President’s Message...
With several Ames
Homebuilder Association events behind us, I
want to offer my congratulations to the following individuals –
toured all of the Parade
homes and submitted their
ticket for a drawing. Congratulations to Patti Simons & Marilyn Haynes
on winning these gift certificates.
First, to those involved
in the planning and coordination of the 2015
Parade of Homes. This
year’s Parade of Homes
was a tremendous success. We had eight
builders that participated in the parade and the
Ames builder community once again provided
an excellent display of
new home construction
and remodeled homes.
Congratulations to each
of the builders for their
involvement in the parade and for either selling your home either
prior to or as a result of
the Parade of Homes.
In addition, Alfred’s
Carpet and Nebraska
Furniture offered $500
gift cards to those that
Events such as the Parade
of Homes allow the association to provide scholarships to youth that wish to
be a part of the construction industry. This year,
we awarded a $1,000
scholarship to Mason Mabee at Roland-Story to
further his construction
education at DMACC.
Congratulations Mason!
The Ames Homebuilders
Association is growing.
We recently concluded a
membership campaign in
which 21 new members
joined the association.
AHBA volunteers recruited these new members
and the volunteer that recruited the most members
was eligible to win a $500
travel certificate. Con-
gratulations to Jeff Drury,
Drury Construction, on recruiting the most new members!
Finally, we recently completed a very successful
golf outing. The outing is a
great opportunity to network with other AHBA
members. Congratulations
to Graig Stensland, Kurt
Friedrich, Brett Linder &
Bill Woodward on winning
the spring golf outing.
It has been a busy spring
and summer for the Ames
Homebuilders Association.
Congratulations once again
to everyone on several very
successful events and thank
you for your continued
membership in the association

Iowa Ambassador Program
The National Association of Home Builders
(NAHB) is recruiting Iowans with a stake in
the success of the home-building industry to
serve as ambassadors for the organization.
These ambassadors will represent NAHB's
stance on national issues pertinent to the organization's success. These issues include,
but are not limited to: regulatory reform, construction codes and standards policies, environmental issues, insurance (property casualty, flood, etc.) and housing affordability, and
finance. When these issues arise, ambassadors will be asked to contact either their
House of Representatives member or one of
Iowa's Senators to demonstrate support for
policies that are friendly to the home-building
industry.
