Liz Davenport - Fashion Designer
Business woman, eco-campaigner, fashion designer, mother, wife and philanthropist – it’s difficult to settle for one mantle
when it comes to Liz Davenport. In the fickle world of fashion, she has remained a stalwart.
And if you think she is slowing down any time soon, think again. “Retirement? Who ever heard of the word!” she laughs.
Liz’s motivational presentation touches upon the courage that is needed to do anything in our lives that is out of the ordinary,
as well as how to achieve a balance of business and family and what makes people have such conviction to succeed and
why.

Turning adversity into opportunity
Leonie Gully - Founder & Creator of Moon Haven in Cowaramup (Margaret River)
Like many small business owners, Leonie has many titles. Managing Director, Formulator, Creator, Marketer and Consultant.
Leonie will share her business story that began when a serious health issue turned adversity into opportunity and in the
process she became healthier and happier. Together with her late husband Eric they developed a product to ease her
suffering that became the core of Moon Haven and expanded to a full range of ‘handcrafted soaps, lotions and potions’.
Leonie has recovered from personal tragedy and the business has recovered from a devastating fire which wiped out their
entire manufacturing facility and wholesale business. They lost everything. The fire not only affected their business but also
the business of their retailers, staff and the surrounding community.
Overcoming adversity with a positive attitude, Leonie’s mission is to help put the natural and joyful back into your life.

The joys and challenges of being a leader in the Australian Defence Force
Lieutenant-Commander Alexandra Turner – State Manager WA, Defence Reserve Support
Alex joined the Navy straight from high school and graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in 1991,
completing a BA with Honours in 1992. She subsequently became a Seaman Officer, responsible to the Commanding Officer
for the control and safety, at sea and alongside of, the ships in which she served. She was amongst the vanguard of women to
serve on Australian warships. After deciding that her interests lay elsewhere, she moved to a career in Defence intelligence.
Alex will share some of her experiences of being a woman and a leader in the Navy, including being a cadet in the early days of
the ADFA and being in the vanguard of women to serve in Australian warships. She will also discuss her favourite topic: the joys
and challenges of being a modern working woman.
Married with children, Alex has a lot of interests outside work, and is desperately trying to find the elusive work-life balance.
