THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN
Realize That God Loves You.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).
God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our
Personal Saviour.
The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Memory Verse- Romans 8:25
“But if we hope for that we see not,,
then do we with patience wait for it.”
Your
Leaders come in all shapes and sizes. It is

hard to look at someone’s physical qualities to
determine if they have leadership qualities.
Leadership has more to do with character and how a
person thinks and acts. Is a leader born or is a leader
made? Some are born with leadership potential but
we see God can mold people into great leaders.
Leaders are important in each
facet of our society. Everything rises

work to determine much about you.
Our actions speak louder than words.
Nehemiah is an incredible leader that I
aspire to be like. He did not merely sit down and
talk about all the problems in the world, he moved
into action to fix the problems. This separates the
leaders form all the followers. It is astounding to
see Nehemiah’s reaction to what he hears in 1:4.
His first move to action is prayer. He seeks God and
asks for specific requests. Read 2:1-16. Let’s see
what Nehemiah’s plan of action is.

A Patient Leader (1)
It is has been four months. What has Nehemiah
been doing all this time? He went about his daily
routines of work, family, house, and worship.
Nehemiah waits until God answers his prayer. You see,
Nehemiah was specific in prayer so he waits for a
specific answer. He prayed that God would give him
mercy from the king to leave work and resources to
get the job done.
There is a lot of truth revealed in the passing of
these four months. Nehemiah does not act on a whim
or an emotion. Why would this not be good to do? I
have seen many people make quick, rash decisions in
life only later to regret or change their mind again.
Nehemiah waits on God.
Read Proverbs 11:14, 15:22, and

leader is patience, praying, waiting on
God, and seeking counsel.
A Praying Leader (2-9)
The whole situation with the king came about
because of Nehemiah’s specific prayer. It was a direct
answer on an ordinary day at work. Nehemiah needed
favor from the king to leave work for a long period of
time and the resources to reconstruct the walls.
One day the king confronts Nehemiah. The
king sees that his face is sad and burdened. The whole
four months Nehemiah kept going about his daily
tasks as if nothing was going on in his heart. This day
his burden showed through. Nehemiah seizes the
moment and the opportunity.
Nehemiah prays before he answers the king
then requests exactly what he prayed God would
allow. The king grants his request for a leave of
absence from work and provides referral papers to get
the resources. The king also provided a security team

A Pursuing Leader (9-16)
It is one thing to talk about doing something
and another to move forward in action. Nehemiah
moves forward from hearing about the problem to
pursuing a fix for the problem. God has answered his
prayers and he now leaves the comforts of work and
home to travel to Jerusalem. He goes on a three day
survey trip to assess the situation. What is Nehemiah’s
tactic in verse twelve? “And I arose in the night, I and
some few men with me; neither told I any man what my
God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem”.
Is this the heroic actions of a

confidants with him.
This is an amazing truth we can learn from.
Nehemiah takes his time, contemplates, and prays
before he announces his plan. Nehemiah is not swayed
into an action by emotion or whim. Nehemiah is
persistent and knows what it takes to get the job done.
He waits until the time is right before releases his plan
and puts it into action. Nehemiah is a wise and
discerning leader.
