during warmer months. Closing blinds and curtains during the summer months helps keep your home cooler.
9. Change your air filters monthly for optimum performance and energy savings.
