Conceived in the winter of 2013 by Singer-Songwriter Zak Kendall and cellist Seth Wegner, it wasn’t long before they joined forces with Kendall’s sister Lena, whose voice blends with the hum of the cello and guitar to create a sound that resonates deep within. More recently, they have teamed up with their good friend Eloise Schultz, who Zak and Seth met while studying at College of the Atlantic, and who gives their songs yet another set of layers with her soaring trumpet and vocal harmonies. SeepeopleS has been steadfastly releasing critically-acclaimed indie rock albums and touring for over fifteen years. Led by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Will Bradford, the band’s music has traveled around the world, even landing on network television (ABC’s The Gates and CBS’s Judging Amy). They call their music anti-genre: elements of pop, classic rock, hip hop, electronica and more gel into a wholly new sound. SeepeopleS has played over 1,000 live events and utilizes an eclectic array of guest musicians (members of Morphine, Dave Matthews Band, Spearhead and Parliament Funkadelic) on their five studio albums. A solid live act from the start, music fans really began to take notice with their breakthrough LP, Waging the Wage (2006), which showcased not only leader/namesake Dominic Lavoie’s vocals but his uniquely classic songwriting and a dynamite rhythm section, comprised of Nathan Cyr(bass) and Charles Gagne (drums). With the addition of guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Scott Mohler and Justin Wiley on keyboards, a fresh batch of songs and a renewed energy, Dominic and The Lucid spent the first half of 2015 recording their new release, Ferret. Having released three full-length records SOCIOPATH, VOLUNTEER, HYPOCRITE - in as many years, the FREEZE has established itself as a go-to for high quality genre-hopping, custom crafted for the disaffected. Their debut album, Fresh From the Woods (live) was recently hailed by the BDN as “a striking, exciting debut from three very talented, dynamic women, who represent much of what’s best about rural Maine.” Hailing from Portland, Maine, Whale Oil is a power trio to the fullest extent. With influences ranging from The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith to Waylon Jennings and Chet Atkins, Whale Oil bridges the gap between Alt-Country and good old Rock & Roll. Whale Oil’s new EP “Liquid Courage” enunciates the band’s diverse influences while still establishing their signature “barn rock” sound. Ross and his band, Chris Ross and the North, released their album “Young Once” in 2015, to critical acclaim. Their music lives comfortably in the space between Americana, Rock, and Country. Jeff Beam is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter from Portland, Maine. He writes, performs, records, & releases melodic music tinged with experimental kaleidoscopic soundscapes, inspired by the likes of Olivia Tremor Control, Elliott Smith, Deerhunter, & Spoon. His recordings are a one-man odyssey; his live shows revolve around an energetic band of his good friends. His lyrics contain observations on humanity, existence, perception, and the attempt to find inner peace amidst a tumultuous outer world. They’re set to release their second full length album this in June 2016. Born on the banks of the Saco River, brothers in all but name, the Ghost of Paul Revere is Maine’s holler-folk band. With a sound built around powerful three-part harmonies, energetic performances, and a non-traditional way of interpreting traditional American music, their songs have unique identities while still remaining undeniably the Ghost of Paul Revere.
