About Save A Dog
Save A Dog, Inc. is a non-profit dog rescue group, started in 1999
in response to the urgent situation with dogs all over this country
being euthanized needlessly. Every year 4 – 6 million dogs are put
to sleep because there is simply no place for them to go. There
are so many more dogs being born than there are people to
adopt them and many of the people who adopt puppies won’t or
can’t commit to them for life, so it makes for an awful situation.
Dogs are companion animals destined to be with people, not
living outside in the elements or in city-run shelters, so our goal
is to try to help as many as we can with as many volunteers and
supporters as we can inspire to help. We provide our rescued
dogs with loving care, medical treatment, and a place to stay
while we are searching for a loving permanent home. The dogs
are evaluated for temperament, brought up-to-date on
vaccinations and adults are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
All prospective adopters are evaluated with the goal of ensuring
that the dogs have appropriate homes and do not end up on
death row again.
Save A Dog organizes an extensive network of foster “parents”
and volunteers to care for the rescued dogs prior to their
adoption. Living in a foster home allows the dogs to assimilate
themselves into a home environment and protects them from the
stress and health risks of residing in a shelter on a long-term
basis. It also facilitates the emergence of a dog’s true personality
so that the best match with an adopter can be made.
To pay our day-to-day operating costs, we depend entirely upon
private donations and fundraisers held throughout the year. Every
single dollar we raise makes a difference in the life of a dog.

A Guide to the Auction
We are offering our guests both a silent and a live auction today.
Feel free to walk around and view all the items displayed. We are
also offering complimentary hot and cold hors d'oeuvres.
Desserts and coffee will be served. Take your time to review all
the auction items, make your silent auction bids, and visit our
merchandise table. And, of course, have a great time meeting
members of the Save A Dog family.

Silent Auction
The silent auction tables will be located in the Banquet/Silent
Auction room off the lobby and Main Dining Room. Be sure to
visit these tables upon your arrival and place your bids.
The rules are simple: When you see an item you like, enter your
bid and bidder number (the number on your paddle) on the bid
card (all bids must be in whole dollar increments). Return to
check on the item often and adjust your bid if necessary to make
sure yours is the highest.

An announcement will be made prior to the closing of each lot so

Live Auction
The slideshow presentation will begin the live auction. Things will
really start to get exciting as these unique and very special items
are introduced. Be sure to look them over ahead of time, and bid
high and often. Remember that you are helping needy adoptable
dogs every time you raise your paddle!
Paying For Your Auction Purchases
Running tabs for each bidder will be maintained throughout the
auction for both silent and live auction items. You may go to the
checkout table(s) in the lobby when they open to receive your
itemized bill. Then follow the line around the table to the cashier
where cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard will be taken for payment. All merchandise must be taken with you when you leave.

2003 International Auctioneer Championship. She was the chairperson of
