Hard to believe we are about to enter into September and our 4 Show Series is over. It seems like
the shows just started and here we are looking at Labor Day already. So, onward and upward with
our next ventures. First on the list is our “First Annual Obstacle Challenge Event” that is being
held in conjunction with our Country Fair on Sept 23rd. The vendors are booking quickly, but we
still have room for more. We anticipate having vendors all under the trees by the sign up booth
and around the arena. There is also a lot of competitor interest as the Obstacle rides seem to be
really popular. Again, please pass the word to riders and possible vendors too as we plan to shop
til we drop. See the flyer in this newsletter for times and details of this event and there are sign up
forms for riders and vendors on our website @ www.ylcr.net
AN EXCITING & IMPORTANT Guest will be our Speaker at the Sept 5th General Meeting.
Attending this meeting could save your pet’s life or maybe your own. Our Guest Speaker is
Karen Singleton of Rattlesnake Avoidance Training. Did you know you can spend over $4,000.
to save your dog’s life if it is bitten by a rattlesnake and it can be up to $50,000. to save a human?
Karen will address the dangers and training techniques for horses too. If you are a trail rider,
horse or dog owner you simply cannot afford to miss this
meeting as it is FREE and could save you $$Thousand$$.
Spread the word and please help us fill the room just like we did
for Dr. Treser. Thank you by the way, to those who attended
and helped fill the room for Dr. Treser, wasn’t he AWESOME??
The next Big Event is our Awards Banquet, we are penciled in
for Nov. 2nd at the YL Country Club. When this date is
confirmed I will send out a notice and a sign up form that will
be in the Oct. newsletter. If you are new to YLCR this night is a
favorite to many. We award our Show Hi Point and Reserve
winners as well as dedicate the other half our night to our Youth
Team. They will receive their awards for their hard work
throughout the year. We also acknowledge our Sponsor’s,
Worker Bee’s, YLCR Officers and Board of Directors. It is a
fun filled night in a great atmosphere, good food, and we end the
evening with dancing which is the kid’s favorite part. All this
fun and so close to home, we will look forward to sharing this
evening with you and your family.
Y.L.C.R. Secretary Peggy
Jo and Club President Dee
Dr. Kirk Pollard, Pete, Jamie, Jenna, Nancy Rikel,
Lastly, we have parades coming, the Placentia Parade is Oct.
13th and the YL Parade is back on the calendar and scheduled
for Nov. 10th. We ask for “Parade Safe” horses only to
participate and for you to let us know as soon as possible if you
plan to ride with us. I will send out parade details later in Sept.
to those who have expressed interest. Remember this is a great
opportunity for us to show that horses are thriving in Yorba
Linda, so please consider joining us in the Parade.
Enjoy the end of your summer and Happy Trails to all,
Happy Trails, Dee Dee

As summer winds down and we head back to school I can't help but think about how fast summer zips by us. Hopefully
everybody got some good horsey time in with their ponies and are ready for Fall. We had a super busy august with the horse
show, the youth team pool party and a visit to the race track. Cortlynn is going to pick every bodies lotto tickets next time cause
she knows how to pick winners.
As September arrives we will be thinking about our upcoming events. We will have a meeting on September 11 to plan for the
upcoming obstacle trail ride. The meeting will either be at the community center or My home. I will let you know when I find
out. We will need some volunteers for snacks, so please let me know if you can help. Our obstacle trail event is September 23,
2012. We will be providing a booth and the job assignments for the day will be given out. We also need to be thinking about our
theme for decorations for the banquet so we can prepare accordingly. Our banquet will be in November tentatively.
Get some last minute riding time in and we will see ya out on the trails.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
www.YLCR.net
The Yorba Linda Country Riders (YLCR) is a voluntary community group established in 1970 and dedicated to
protecting the equestrian heritage and lifestyle of Yorba Linda. YLCR works in partnership with our city government
to ensure that the trails and rural atmosphere of the city are maintained, as well as providing educational programs
and other activities.
Our youth programs teach values and responsibility through the care, handling and riding of horses. The youth team
meets monthly, and for field trips, “horse play dates” and horse shows. Your generous sponsorship contributes to
the success of all of these programs, and places your business organization’s name in front of current and potential
customers. Sign up now, and earn valuable recognition as follows:
$25.00 Family / Individual Sponsor Level
• A monthly listing in the YLCR Newsletter, which goes to over 200 members, businesses and
supporters.
• A listing in our annual Sponsor Tribute in the Yorba Linda Star newspaper, which has a circulation of
over 18,000 homes.
$50.00 Company Sponsor Level = In addition to the benefits listed above
• Your business name will be announced throughout all YLCR shows, along with any approved
advertising message you submit.
$150.00 Company Sponsor Level = In addition to the benefits listed above

the year.
• Your small space ad will be published in our monthly newsletter.
$300.00 Company Sponsor Level = In addition to the benefits listed above
