New Programs on Hunterdon
Chamber Radio
A couple of new
programs have started
on Hunterdon Chamber
Radio. Make sure to
check them out at
www.hunterdonchamberradio.com.
Wednesdays, 11:00am
“Raising Conscious Kids Radio” with
Host Kimberly Primatic
Got kids? Teach Kids? Love kids?
We do too! We believe that raising our
kids is the most challenging job that
we will ever have. Why? Because kids
today are different! They’re more
technologically savvy, more sensitive,
they’re smarter and they’re under
more pressure from an even younger
age. As parents, teachers,
grandparents and influencers of
children, we have our work cut out for
us. So we’ve created a place to turn to
for information, inspiration, support
and some fun! Raising Conscious
Kids Radio brings together amazing
leading experts, authors and thought
leaders on raising healthy, happy,
conscious and successful kids.
Thursdays, 10:00am
“Randazzler’s Musical Journey” with
Host Greg Randazzo
Greg has always had a love for music.
He relaxes playing drums with his
dad, and interests span from The
Beatles to Frank Sinatra,
and everything in
between.
Greg enjoys acting,
where he has played
some sinister characters
from Christmas favorites. When it
comes to movies, he's into trivia and
action thrillers. A 2014
Communications graduate of Rowan
University, Greg did a weekly
afternoon radio show on campus that
covered the South Jersey and Philly
listening area. During that time, he did
a summer internship in Hunterdon at
WDVR.
on his weekly show, "Randazzler's
Musical Journey", he hopes to engage
listeners with his “Themes of the
Week,” including rock, pop and
timeless classics.

Participate in Small
Business Saturday!
The Hunterdon County Chamber of
Commerce and the Flemington BID
are proud to participate in this year’s
Small Business Saturday, which will
be on November 29th. Founded by
American Express in 2010, it’s a day
to help businesses with their most
pressing need — getting more
customers. The day encourages
people to shop at small businesses
on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The single day has grown into a
powerful movement. Small business
owners are automatically a part of
the Shop Small Movement but to
gain free marketing tools that can
help promote your business, such as
inclusion on the Shop Small Map
and online directory, businesses are
encouraged to register online at
www.shopsmallneighborhoods.amer
cianexpress.com. There, you can
see if your business qualifies as an
American Express Card accepting
small merchant.
Ribbon Cuttings
in November
Please join the Chamber as it conducts several
ribbon cuttings for our members in the month of November.
The Chamber will be having a ribbon cutting for Global Kids, a new
preschool affiliated with Global Pioneer Academy on Friday, November
7th at 10 AM at 3485 Route 22 East in Somerville near County Line Road.
An open house celebration will follow with fun activities, musical
performances by the Global Kids and refreshments for the whole family.
Global Kids provides quality education and care daily for infants through
Kindergarten, with enrichment and after-school programs for school-age
children through age 13. Students will enjoy enrichment through language
learning programs such as Mandarin, Spanish, and American Sign
Language, in addition to a variety of academics, art, music, dance, sports
and fitness, and outdoor activities such as gardening.
The Chamber will be having a ribbon cutting for Dana Lane Photography's
new studio, located at 6 East Main Street, Suite 9 in Clinton on Thursday,
November 20th at 5:30 PM. An open House will be held until 8:30 PM.
Local officials have been invited to the ceremony. An international award
winning photographer, Dana Lane has been a professional photographer
for over 15 years. Dana Lane Photography was awarded the Best of NJ
Wedding Photographers for 2011/ 2013 by The Knot and Best of NJ
Wedding Photography 2012, 2013, 2014 Wedding Wire.
To register for these events, please visit www.hunterdon-chamber.org.
FICTION: FACT:
SOME IMAGING CENTERS SING THE PRAISES OF USING LESS
BREAST COMPRESSION IN THEIR MAMMOGRAPHY STUDIES.
LESS, THEY SAY, IS BETTER. LESS COMPRESSION, LESS DISCOMFORT.
AND THE IMAGE DETAIL IS JUST AS GOOD AS HIGHER
COMPRESSION MAMMOGRAMS.
HR
A MAMMOGRAM CAN BE UNCOMFORTABLE. BUT THEY ARE THE
BEST WAY TO DETECT DEADLY BREAST CANCER.
MORE COMPRESSION USUALLY MEANS GREATER IMAGE DETAIL
AND A MORE ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS. AND A MORE ACCURATE
DIAGNOSIS COULD SAVE YOUR BREAST – OR YOUR LIFE
At BREMS, we worry less about compression and more about results.
Our Digital Mammography with CAD (Computer Aided Detection) means that each scan is reviewed
by both a radiologist and a super-sophisticated computer program.
Now that makes our patients feel a lot more comfortable. Hunterdon Radiology. The facts speak for themselves.

Say “THANK YOU For Your Service to our
Country” by Offering Discounts to Veterans
The Hunterdon County Clerk’s
office, Hunterdon County
Division of Veterans Services
and the Hunterdon County
Chamber of Commerce have
teamed up to rally the business
community to thank our
Veterans for their service by
inviting local businesses to
provide discounts to them.
Currently the Hunterdon County
Clerk’s office offers Veteran’s
Photo Identification Cards to
Hunterdon County veterans, at
no charge, who file their U.S.
Military Service Papers and
show proof of identification and
domicile in Hunterdon County.
This ID Card will be shown at
participating retailers,
restaurants and merchants who
will offer discounts to veterans.
Some national retailers, such as
Lowe’s, offer discounts from 5%
to 15% to veterans who show
proof of their veteran status.
As a valued Chamber member,
will you consider offering a
special discount to veterans who
show their Hunterdon County
Veteran ID Card? Participating
business’s name and location
will be posted to the Hunterdon
County Chamber of Commerce’s
website along with a link from
Hunterdon County Clerk’s
website. A listing will be
distributed to local veterans
when they record their U.S.
Military Service Papers at the
Clerk’s office.
“The Chamber is very proud of
our County Clerk for being the
first in the State to offer a
Veterans Photo Identification
Card,” Chris Phelan, Chamber
President said. “The service,
sacrifice and dedication that our
Veterans have made enable the
spirit of free enterprise to exist,
we owe a debt of gratitude to our
Veterans and this is just one
small way we can show our
appreciation.”
If you are interested in providing
a discount to veterans and
having your business on the list
for distribution to Hunterdon
County Veterans, please visit the
Chamber’s website at
www.hunterdon-chamber.org to
download the Veteran’s Discount
form and return by faxing at 908782-7283 or emailing at

taxtidbits Expired Tax Breaks
on January 1, 2013, the U.S.
Congress and President obama
agreed to retroactively extend certain
tax breaks that had expired on
December 31, 2011 for 2 years.
These extensions gave both
individuals and businesses these tax
breaks on their 2012 and 2013 tax
returns. However, due to recent
Congressional inactivity, these tax
breaks have not been extended
beyond 2013. Therefore, unless
Congress enacts legislation to
retroactively extend these tax
breaks, the following are set to
expire (or have been dramatically
reduced) for 2014 or subsequent
income tax returns:
• The option for indviduals to deduct
state sales tax, instead of state
income tax, on their Form 1040,
Schedule A;
• The option for individuals to deduct
on page 1 of their Form 1040, their
allowable tuition and fees deduction
(the option to take a tax credit for
tuition and fees remains in effect);
• Tax-free IRA distributions to
charitable institutions for individuals
age 70-1/2 or over;
• The exclusion from taxation of up
to $2 million of debt
forgiveness income arising from
an individual’s primary residence;
• The maximum annual Section
179 deduction of business
equipment purchases will
dramatically decrease from
$500,000 to $25,000 for
equipment acquired in tax years
beginning after December 31,
2013;
• The 50% bonus depreciation
allowance for new business
equipment purchases will end for
equipment purchased after
December 31, 2013;
• The reduced 15 year depreciation
life for qualified leasehold
improvement property, qualified
restaurant property, and qualified
retail improvement property; and
• The research tax credit for
expenditures made to discover
information that is technological in
nature, which had previously been
extended several times, is also set to
expire.
year, individuals and businesses
must do their 2014 year-end tax
planning based on the assumptions
that these expired tax breaks will not
be extended in the near future.
We can help you navigate these
confusing changes to assist with
your 2014 year-end tax planning.

Give a Little Holiday Cheer to a Neighbor in Need this Year Through
United Way of Hunterdon County’s Holiday Hands Program
Did you know it costs about $76,000
for a family of four to barely get by in
Hunterdon County? These
challenging economic times coupled
with Hunterdon County’s high cost of
living make it increasingly difficult for
low-to-moderate income families,
elderly residents and others with
special needs to make ends meet,
which is especially poignant during
the holiday season.
“The difference you have made with
just a few gifts is more than you will
ever know. I fully intend to return the
favor and help a family in need when
I get back on my feet.” This quote is
from one of the many thank you
letters to generous donors who
supported United Way of Hunterdon
ExxonMobil donated a fleet of bicycles
to the 2013 Holiday Hands program.
County’s Holiday Hands program,
which served more than 2,500
individuals in need in 2013.
Getting involved in Holiday Hands is
easy. United Way will match
individuals or organizations with a
family and/or individual and provide
their wish list. Unwrapped gifts
and/or gift cards are brought to the
United Way of Hunterdon County’s
office by December 6, 2014. Gift
cards are always needed, especially
for individuals and family that are not
“adopted”.
If you, your company or your
organization are interested in
learning more about adopting a
family or volunteering this holiday
season, please contact Amy
Andersen at (908) 782-3414,
ext. 24 or via email at
amy@uwhunterdon.org.
United Way is working to advance
the common good by focusing on
education, income, and health.
These are the building blocks for a
good life - a quality education that
leads to a stable job, enough income
to support a family through
retirement, and good health. Your
participation in Holiday Hands makes
a significant impact to ensure that
local families will experience the
wonder of the holidays, and it is a
remarkable way for your family, your
office, your organization or your
friends and you to LIVE UNITED by
investing in improving lives and
conditions in our community.
