Hyundai, Kia recall
361,000 Canadian vehicles
‘
2.2 MILLION VEHICLES ACROSS U.S. AND CANADA
AFFECTED BY VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL
H
yundai Motors and its Kia Motors affiliate have initiated a
voluntary safety recall for more than 2.2 million vehicles in
North America — including more than 361,000 in Canada —
for problems related to air bags and brake light safety switches.
The bigger recall — almost 2.1 million vehicles — is to fix a
problem with a switch that might stop the brake lights from
illuminating when drivers press the brake pedal. This recall
affects most of the Korean automakers' models from the 2007 to
2011 model years.
More than 361,000 of the affected vehicles were sold in Canada
— about 255,000 Hyundais and 106,098 Kias.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said
the switch problem might also "cause an inability to deactivate the
cruise control by depressing the brake pedal."
Spokespeople for Hyundai Canada and Kia Canada said there
have been "some" complaints but said there are no known reports
of accidents or injuries.
Hyundai said it will send notifications to owners in June, as
soon as enough replacements parts are available. Kia said it will
send its notifications in May. Hyundai and Kia dealers will replace
the switches free of charge.

Why Indian beauties love to wear sarees
I
t's an old debate. With
Indians shining on the
international arena, and
making red carpet appearances,
this question was bound to come
up. Which one? Well, to wear or
not to wear, the saree that is!
Case in point the lovely
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who
chose to wear gowns at Cannes.
But it was Deepika Padukone,
looking ethereal in a saree, who
managed to outshine her. So then
what should one wear? We asked
some lovely ladies what they
would opt for if given a chance
to walk the red carpet at an
international event and the sari
emerged a clear winner!
Mandira Bedi
I have always worn a saree when
‘
The six-yard Indian garment emerged a clear winner
when we asked some beautiful babes what they
would prefer to wear at a classy international do.
I want to put my best foot
forward. The elegance, grace and
sex appeal that the sari has to offer
is unparalleled. It is one of the most
beautiful garments ever created
because even a simple sari can look
spectacular depending on how it's
draped and carried off. On a red
carpet especially, outside the
country, it has a great wow factor.
Anushka Manchanda
If it's the first time, then you
should wear a saree. There's no
better way to stand out in a
crowd of gown-clad women.
Stress can hurt your bones too

BEST TROUSER TRENDS THIS SEASON
T
here was a time not so long ago when most women had
t r o u s e r s i n three primary colours- black, blue and grey.
And when it came to jeans, they would shop for super skinny, low
rise or flared. These classic shapes and colours would then be co-ordinated
with a bunch of tops and blouses in perfect colour matches for a well puttogether look. Today, trousers have undergone a sea change and choosing
the trouser is just as important as what you choose to wear on top. The
most interesting trousers in the market right now are the cigarette pants
and is being hailed as the "sleekest spring trouser" look. Experts say that
they should be worn no less than three inches above the ankle and should
be worn with closed shoes and a jacket for work and a funky T-shirt to go
clubbing. Today cigarette pants are available with paisley prints and in
leather. The other option is to go for the coloured skinny jeans that are
ubiquitous now. These narrow pants come in all kinds of colours, like neon
yellow, bright red and lime green to name a few and can be teamed with
pastels to capture the hot look of the season. The ever popular black
straight legged trouser also continues to be in style, which can turn sporty
with a denim or leather jacket or double as evening wear when worn with
a pair of statement earrings and sparkly shoes. The palazzo pant is also hot

for a casual day out. This wide and flowing style in trousers is very popular
as it can be teamed with tiny tops which then billow out to large

ANXIETY, FATIGUE AND LONELINESS, ALL
SYNONYMOUS WITH MODERN LIVING, CAN
LOWER BONE MINERAL DENSITY.
f you thought you'd heard of all
kinds of health problems that
stress can cause, there's more.
Stress — anything that surfaces
in the form of frustration, anger,
anxiety or depression — can be
terrible for your bones too. And
there's more to the dilemma of
your weakening bone than
offsetting it by simply increasing
your calcium supplements.
THE CORTISOLCATCH
Repeated studies have
pointed at how stress adversely
affects bone mineral density, which
is the amount of mineral matter per
square centimetre of bones. Dr
Pradeep Bhonsle, Head of
Orthopaedics at KEM Hospital, says stress
plays a
critical role in slowly, but steadily, bringing about the onset of osteoporosis.
When your bone tissue is constantly remodelled within the body, the
show is run by two cell types: osteoblasts that help in depositing new
bone tissue and osteoclasts that break down old bone tissue. Dr Bhonsle
says, "Your bone density is determined by the rate at which these cells
work. Under stress, our adrenal glands increase the production of
cortisol. Cortisol, known as the 'stress hormone' as it's released by the
body in response to stress, can decrease bone density by inhibiting the
bone-building osteoblasts."

POLISH IT THE BRIGHT WAY
“
BRIGHT COLOURED NAIL ENAMELS ARE
EMERGING AS A NEW TREND.
The concept of painting nails is acquiring a whole new meaning from being a subtle nail enhancing accessory, its now turning into a
sure-shot way to grab attention.
Though the concept of painting designs on finger and toe nails is
not a new one, bright colours are now making their presence felt
across all age groups, especially the youth.
The youth today is moving away from the boring pinks, browns and
maroons and are being bold and experimenting with whackiest nail
enamels like black, yellow, orange, and even shades of pink, blue
and green.
"It's about adding vibrancy to your personality. Most of the time we
look at our hands and so it is important to make them look good.
Though colours like orange, green, yellow are difficult to carry off,
they surely help in drawing attention to your hands and toes. In
fact, if you paint your nails in shades like peacock green or purple
and team it with a white or black t-shirt, you can do away with
accessorising too," says Upasana Makati, a college student.
Even the black nail polish, which has always been associated with
the rock lovers, is slowly acquiring the 'cool' tag.
Apart from red and black, women are also experimenting with unusual
shades. Being different than the conventional nail shades, these are
quite popular among the younger crowd. Like Jerome Oberhauser, a
beauty stylist states, "Loud and darker colours are quite popular
among younger women, not necessarily mean fluorescent colours.
Among younger, college goers, colours like green, yellow, bright
shades of pink and reds are a rage, especially with those who have
French manicured them."
Besides being popular among the youth, bold colours also reflect
their mood. "I paint my nails to compliment my mood. So, a sea
green or an orange would reflect my happiness, and on the days I'm
a little low I would opt for a dark shades like blue," says Leanne Zara
Rodrigues, another student.
The concept of matching nail enamels to compliment your t-shirt
colour is also being done away with. In fact, being the opposite is
what is getting increasing popular. " For my friends and me, it's all
about being funky. So, wearing pink nail paint with a pink t-shirt is a
definite no-no. There is no point in wearing a colour like brown or
light pink, as that's a shade my mom would wear. It's all about doing
the opposite. So, if I wear a blue t-shirt, I'd paint my nails with
orange to look trendy," said Saireena Mamik, a student and aspiring
model. "Everyone today wants to look different and so be it their
clothes, make-up and even nails for that matter, it's got to be stylish.
It's all about flaunting bold enamels with confidence," concludes
Annette, director of a well known beauty salon.
Orange for your face and hair
MOSTLY KNOWN AS A GOOD SOURCE OF VITAMIN C, ORANGES ARE NOT ONLY GOOD FOR YOUR
HEALTH BUT ALSO ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT NATURAL SKIN-CARE PRODUCTS.
Its toning properties improve your skin
texture and colour. Both Vitamin C and
citric acid in oranges restore collagen
in your body. Collagen helps in skinfirming and prevents ageing of the
skin. Citric acid helps to reduce
wrinkles and softens the skin, giving
you a much youngerlooking skin. It exfoliates
the skin, removing the
dead skin cells, and
cleanses the pores,
helping
in
acne
prevention. Oranges also
have Vitamin A, which,
along with Vitamin C, helps
reverse sun damage, protecting your skin from cancer. It is also
used in spas for skin polish — it improves the texture of your skin as
it exfoliates and hydrates it well.
Make your own orange peel face pack
Clean the orange peel with salt to remove all germs and then put
them in a blender to make a thick paste. Add a tablespoon of yogurt,
a few drops of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey into the paste
and mix well. Wash your face
with warm water and apply the
pack.
It will open up the
pores. Let the
pack remain for
an hour and let it
dry. Wash with
cold water after
an hour. The
pack
will
remove all the
dead skin and
dirt from your
face and give you a
fresh feel. After washing
away the pack completely, apply a thin coat of face cream to prevent
the skin from drying up.
For the hair, too
Orange peel juice can be used on the scalp to reduce dandruff and
oily conditions. The peel can be mashed into a pulp and used as a
hair pack. It helps to condition the hair and cleanse the scalp. A tip:
Rub the inside peel of an orange on your skin to tighten it.

Stress can hurt your bones too
Contd. from Page 25
With decreased osteoblast activity, the body ends up with more
broken down bone tissue than deposited, causing low bone
density and eventually osteoporosis. Interestingly, America
which figures among the countries with the highest calcium
intake, also has one of the highest rates of osteoporosis. The
solution, health experts say, doesn't lie in getting more calcium,
but excreting less of it. When you face stress, you lose calcium
through urine. Dr Bhonsle adds, "More cortisol leads to a dip in
calcium absorption and a spike in its excretion."
ACID ATTACK
Needless to say, the phosphoric acid in your cola acts as a
corrosive agent and is a key cause of calcium and mineral loss
from bones and teeth. Dr Bhonsle points out that stress effects
a similar reaction and result. "Stress causes acidity which impedes
optimal digestion of food. This acidity also hampers mineral
metabolism which is vital for bone health. In fact, without proper
absorption of these minerals, even a very nutritious diet is of no
use to your bones," he says.
DEPRESSION ALERT
Studies have also found that people suffering from depression have a
lower bone density, making their bones more brittle than others. When
in depression, the brain uses the sympathetic nervous system (which
responds to impending danger or stress) to boost the secretion of
noradrenalin within the bone, a chemical which obstructs osteoblasts.
Depression, researchers say, mimics the effect of stress.
BE FOOD WISE
Constant stress and the general feeling of being low makes people
seek comfort in junk foods which aren't rich in calcium, magnesium
and other essential nutrients that help prevent osteoporosis.
"Such wrong food choices translate into inadequate bone
nutrition. Besides, the erratic timing of meals and multitasking
like texting or working while eating seriously hinders optimum
digestion. Of course, a regular intake of vitamin D3, obtained
from the morning sun, is important as it helps in the utilisation of
minerals in the bones.
Why Indian beauties love to wear sarees
Contd. from Page 25
And sarees make women look hot! If you're an international red
carpet veteran, you can wear whatever you want.
Pooja Bedi
For the Dubai film festival, I'd worn a gown and George Clooney simply
loved it and said he wished he could wear it. However, a well designer
saree with a sexy blouse is elegant, alluring, exotic and can definitely
turn heads. Exactly what is required on the red carpet! Ethnic or western,
our Indian designers rock!
Megha Kawale
Definitely a saree, as I feel the Indian woman looks extremely graceful
and beautiful in one. And India is the hottest thing on the international
scene, so there is nothing classier than an Indian beauty in an Indian
sari. It's exotically perfect!
Debina Bonnerjee
I would prefer a gown because being an Indian and being in India, I get
many opportunities to wear a saree. And international event
appearance would look good in an international attire. If in Rome,
do as the Romans do!
Ishita Arun
I love the saree but knowing me, I'd wear an Indo-western gown by
some Indian designer that would be me and very unique, as it probably
would be made from an antique heirloom saree!
Preeti Jhangiani
Though I love gowns and think a well-fitting gown can look fabulous,
for an international event, I would go in for a saree because no one can
match the grace of an Indian woman in a sari. Plus, it would be unusual
on an international red carpet and would stand out.

BANK OF CANADA SIGNALS RATES TO
REMAIN ON HOLD EVEN LONGER
T
he Bank of Canada kept its key policy rate at 1 per cent on
April 17th 2013. It has been unchanged at this level for more
than two and a half years.
In its April policy rate announcement, the Bank lowered its
forecast for Canadian economic growth to 1.5 per cent this year. Its
previous forecast published in January predicted growth of 2 per
cent in 2013.
The Bank's new forecast is in line with the recently downgraded
outlook issued by the International Monetary Fund and is slightly
more pessimistic than the consensus forecast by private sector
economic forecasts. The Bank still expects growth to pick up later
this year, but pushed the improvement further out into the second
half of 2013. For 2014, the Bank is forecasting growth of 2.8 per
cent, up slightly from the previous forecast of 2.7 per cent,
with similar growth of 2.7 per cent in 2015.
The Bank also lowered its forecast for inflation, and extended
how long it expects it to remain below the inflation target of 2 per
cent (i.e. mid-2015).

EASY TIPS TO DETOX YOUR HOME
S
tains on the wall, clogged drains, and dirty shower doors,
among other things, can make your house seem depressing
to live in. When unexpected stains appear on floors, walls
and furniture, removing them can seem an unpleasant task. But
making your house look its best isn't as tough as it seems if you
know just the right tricks. Here's a short list:
Removing candle wax from wood
Firstly, soften the wax with a hair dryer. Then use a paper towel to
remove the wax and wash the surface with a mixture of vinegar
and water.
Chrome fixtures
Use fabric softener sheets to shine chrome-plated fixtures in your
bathroom and kitchen. Take the pulp of a lemon and rub it on your
kitchen fixtures.
Clogged drain
If your drain is clogged with grease, pour a cup of salt and a cup
of baking soda into the drain followed by a glass of boiling water.
Crayon on the walls
Anyone who has a toddler at home will probably know how kids
love to scribble on walls. Use a simple, plain eraser to rub the
writing off. Alternatively, you can also take a blow dryer and use
it on the marks for about five to ten minutes. Wipe the area with a
clean, dry towel.
A
new CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) Poll conducted by Harris/
Decima reveals more than one-third of Canadian homeowners
plan to take on some form of home renovation project this
year, with an average expected renovation cost of just over $15,000.
Highlights of the poll include:
" $15,300 is the amount Canadian homeowners say they will
spend on their home renovations this year, on average
" 39 per cent of Canadian homeowners say they plan to
renovate their home in the next 12 months
" Among Canadian homeowners planning to renovate,
Alberta homeowners plan to spend the most on their home
renovations this year ($22,900 on average), while Atlantic Canadians
say they plan to spend among the least ($11,000 on average)
" Regionally, Alberta residents are among the most likely (52
per cent) to say they plan to renovate their home in the next 12
months, while British Columbians are among the least likely with
only 25 per cent of home owners saying they plan to renovate
" Among demographics, Canadians aged 45-54 plan to spend
among the most on their home renovations this year ($18,300 on
average), nearly $3,000 more than the national average
"Whether it's replacing an old roof or updating a kitchen, home
renovations can help you get more out of your property, but you do
need to consider how the costs will fit with your overall financial
plan," said Colette Delaney, Executive Vice President of Mortgage,
Lending, Insurance and Deposit Products, CIBC. Previous CIBC
research shows that Canadians named paying down debt as their
top financial priority for 2013, suggesting that those Canadians taking on
a home renovation will need to keep a close eye on their renovation budget
to stay on track towards their financial goals.

Bank of Canada
signals rates to
remain on hold
even longer
Contd. from Page 33
This represents a considerable shifting of the goalposts;
only three months earlier, the Bank projected that this would
happen sometime in the second half of 2014.
Much of the rest of the Bank's April policy rate
announcement reiterated its views communicated in its
previous statement in March. Notably, the Bank is more
comfortable about trends for household debt and the housing
sector, describing developments in the latter as
"constructive".
The bottom remains that interest rates this year are going
nowhere fast. What's new is that they're not likely to be going
to be going anywhere fast throughout all of 2014 either,
particularly given that inflation expectations remain extremely
well anchored.
The Bank does not want to be seen as changing its tune
too dramatically, or fuelling expectations that it might even
be forced to cut rates. For that reason, the Bank indicated
that its next move will likely be to raise interest rates, albeit
not for some time. That said, that's now so far into the future
that the Bank is really saying is "we're not going to raise
interest rates."
As of April 17th, 2013, the advertised five-year lending
rate stood at 5.14 per cent, down 0.1 percentage points from
the previous Bank rate announcement on March 6th. The
five-year rate had previously remained at 5.24 per cent since
the beginning of June 2012.

Declutter your space!
F
ollow these simple steps to
rid your house of clutter.
If you're among those who
keeps procrastinating tidying up
and blaming lack of scape for not
being organised, here are a few
tips that will help you declutter for
good...
- Trying to do everything at one
go will only make you feel stressed
out. Instead, declutter for 20
minutes every day. You'll be able
to get t h r o u g h m o r e t h i n g s
without frustrating yourself.
- Avoid allowing new things
into your house in the first
place. Whether you've just
started decluttering or have
just completed it
- stop bringing in new stuff!
- Instead of throwing away
things you don't need, give it
to someone who will be happy
to use it.
That way you won't even
feel guilty about discarding
things.
- Give yourself a date by
which you will get rid of
things you don't need. Make a
chart or mark dates off on a
calender.
Create a Cool Teen Bedroom
R
emember when you were a teenager and you
felt that your parents just did not understand
you? No matter how much they tried, they just
didn't get what being cool was for your generation. Well,
now you're the parent and you may find yourself having
the same arguments with your teenager that your parents
had with you.
Decorating a bedroom with your teen can pose
many problems if you do not share the same interests
or have similar tastes. But, with a little compromising
and a willingness to keep an open mind from both
parties, you may just be able to create a bedroom that
both of you can live with. Here are some tips.
INVOLVE YOUR TEEN
While you may be the parent and your teen lives
in your house, you have to understand that your
teen's bedroom is his place of refuge, where he gets
to have some sense of autonomy. How he decorates
his room is probably one of the few topics he may
feel that he has a say in. After all, he is the one who
spends most of his time there. It's important that you
both enter this collaboration with willingness to
compromise.

CHOOSING
ART FOR
YOUR HOME
S
electing and displaying
art is an art in itself.
You will be definitely
appreciated for the time you
invest by finding more
satisfaction both in the art
and in your home. If you
regularly visit galleries and
museums, you probably
already have a good sense of
what kind of art appeals to you.
If not, there are many
opportunities to browse art in

Visiting art

will give you
an idea of the

of
different
artists both
veterans and
young. Nowa-days, you
can buy art
online
by
doing your research. Having a
clear idea about your art
preferences is definitely a
boon. Art that is too large will
overwhelm and art that is too
small will be lost and look out
of proportion. Measure the
space you want to hang the
art and leave enough 'white
space' so that the painting
will not become a part of the
crowd. As a rule, paintings
should be hung
so that the center of the
painting is at eye level.
Sculpture may sit on the floor,

in the wrong place takes away
its very essence.

CIBC POLL: Canadian homeowners spending
$15,000 on average for home renovations in 2013
Contd. from Page 33
"Most people taking on a renovation have a clear vision of how
they want their home to look when it's done. Our message is you
need the same clear plan for repaying any debt you might incur
along the way," added Ms. Delaney.
HGTV's Scott McGillivray Notes that Planning is Key to a Successful
Renovation
Scott McGillivray, host of HGTV's "Income Property", also stressed
the benefits of planning when it comes to making improvements to
your home while managing your budget.
"The most important part of a renovation is the planning. It sounds
cliché, but planning really is half the battle. In my experience, the
homeowners who plan ahead are also more likely to be happy with
the end result, and are better at sticking to their budget."
For Canadians looking to stretch their renovation budget, it's
important to prioritize your renovations by mapping out where you
are going to invest within your home, and how much money you will
need to allocate to each job.
"Kitchens and bathrooms are always value-adds, so if you're
prioritizing your renovations and looking to make your dollars go
further, plan on doing those rooms first," added Mr. McGillivray "I
also like to add an income suite in where possible, but that's a
personal choice."
Renovation Tips from Scott McGillivray:
To make sure you stick to your renovation budget, while getting the
greatest return on your investment, Mr. McGillivray offers the
following tips:
"
Plan the Work: You don't want to be in the middle of a home
renovation project when you realize you are unable to meet your
timeline or budget, especially if you are operating with a tight budget.
"
Set your Priorities: If you are taking on multiple renovations,
decide which ones are the most important to you, and tackle those
first. Kitchens and bathrooms make good choices for a renovation
because of the potential to add value to your home.
"
Expect the Unexpected: Regardless of how much you plan
in advance, leave a cushion in your budget for the unexpected. You
should aim to have a cushion of 20 per cent to over any unexpected
costs.
"
Get it in Writing: You should always get quotes from
contractors before any work starts, have a signed agreement on the

scope of work they will be doing and everything that's included.
You also need to be clear on what's not included so that you'll know
about any expenses that will be your responsibility.
Financing Advice from CIBC:
To help fund their home renovation, CIBC offers the following tips:
"
Draw on Savings - if you are able to draw on savings to
fund part or all of your renovation, it may be the best option. Be sure
to leave yourself some emergency funds in your savings account
so that you still have a cushion against other unexpected expenses
that can arise.
"
Choose a Low Cost Borrowing Option:
"
A secured line of credit, like CIBC's Home Power Plan, offers
Canadians with equity in their homes a low cost borrowing solution
that can be used to finance expenses such as home improvements.
CIBC's Home Power Plan provides Canadians the fixed payment
schedule of a mortgage with the flexibility of a line or credit, and the
ability to access the funds whenever you need them, should you
need to make a future repair or in the event of an emergency.
"
An Unsecured Line of Credit (UPLC) is another option that
can be used to finance home renovations. An Unsecured Line of
Credit represents a good option for borrowing of smaller amounts
with a plan in place to repay the amount owing.
STARTING TECHNIQUES
Start with a clean, starched white linen tablecloth. It's
acceptable to use another subtle colour for your linens.
Coloured linen napkins in decorative rings add some colour.
Linen placemats, matching the napkins, can also be used.
The first items on the tablecloth should be the dinner
plates. These should be in the middle of each place setting.
Each person's tableware should be placed at equal intervals.
In the center of each dinner plate should be the napkins,
folded elegantly, or neatly rolled into a napkin ring.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHILE LAYINGA TABLE
To the right of each plate are the knives. Since the general
rule of formal silverware is to eat working your way in,
silverware should be placed on the table in the order
it's to be used. Make sure the knives are placed on the
table with the blade turned towards the plate.
To the right of the knives are the spoons. In many cases,
only a soupspoon will be used, unless there is a melon course,
in which case the melon spoon is closest to the knives, and
the soupspoon should be first in the row. Dessert spoons
are placed above the plate.
To the left of each plate are the forks, also to be placed
in the order of use. In most cases it's a seafood fork first,
entree fork and last is the salad fork. All silverware should
be placed an inch from the edge of the table to keep
everything looking uniform and tidy.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
For the formal dinners, dress your table as formally as
you yourself would dress. Once your best tablecloth is
spread across the dining room table, focus on where to place
the dinnerware. Remember not to be intimidated. Setting a
formal table isn't as difficult as one would think. Once you
learn the rules and a few tricks, you'll be fine, and your guests
will think you've been living the elegant life for years!

MIDWEEK NEWS WEEKLY
TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 2013
onservation of environment reads like a fashion statement
these days or so it seems. We celebrate the Ear th Hour one
Saturday every year to let ourselves believe we have done our
duty toward saving the planet. We definitely need to be a little more
involved in the environment saving project. Charity begins at home they
say, so why not decorate our homes in a way that does not threaten but
protect the ecological system from collapsing? By simply choosing the
right fabric, non-toxic paints and other decor articles that are eco-friendly
and encourage use of recycled materials, we can make a difference by
going organic in home decor.
Interior designer Meenakshi
Agrawal tells us how to design our homes while keeping our eco-consciousness
intact. She gives out useful
tips on selecting wooden furnishing, wallpapers, flooring and centrepieces for an
overall classy home decor
while promoting the mantra
of going green as well. She
talks to us about a unique
eco-friendly wall decor
concept, 'DecorCoat' that
she with her par tner has
introduced in the market
as a viable alternative to
paints and wallpapers for home renovation.
WALLPAPER DESIGNS AND PATTERNS
There are diverse options when it comes to choosing wallpapers.
Designs like classic retro prints, metallic geometrics, botanical
prints and those that mimic the look of natural landscapes are
among the popular trends this season, informs our exper t. When
asked how DecorCoat is different from and advantageous than
ordinary wall decor methods, Meenakshi explains, "Normal wallpapers have VOC i.e. Volatile Organic Compounds. These are
chemicals that we smell when wallpapers are applied; it adds to
the indoor air pollution and directly affects our health. Organic
wall decor on the other hand is low on VOC. These are made up of
grass cloth and cotton fiber that do not have a negative impact on
the environment.
GOING THE GREEN WAY
In the choice of wood, Meenakshi recommends bamboo-based
furniture. She explains, "Bamboo is not only an organic product, it
is strong, firm and stays durable for years. Termite-free and suited
to all kinds of climate/weather conditions; it is also easy on the
pocket vis-a-vis other expensive options in wooden decor."
Wrought iron is another pick that adds elegance to an ordinary
home setup. You do not need to hassle about chipping; fading or
scratching with wrought iron furniture. It is competent in withstanding harsh weather changes.
