Star brite® was founded in 1973
based on a line of automotive
maintenance items. The company's
key product was an innovative car
polish formulated with special
cleaners. It quickly and easily
restored dull, oxidized paint, using
space-age polymers to provide a
beautiful shine and extremely
long-lasting protection. The
company soon thereafter expanded
the product line to include marine
and RV products.
In the late 1970s Star brite®
expanded its market base by
opening a distribution center near
Toronto, Canada, an office in Lyon,
France, and a warehouse facility in
Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The
company issued an IPO in the
mid-1980s as Ocean Bio-Chem,
Incorporated (OBCI). Star brite®
products are now sold in virtually
every developed country in the
world and the firm is the leader in
its various fields.
Today, Star brite® continues to
bring new and innovative products
to specific markets. The company
currently markets specialty
products to the marine, automotive,
power sports, outdoor power
equipment, RV, trucking, home
care and aviation industries. In
addition to its chemical product
offerings, the company also
manufactures a complete line of
brushes, handles, related cleaning
aids, tie-downs and bungees.
Star brite’s main manufacturing
and distribution facility is Kinpak,
Inc., in Montgomery, Alabama.
Kinpak also manufactures
numerous items under a private
label program for major oil
companies and consumer goods
retailers.
The facility consists of a 300,000
s.f. manufacturing, blending,
packing, and distribution center
utilizing RF technology. The plant
has an 80,000 gallon tank farm, an
on-site laboratory, quality control
center, four blow-molding machines
for PVC and HDPE bottles and
eight fully-automated high-speed
filling lines. Kinpak also has a
five-acre marine terminal on the
Alabama River for accepting
shipments of raw materials by
barge and rail.

Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is in wide use as a cleaning, disinfection and odor elimination agent in municipal water
treatment facilities, hospitals, food processing plants and more. As several examples of its effectiveness, ClO2
was used to eradicate dangerous molds from storm and flood-damaged homes and buildings throughout
the Gulf states following Hurricane Katrina, to disinfect buildings contaminated with anthrax in 2001 and for

custom embroidery on our straps, digitizing customer logos into
