A grassroots comedy about what it takes for a New Zealand
born Samoan to transform into a ‘real island guy.’
Adam ( Neil Amituanai ) is a 22 year old New Zealand born Samoan guy who falls for Mary ( Gloria Ofa Blake.) On a ‘chance’
encounter he learns that Mary only wants to go out with a ‘real
island guy’ - not a plastic one.
Adam realizes that to get rid of his ‘plastic’ ways and impress
Mary, he’ll have to travel to Samoa and have his cousins teach
him how to be a real island guy.
For some it’s a nostalgic trip back to the islands, and for others
a first time glimpse into true Samoan culture on the big screen.

RAMS does just that

with a thunderous 10 minute standing ovation at its premiere, Hákonarson effortlessly balances humour and pathos

“LAST PARADISE” has been dubbed “the greatest
story of adrenaline and innovation” - how a bunch
of young adventurers met in the wilderness and
pushed the limits of innovation to pioneer the modern
concept of extreme sports and adventure travel. For
physicist/film maker Clive Neeson the film has literally
been a lifetime in the making and that journey has
revealed major issues about our future and how we
will innovate the vital solutions for survival of our
civilisation.
Among the characters are AJ Hackett and Al Byrne
who take us on the journey of a lifetime to discover
virgin paradise in Noosa, Gold Coast, Bali, Mexico,
Europe, New Zealand and Africa during the 60’s and
70’s. They leave us with questions on our future and
the solutions. The 45 years of golden unseen footage
was restored by Peter Jackson’s team who discovered
it during a technical test when making “Lord of the
Rings” and declared it as “the best footage we have
seen”. The earth was scoured to find the very first to
the very best. Music legends like Cat Stevens personally came on board to provide a classic soundtrack for
the film.
David Gulpilil returns home with filmmaker Molly
Reynolds to explore “what happened to my culture
when it was interrupted by your culture”
ANOTHER COUNTRY is the new documentary
from celebrated Australian actor David Gulpilil and
his frequent collaborator Rolf De Heer (Charlie’s
Country). They are joined by director Molly Reynolds
for this insightful and inspiring new documentary.

earnest, at times playful and mischievous – not unlike qualities he embodies as an actor. It is the heart
and soul of this rich, deeply thoughtful and humane
documentary, told from the perspective of a person

to channel that dismay; what a wonderful education
to provide.”
