Because each joist has 12-inches of trim at each end, a continuous range of span is possible. TrimJoist® Features . . . . . . and the Benefits Open Web Design The TrimJoist® can be field trimmed up to 12” on each end. This feature allows the framing contractor to customize the product on-site for a perfect fit….without the wait. 3-1/2” Nailing Surface The open web design of the TrimJoist® allows for the utilization of that valuable floor cavity space. It’s now practical for duct work, wiring, and plumbing to be contained within this cavity. This eliminates unsightly and expensive furring. Free access to the floor cavity requires no cutting or notching that can severely impair the structural integrity of other joists products of inferior design. Trim to Fit The TrimJoist® provides a full 31/2” wide surface for the proper nailing and gluing of subfloor materials. By providing such a wide surface, the TrimJoist® allows the builder to use subfloor framing tolerances that will prevent squeaks. The wide surface also allows the application of sufficient glue to make the TrimJoist® and the subfloor truly act as a unified system. ® TrimJoist Features. . . . . .and the Benefits ® TrimJoist used in standard residential applications requires no structural rim joists or ‘squash” blocks. Due to the unique design of the TrimEnd ® section, only TrimJoist used in the heaviest load conditions require additional compression blocking. ® Longer spans with TrimJoist are possible due to the engineered strength and stiffness properties, this results in fewer piers and beams, thus reducing the overall cost of the floor system. Wider on-center spacings maybe used during installation ® of the TrimJoist . This advantage will reduce the number of joists required for a given floor area resulting in a reduction of the overall floor system cost. ® TrimJoist Features. . . . and the Benefits ® TrimJoist are packaged in small bundles of (13) pieces to expedite shipments and minimize inventory. Each bundle of TrimJoist® is shed wrapped to prevent weathering and maintain low moisture content prior to shipment from your facility. Production levels are adjusted regularly to maintain inventory for immediate shipment and meet our customers demands. TrimJoist Support ® TrimJoist provides technical support including design software, computer generated floor framing layouts, material takeoffs, and engineer sealed truss designs. ® TrimJoist provides sales support to aid you and your staff and ensure your success ® with TrimJoist Engineered Wood Products. ® TrimJoist provides field support to educate architects, building designers, and contractor as well as your staff on proper installation methods and other framing issues. Cost Efficient Longer Spans allow for fewer supports such as: beams, load bearing walls and piers. Greater on-center Spacing between joists may be used due to engineered performance and 3 1/2” flange width. Load Carrying Capacity is greater than other competing products. Installation Ease due to fewer joists per floor system to set, and faster sheathing application. Blocking is easily installed by inserting a 2x6 strongback thru the open web members. No cross bridging means lower labor cost. Reduces Jobsite Waste and clean-up labor. Eliminates Suspended Ceilings – TrimJoist allows the mechanicals to be installed within the floor cavity, with no need for “furring out.” Structural RimJoist are not required in standard residential applications for structural performance. Benefits for the Builder Prompt Service means your project is no longer at the mercy of the custom truss manufacturer. Technical Support includes computer generated layouts, material lists, truss designs, and engineering seals. Consistent Pricing compared to solid sawn and other engineered wood products. Design Flexibility is an important core valve. The high strength and stiffness properties of the TrimJoist make possible longer spans, fewer supports, and shallower depth joists. Easy Installation requires no special training for frame carpenters. Simply set on plate and nail down. Wider Nailing Surface makes fastening the subfloor quick and easy and practically eliminates any risk of squeaks or callbacks. Electrical Here! HVAC Ducts Here! Plumbing Here!
