We are thriving as an organization and the number of suppliers on contracts and members who use the MHEC contracts has never been greater. We now have over 700 members and more than 650 suppliers. We expect to see record revenues in excess of $180 million this year after last year’s contract spend of more than $167 million. The MHEC continues to support its members and suppliers and continues to invest in itself to adapt to the changing times. The MHEC is the “Premier Purchasing Consortium” in New England because of the way we work closely with both our suppliers and our members. The Annual Product EXPO is an opportunity to annually reinforce those strong relationships. We look forward to our members and suppliers, both new and old, being with us at this year’s EXPO. This year we will have a record number of suppliers 169 present and we anticipate a record number of member attendees. This year at the EXPO we have added a keynote address and a local author exhibit and book signing featuring more than 20 authors! R E U S E I would like to reach out to all of you to say thank you. We agree with the Toys for Tots program's belief that children are one of our nation's most valuable resources. We are asking exhibitors and attendees to join us in donating to this important program. Last year the MHEC, EXPO attendees and exhibitors donated 189 toys, 54 stocking stuffers, 26 books and $227 in cash to Toys for Tots! You can help us make this year even better. About the Program: Toys for Tots is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Program. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and to distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Their goal is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. The Marines are manning the charity booth located in the lobby by exhibitor registration throughout the day. Toys will be collected at the end of the day. Cash donations are also accepted. Remember, any amount will make a difference to a child in need. “Today’s children will be tomorrow’s civic, business and social leaders” PROGRAM SPONSOR 12 Each toy donated to this year’s Toys For Tots Drive gets you one raffle ticket for this Apple Watch Sport Smartwatch est. $350 Value! These plants have been procured from Lamoreaux Greenhouses, a family owned and operated business. Located in Brookfield, MA, Lamoreaux has ten greenhouses and 25 acres of land. Make sure to take a moment to read the names of the plants; each plant we are using filters toxic agents from the air. Did you know that trees can absorb as much as 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year? Or that one large tree can provide an oxygen supply for two people?1 All plants will be donated following the EXPO. Please consider contributing to the “Go Green” movement by planting trees or other flora. Below is a list of plants we have chosen to help filter the air at this year’s EXPO2: Plant, removes: Benzene Formaldehyde Trichloroethylene Devil’s Ivy, Money Plant Yes Yes English Ivy Yes Yes Yes Yes Florist’s Chrysanthemum Yes Yes Yes Yes Barberton Daisy Yes Yes Yes Heartleaf Philodendron Yes Yes Yes Epipremnum Aureum Hedera Helix Chrysanthemum morifolium Gerbera Jamesonii Philodendron Cordatum 2NASA Clean Air Study Ammonia Yes 1https://www.americanforests.org/discover-forests/tree-facts/ 28 Xylene and Toluene Yes New England Grown Menu On a daily basis, much of the food we eat has traveled across the country or even world to get to us. The distance the food travels on the way to our markets or grocery stores increases the emissions of the food transport vehicles significantly. Eating locally grown food is not only more nutritious but can also help reduce emissions. Make a difference, buy local. EXPO 2015 introduced the New England Grown Lunch where the Sturbridge Host served a menu with ingredients grown in NE; most of the ingredients were from right here in Massachusetts. New England Grown Lunch Tomato Bisque (V)(G)(N) Tossed Local Seasonal Greens with Choice of 2 dressings (V)(G)(N)—Morse Farms Cornbread (V)(N)—Baker Bill Roast Turkey (N)(D)—Misty Knoll Farms Sage Stuffing (V)(N)(D)–Baker Bill Homemade Cranberry Sauce (V)(G)(N)(D) –Ward’s Bog Herb Crusted Baked Haddock –West Boylston Seafood Whipped Red Bliss Potatoes (G)(N) –Morse Farms Squash Medley (V)(G)(N)–Morse Farms Bread Pudding with Maple Sauce (V)–Baker Bill/KE Farms *(V) indicates Vegetarian, (G) Gluten Free, (N) Nut Free, (D) Dairy Free Baker Bill: Baker Bill is located in Sturbridge, MA and has supplied the Sturbridge Host’s baked goods and pastries since the start of the company in 2009.
