Hat of an Elf 24 X 12 min. Youth program concept Inspired by the legend written by Régis Tremblay and Nadia Perron Presented by: Productions Dionysos inc. Presentation This daily show about the world of elves promises tons of fun! Especially since Santa’s nephew, MAGIC, will be hosting it all through December until the 23rd or 24th, not a day longer! Because all the elves have to help out with the big gift distribution on Christmas Eve. Magic is in charge of the mail. His job is to sort all the letters Santa gets from children around the world, and sometimes letters for the elves too. Magic is very knowledgeable and has invented all kinds of electronic gadgets to help him with his work. He wants to save time because he loves reading the stories kids have to tell in their letters. But he especially loves playing tricks with his other elf friends, which sometimes get them into a little trouble…but hat of an elf, don’t worry! Magic has plenty of tricks up his sleeve! The concept Hat of an Elf is an original concept combining live action and animation to fire up the imaginations of young viewers and entertain them. Set in Santa’s workshop, the show starts with Magic (played by actor David Noël) showing off his new invention (machine that makes chocolate chips, hot chocolate, etc.). But the running gag is that his invention never works as expected… And each day he leads the kids in a new craft project. All the energizing ideas are his inspiration for the workout of the day. The circusbased movements adapted for children are varied, accompanied by dynamic music, and most often end in laughter. Whew! Then for a little downtime, Magic reads letters and e-mails from kids and answers their questions about elves, a great opportunity to reveal some magical secrets about their world. And of course, he can’t help telling the story of the last time he saw his elf friends, the inseparable Orion, a thousand years old, his friend Elta, 999 years old, Flocon, the one who rebels against elf foreman Georgio, and of course Baby Lutin. The talented Magic also sings for his friends or has guest singers who are also elf fans. Example of an original song performed by David NOËL: www.netima.ca/chanson When Firmin talks about their adventures, the action transforms into short cartoons. They guffaw, chuckle, laugh and say: “Hat of an elf! See you tomorrow!” Timing Opening Santa’s workshop: Firmin presents the show Invention-gadget-demonstration Physical exercise – circus-based Mail sorting room – sound effects indicating the arrival of new letters : reading letters and answers about elf secrets Return to Santa’s workshop : The other elves play a trick on Firmin New song or story – cartoon Firmin ends the show Credits 15 sec 1 min 2 min 2 min 2.5 min 1 min 2 min 1 min 15 sec Concept written by: Chantal Bédard in collaboration with Denis Boivin and Nadia Perron. © Génie Lutin inc.
