Coast Hwy. #208 949.376.7077 PacificBlueYoga.com May 26 - June 15, 2016 ARIES (March 21 – April 19) Charging forward in order to make a relationship happen will not bring you romantic satisfaction. Mental intimacy is what you are searching for and it is likely right under your horns. TAURUS (April 20 – May 20) Cut the bull with the money matters, and your finances will increase. Expect to see possible new ways to bring in extra income. GEMINI (May 21 – June 20) There’s double trouble when it comes to your personal life, but you make up for it by being extra lucky when it comes to your career. The Law of Compensation is working in your favor. CANCER (June 21 – July 22) If you feel like going underground, by all means do. You will come out feeling more enlightened than ever, ready for a true spiritual breakthrough. LEO (July 23 – August 22) You can put your claws away at work. Advances in position and money are almost guaranteed, as the groundwork was set in motion ages ago. VIRGO (August 23 – September 22) Seems as if everyone is pulling at you for your attention, but you need to take care of yourself first or you will feel yourself floundering. LIBRA (September 23 – October 22) Time to get practical and balance out your financial affairs. By creating a new budget, you will likely find that you already have more than you need. SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21) Unfortunately, you are going to have to crawl out of the gutter and start thinking of other things besides physical satisfaction. Your spiritual side could use some attention now. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21) It’s time to get back on target with your work. Family and home issues must be resolved so you can give your full attention to your next career move. CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19) Whether you are an old goat or not, married or single, love is about to take you by surprise. Romance is in the air. AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18) Going with the flow may not be the best course of action. Be prepared for a few stops and starts, especially concerning family affairs, before things run smoothly again. PISCES (February 19 – March 20) Instead of fishing for answers concerning your health, consult a doctor and make some real changes to your health regime. It’s now or never. Artwork by Bill Atkins adorns our cover for this year’s 9th Annual Fête de la Musique. The Fête de la Musique takes place Saturday June 18th from 1-4pm featuring 35 performers at 30 designated locations. Originating in France in 1982, The Fête was created by an American living in Paris who wished to celebrate music during the summer solstice free of charge to promote amateur and professional musicians. It has since grown to over 120 countries and 19 States in the U.S. Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association, a non-profit dedicated to providing art and cultural exchange for the betterment of the community, adopted the idea from our Sister City in Menton, France. The festivities begin on the Main Beach Cobblestones with an 18 piece Swing Band from 12:30-2:15pm where you can get your itinerary map. Closing ceremonies commence at 3:45pm at Main Beach with The Agave Brothers (formerly The Blues Offenders). The musical genres are diverse with instruments running the gamut. All adhere to required decibel levels! Check out the Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association on Facebook or LagunaBeachSisterCities.com closer to the event for the itinerary. Bicycling is a big part of Laguna’s lifestyle. Whether a visitor or resident, get out and explore our local trails with help from our friends at Laguna Cyclery. They offer rental bikes and all the extra gear you need to experience the world class trail riding at Top of the World & El Moro parks! To reserve your wheels call: (949) 494-1522. Don’t miss the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast to benefit our Laguna Exchange Club. Flapjacks will be served by our firefighters and police followed by a Memorial Day Ceremony at Monument Point and Patriotic Concert on the Main Beach Cobblestones. June 10th there’s the KX 93.5 Fundraiser “The Dinner Duel” and the Friendship Shelter’s “Happy Hour” at Marine Room Tavern. As always, the highly anticipated LBHS Spring Play “Almost, Maine” directed by Alexis Karol features over 20 student actors! Viva La Musica!! The film chronicles the 1960’s hippie counter-culture of Laguna Beach, recounting the movement of The Brotherhood of Mystic Arts World (1967-1970) Eternal Love and how their radical ideology affected Laguna Beach. The film’s title references mind-altering LSD The Brotherhood produced and distributed throughout Southern California. They saw themselves as peace loving hippies on a mission to turn the world onto “psychedelics” in hopes of bringing about self-discovery and social change. The film documents their campground in the canyon called “Dodge City”, the famed Mystic Arts World on S. Coast Hwy. and Main Beach. Tragically, one of the 8 principal members of The Brotherhood died during a psychedelic trip while the remaining 7 agreed to finally tell their stories to a relatively young OC filmmaker, William A. Kirkley. Cast members were on hand for a post-screening Q & A with some admitting to using LSD well into in their 70’s! A few of the elders from The Brotherhood even created a guidebook to taking psychedelics to “trip” safely. A simulated LSD trip was produced by interactive design company “Masters of Shapes” and musical score was created by Matt Costa whose radio show “Colored Glass Radio” can be heard on KX 93.5 FM on Tues. at 11pm and Thurs. at 5pm.
