ITI Group completes the sale of Multikino
Luxembourg, 01 October 2013 – International Trading and Investments Holdings S.A.
Luxembourg (“ITI”, “ITI Group”) announced that it completed the sale of Multikino S.A. (“Multikino”) to
Vue-Entertainment Ltd. (“Vue”). The ITI Group held an 86% interest in Multikino, with the remaining
14% held by Ares Management its long time venture partner in Multikino.
Multikino opened the first multiplex cinema in Poland in Poznan in 1998 and is today the
second largest multiplex cinema operator in Poland. Multikino operates a circuit of 28 cinemas with
231 screens across 22 Polish cities and 2 cinemas with 15 screens in the Baltics. Multikino is a
pioneer in the Polish cinema market being the first fully digital multiplex operator in Poland, having
successfully introduced alternative content to the market through the screening of music concerts,
sports, opera, theatre and other events. The entire Multikino circuit was fully digitalised in 2011.
Vue is a pan-European market leader and one of the largest cinema operators in the world.
Over the last three years, it has doubled the number of cinemas under its ownership from 70 to 146
and nearly doubled its screens from 678 to 1,321. In addition to Multikino, Vue acquired Apollo
Cineams in the UK in May 2012 and CinemaxX, Germany’s second largest operator in July 2012.
