We have some fantastic and interesting cars here today and our thanks
go to the owners who bring their precious vehicles out for us all to enjoy,
without them there wouldn’t be a show. Some are very rare and others
are ‘old friends’ who have been in the same family for years.
Please enjoy the day and come and visit us in the
HQ tent. Don’t forget to look at our website after
the show, we will put links to photographs of the day
and you can check your lucky programme number

Baking
Bake-off is back. For the second year we are running our fun
baking competition.
Baking has become popular again and in keeping with our ‘traditional
fete’ we are delighted to offer this fun challenge to make any large cake
you fancy, decorated however you like. Children under 16 have to make four
cupcakes. The judging criteria is just that they look and taste good.
We are very excited to have Kenwood onboard to sponsor the
competition and they have very generously offered a Kenwood K-mix
stand mixer RRP £399.99 as first prize in the adult competition. Waitrose
have also given a prize of a ‘goody bag’ of baking ingredients and the
Creative Cookie Company have offered a stencil Decorating Starter Kit as
first prize for the kids.
Judging starts at 1pm and we have an interesting judging panel lined up
for the difficult task of sampling all those cakes!
If you fancy trying the entries, after the judging many of the cakes will be
available for you to buy at the WI Teas.
No drudgery for her – no dull meals for him – there’s a KENWOOD ‘CHEF’ in the kitchen!
It does all the hard work of food preparation, turns complicated recipes into easy everyday
delights, makes exciting new drinks and dishes that used never to be possible at home. Peeling,
mixing, slicing, mincing, beating, shedding, juice separating, can opening – it’s all done in
a moment electrically, and far better than by hand. Look at the list of attachments (many of
them have several uses) and you’ll realise that the 1953 housewife simply cannot do without a
KENWOOD ‘CHEF’, the world’s most versatile Food Mixer. Appointed electrical dealers and
department stores stock the ‘CHEF’ and attractive easy terms are available.
You can buy her a Kenwood ‘Chef ’ for an
initial payment of only £3.15.0 and eight
monthly payments of £3.15.0. Cash price
£31.8.0. Price valid until 1954.
Mixing Bowl, taking 6 lbs. of mixture,
K Beater, Whisk and Dough Hook
are included with every Kenwood
‘Chef’ as well as Plastic Dust Cover,

Fun
A fun day for everybody...
As well as the cars there are lots of
activities for the whole family. The WI are
doing Cream Teas and you can listen to (or
dance to!) The George Regis Jazz Band who will be playing a selection of
traditional New Orleans marches, conventional ‘trad’ and 1920’s tunes. The
band, a popular feature at the show, will, weather permitting, wander amongst
the cars entertaining you in style. www.georgesregisjazzband.com
For the kids there are some rides and a bouncy Galleon to play on and local
charities will be running traditional style fete activities to amuse.
Around the perimeter of the Green there are a great selection of stalls selling
local produce, crafts, art, vintage and classic car related goods, so lots of
opportunities for shopping, plus hot and cold food and then why not relax with
a drink in the Festival Bar. Next to the bar the Haslemere Fringe Festival will
be selling tickets for the 2014 Fringe to be held on the Green on the 4-6 July.
