If your son or daughter is interested in becoming involved, please ask them not to hesitate to talk to one of the boys, or to me as soon as possible. The Youth Council meets regularly to discuss Waverley-wide youth issues and is also involved in deciding where youth funds are spent. Mrs De la Cruz, Pupil Voice Co-ordinator SAFEGUARDING YOUR CHILD Are you concerned about the dangers of the internet, social networking or cyber bullying? We are very fortunate to have Mark Williams-Thomas as a parent, who is an expert in the field of child protection and safeguarding. You may have seen him on several high profile television programmes covering this subject. He has kindly offered to come into school to run a session for both Woolmer Hill parents and those from our feeder schools during the summer term. The date will be confirmed before Easter. Mrs S. Bullen, Headteacher, headspa@woolmerhill.surrey.sch.uk Woolmer Hill, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 1QB. Woolmer Hill’s success has come to the notice of several secondary schools in the area and we have provided advice to schools stretching from Guildford and Cranleigh to Farnham and Farncombe. A plea - please look around you child’s bookcase. We have a large number of overdue books and it would be great to get those errant books back into circulation. Thank you. Mrs J Maclean, School Librarian TESCO VOUCHERS The Tesco voucher scheme will be starting again from 12 March 2012 and we will be collecting them as usual. Every single one is important so please make sure they all find their way into school. STAYING WARM During this cold weather it is important that all pupils are wrapped up warm on their way to and from school and outside at break times. Coats, hats, scarves and gloves can be worn at these times, but must be removed when pupils are in the buildings and should not be worn in lessons. Some pupils may also need to wear warm boots on their journey, which should then be changed on arrival. As in many schools which hold high standards, hoodies are not allowed as they do not look smart with a school uniform. Pupils have been reminded that hoodies will be confiscated. Together we can make sure that our pupils stay warm and healthy and still arrive at school in a frame of mind to learn, whilst ensuring that we have a smart reputation to be proud of. Mr K Doherty, Assistant Head, kdoherty@woolmerhill.surrey.sch.uk HEAD LICE There is an outbreak of head lice among some of our pupils. Please check your children’s hair regularly and treat accordingly. Thank you. Ms M Chandler, Pupil Support & Guidance SAINSBURYS ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS Active Kids vouchers will be available from 15 February and we will be collecting them. Please send any vouchers into school as normal.
