Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007 www.monterreyforum2007.org The city of Monterrey, under the auspices of the Government of the State of Nuevo Leon and the Federal Government of Mexico, picked up the baton from Barcelona in September 2004, to celebrate the second international event: the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007. Following along the lines of the Barcelona 2004 Forum, the showcase maintained the three key central themes-cultural diversity, sustainability and conditions for peace as well as its main formats: dialogues, exhibitions, artistic events, the peace camp... adding to and reinforcing its educational aspects and a concern for knowledge and science.
