calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once
the Latin and World rhythms take over,
you’ll see why Zumba® Fitness classes
are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check

muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of
awesome each time you leave class. No

Many sessions offered for emergency
preparedness focus on families - not
this session. This session is specific
for Seniors focusing on challenges they
may face when preparing for emergencies or disasters. We have all witnessed
the recent earthquakes in Japan & New
Zealand and have seen the devastation
caused. Living in Vancouver, we too
could be faced with an earthquake yet few of us take the steps to ensure
we are prepared. This session will ensure you and your pets are prepared.
It covers what is required to develop
your emergency plan, how to conduct a
Hazard Hunt and what to do when an
earthquake strikes when you live in an
apartment or strata

The Champlain Community Association
is looking for new members.
Champlain Heights Community Association is looking for community-minded individuals to join the Board of Directors and
help us make this a great neighbourhood.
The board is a group of dedicated volunteers who oversees both programming and budgeting at Champlain Heights Community Centre and Champlain Heights Community School – we also have stewardship of Everett Crowley Park.
Community centres in Vancouver are jointly managed by civic government, through the Park Board, and the community
associations, and are governed by a Joint Operating Agreement.

Over the past few months, the association has supported the Lupii Community Dinner, the Pacific Immigrant Resource
Society and this spring will be giving out two scholarships to Killarney Secondary graduates. This support is made possible
by your participation in community centre programs.

Our Everett Crowley Park Committee (ECPC) actively monitors the fifth largest park in Vancouver. Last year alone, ECPC
planted 100 new plants, provided by the City, in the Butterfly Garden and hosted the Everett Crowley Earth Day event
which saw approximately 700 new trees and shrubs planted in the park.
Champlain Heights Board and Program meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month starting at 5:30 p.m. ECPC
meets on the first Thursday of the month at 10:30 a.m. You are welcome to join the meetings.
For more information, contact the board at champlaincc@vancouver.ca.
