Särkänniemi offers many attractions, including an aquarium and an art museum. The amusement park has six coasters, including the unique Intamin inverted Tornado. Attendees choosing the partial tour option join the tour at Gröna Lund in Sweden. The park offers up-to-date thrills, including Twister, the new-for-2011 wood coaster from the Gravity Group. TusenFryd, or “Thousand Joys,” opened in 1988 and has been entertaining Oslo families ever since. You’ll find Vekoma, Intamin and Mack coasters among this park’s collection of rides. Next, one of Sweden’s most popular parks: Liseberg. The park counts four coasters in its collection of 40 attractions, including Balder, the 2003 Intamin wood twister. With four coasters, including Falken, the S&S Power wood coaster, and Lynet, the launched Gerstlauer coaster, Fårup Sommerland has offered guests an outstanding experience since its opening in 1975. Djurs Sommerland, which opened in 1981, has four coasters including 2008’s Piraten from Intamin, Gerstlaurer’s unique Thor’s Hammer and their new-for-2011 Mack water coaster. Registration fees are based on double occupancy. If you wish to have a private room, an additional $550 charge will be assessed. While activities have been going on since the early 1900s, the actual park at Tivoli Friheden opened in 1958. There are four coasters to enjoy; the newest, Cobra, a Ride Tek inverted coaster, arrived in 2008. Denmark’s BonBon-Land, with lots of whimsical theming, has four coasters to enjoy; two coasters each from Gerstlauer and Zierer. Bakken, the world’s oldest amusement park, traces its history to 1583 and the discovery of a spring of water with purported curative properties. This historic park offers five coasters, including a classic scenic railway and an Intamin spinning coaster. The tour wraps up at Scandinavia’s most visited park, Tivoli Gardens, which opened in 1843. The coaster collection is highlighted by the wood ACE Coaster Classic Rutschebanen, which dates to the mid-1910s.
