And that fan will be surprised — maybe even a little miffed — to discover it’s not available, even though it’s released this week. Consumers have been trained for decades to expect new albums to hit the street on Tuesdays, and while other products — including books and some DVDs — will continue to launch that same day, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry has synchronized most of the world to a new schedule, with music now arriving on FriJACKSON days, beginning July 10. Jackson’s album is the first major release by a country star to reach the market under the Friday plan, pegged to July 17, while Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights, due Aug. 7, will be the first country album to hit stores with the support of a top 10 single, assuming “Kick the Dust Up” (No. 8, Country Airplay) continues on its current trajectory. That makes Bryan in particular a bit of a guinea pig for Music Row, which will no doubt be watching the album’s performance closely as Universal Music Group Nashville contends with some expected issues and perhaps some others that could not have been predicted. “My plan is to have it hopefully worked through by Aug. 7 when the Luke Bryan comes out,” UMGN COO Tom Becci says, “because it’ll likely be one of the biggest records in country music and all music this year.” The global release date is a direct result of digital music’s growth. Previously, different countries operated with their own standard release schedules. Australia, for example, went to market on Thursday, Germany hit on Friday, the United Kingdom released on Monday, and the United States followed on Tuesday. While that was suitable for physical retailers, it created BRYAN piracy problems for manufacturers in the digital era as rabid British and American fans could illegally download music before it became available in their homeland. “We can watch it pop up on all these sites the minute it’s released,” says Becci, “so we really need to have a global date specifically for the major, major artists. It’s a huge issue.” But the solution is creating other issues, some of them predictable. Billboard, for example, has revised its charting period. All charts built on Nielsen Music sales data and/or streaming information will shift from a Monday- JACKSON: BECKY FLUKE/UNIVERSAL PICTURES; BRYAN: ED RODE INSIDE JULY 13, 2015 | PAGE 1 OF 20 to-Sunday cycle to a Friday-to-Thursday model. As a result, charts that were previously published on Thursdays — including Country Albums and the multis ource Hot Country Songs — will now be available Mondays, leading to the Billboard Country Update’s revision to a once-a-week publication, beginning with the current issue. Less predictable are some of the marketplace concerns created by Friday releases. Artists typically make the bulk of their income by touring on weekends and may now find themselves in remote markets on the date an album is released, unable to capitalize on some same-day marketing opportunities. The Friday release puts recorded music in more direct competition with some other entertainment options — including movie releases, sporting events and even live music — during the weekend. And, most importantly, questions remain about retailers’ ability to react in a timely fashion if they sell out of stock unexpectedly on a Friday. Under the previous scenario, a surprise blockbuster would show life on the Tuesday it was released, and wholesale rackjobbers — primarily Anderson Merchandisers — had three days to restock shelves before the high-volume weekend traffic. With the global release date, there could be circumstances in which an album sells out Friday, distribution centers are unaware of the trend until Monday, and therefore are unable to restock until Tuesday or Wednesday, essentially missing five days of potential sale on a hot product. “Physical sales in our genre, especially in the first weeks of a record’s life, can still be 50 percent [of volume],” says BBR Music Group senior vp/GM Rick Shedd. “So it’s not insignificant by any means.” How best to promote those albums is also a conundrum. Album reviews had already grown infrequent. Consumer publications that might have previously run them on Monday or Tuesday are now faced with Thursday or Friday run dates, where they compete for attention with movie reviews or concert information. And where artists could once gang up on talk shows from Monday through Thursday to call attention to a release date, the weekend now splits a similar four-day run. Artists can garner Friday release-date exposure on Thursday and Friday, while Monday and Tuesday serve as something of a post-weekend mop-up period. It’s not clear if press on those days after a release will be as effective as it was in the past when those days coincided with a new release. “Like with any change, there are going to be kinks to work out, so we’re all going to have to try to be patient and address them and move forward,” says American Association of Independent Music vp Molly Neuman. Some pieces of the puzzle are clear. Marketing in social media is expected to be easier for releases with an international footprint. In the past, the jumble of release dates required multiple messages that were tailored for specific countries. Now one message can apply to the entire world. Additional weekend follow-up postings are likely to reach more consumers, arriving at a time when people are more involved on Facebook or Twitter. “My social media department is pretty excited because they like the engagement they get over the weekends,” says Faithe Parker, managing partner for Marbaloo Marketing, a digital marketing company working the Jackson and Bryan albums, as well as other projects. “I know that my press team is a little more cautious in their excitement toward the move, knowing that the major TVs will come in after three days now and that a lot of our publications don’t have full-time weekend staff.” Marbaloo could not have existed before the Internet, creating some irony, since it’s online behavior that has created the need for a global release date. “It certainly changes things,” she says of the new Friday standard. “But I think the music industry has become accustomed to change. We’ve all had to be flexible for a long time now, and I think this is just the next round of that.” That’s perhaps easier in some other territories that have now gone almost exclusively to digital downloads and streaming. But in the country genre, its key suburban heartland shoppers still frequent box stores, making the new release date a major issue. If slower restocking time leads to decreased sales, retail could reduce its commitment to recorded music even more than it already has. “The consolidation of titles and space is alarming at physical retail,” says Shedd. “They’re running a business. I just don’t want anything else to have further impact on that.” Country’s guinea-pig projects will likely provide some insight, particularly Bryan’s album, since it’s supported by a current hit and Bryan is expected to be aggressive in promoting it. “That’ll be a really wonderful case study,” says Parker, “for how people should use the new release date in the future.” JULY 13, 2015 | PAGE 2 OF 20 Hunter Hayes dropped in at KKGO Los Angeles on July 9 to support his single “21.” From left are Warner Music Nashville West Coast regional Rick Young, KKGO PD Tonya Campos, Hayes and KKGO station manager Michael Levine. The story of a woman’s obsession with another woman who stole her man away, “Crush” is now in its 12th week in the top spot, the longest stretch by a group (of at least three members) in the 56-year history of the chart. The Browns’ “The Three Bells,” the runner-up for the honor, led for 10 weeks in 1959. “Crush,” written by Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey and Liz Rose, and which has surely benefitted from controversy regarding its lyrical content, is sung by LBT’s Karen Fairchild, who says that she knew the song was special from the first time that she heard it. “As a singer, you can only hope to get a chance to deliver something as beautifully written as ‘Girl Crush.’ I knew this would be an important song, because I knew the way it hit me when I heard it the first time. It’s rare to hear a [lyrical] take on a song that you’ve never heard before. All I wanted to do was live up to the song. I love telling this story.” On Country Airplay, “Crush” rises 5-4 (38.5 million, up 7 percent). CHART ELEVATOR Steven Tyler is certainly accustomed to making headlines with his iconic rock band Aerosmith, but this week he adds to his budding solo country legacy, as “Love Is Your Name” (Dot) debuts at No. 1 on Country Streaming Songs with 3.3 million U.S. streams, up 1,278 percent, following the July 3 premiere of its official video. The clip sparks the track’s re-entry at a new peak, No. 19, on Hot Country Songs. It previously ranked as high as No. 27 upon its debut on the May 30 chart. SMITH NEW CHART SCHEDULE Easton Corbin’s About to Get Real logs a second week at No. 1 on Top Country Albums, moving 25,000 copies. The Mercury/UMGN one-two punch stays intact as Kacey Musgraves’ Pageant Material ranks at No. 2 for a second week (24,000). The latter album bowed at No. 1 on the July 11 survey. As previously reported, the July 25 charts mark the first reflecting the new Nielsen Music tracking schedule enacted with the switch to a Friday global release date. With Friday now the new release day for most major albums (which began July 10), Nielsen Music has altered its sales tracking week to Friday through Thursday, from the traditional Monday through Sunday. The July 18 Top Country Albums chart was the last to reflect the Monday-through-Sunday tracking frame (for the week ending July 5). The next chart (dated Aug. 1) will be the first to use Friday-through-Thursday tracked data (for the week ending July 16). Meanwhile, the current July 25 Top Country Albums chart acts as a transition tally between the two different tracking cycles, and reflects a one-time-only 11-day sales tracking frame (ending July 9). As for Hot Country Songs, going forward, sales and streaming will reflect a Friday-through-Thursday period, and airplay will cover Monday through Sunday. All details are at Billboard.com/globalreleasedate. JIM WRIGHT/UMG NASHVILLE Canaan Smith achieves his first No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart (dated July 25), as “Love You Like That” (Mercury/Universal Music Group Nashville) jumps 4-1. The song reigns with Most Increased Audience honors (up 21 percent to 48.3 million impressions, according to Nielsen Music) in its 49th week, tying David Nail’s “Let It Rain” (featuring Sarah Buxton) in 2012 for having completed the second-longest rise to the top. The longest run to No. 1 is held by Chris Young’s “Voices”: 51 weeks, having reached the summit in 2011 (over two release cycles, however). “I consider myself the happiest and luckiest dude on the planet right now,” says Smith. “Because of country radio, I’m livin’ my dream.” BILLBOARD COUNTRY UPDATE THIS WEEK LAST WEEK WKS ON CHART l 2 l 4 JULY 13, 2015 | PAGE 6 OF 20 Country Airplay AIRPLAY MONITORED BY AUDIENCE (IN MILLIONS) PLAYS TITLE Imprint/LabelArtist THIS WEEK +/– THIS WEEK +/– RANK 49 LOVEYOU LIKETHAT M ercury Canaan Smith 48.301 +8.435 8124 1378 1 2 17 TONIGHT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU B roken Bow Jason Aldean 48.265 +2.337 7975 453 2 3 1 17 SANGRIA W arner Bros./WMN Blake Shelton 45.677 -3.973 7323 -744 3 l 5 l 6 l 5 31 GIRL CRUSH C apitol Nashville Little Big Town 38.482 +2.663 6637 560 4 6 35 ONE HELL OF AN AMEN V alory Brantley Gilbert 38.175 +4.503 6404 758 5 7 22 KISS YOU IN THE MORNING W arner Bros./WEA Michael Ray 36.424 +3.651 5987 549 6 7 3 44 BABY BE MY LOVE SONG M ercury Easton Corbin 35.588 -6.082 5801 -1239 7 8 l 9 l 1 l0 11 l 1 l2 13 l 1 l4 15 l 1 l6 17 l 18 l 1 l9 20 l 21 l 2 l2 23 l 24 l 25 l 2 l6 27 l 2 l8 29 l 30 l 9 8 KICK THE DUST UP C apitol Nashville Luke Bryan 33.259 +3.272 5752 644 8 12 27 YOUNG & CRAZY W arner Bros./WAR 10 12 LOVING YOU EASY J ohn Varvatos/Republic/BMLG/Southern Ground 11 25 CRUSHIN’ IT A rista Nashville 13 36 HELL OF A NIGHT B roken Bow 14 23 HOUSE PARTY M CA Nashville 15 14 CRASH AND BURN V alory 16 21 LIKE A WRECKING BALL E MI Nashville 17 11 BUY ME A BOAT W arner Bros./WAR 18 12 LOSE MY MIND A tlantic/WMN 1 4 19 5 20 25 21 7 HH No. 1 (1 week)/ Most Increased Audience HH JOHN COUGAR, JOHN DEERE, JOHN 3:16 H it Red/Capitol Nashville REAL LIFE R CA Nashville 22 36 GONNA WANNA TONIGHT D ack Janiels/Columbia Nashville 14 LET ME SEE YA GIRL W arner Bros./WMN 23 25 I’M TO BLAME M CA Nashville 26 21 NOTHIN’ LIKE YOU W arner Bros./WAR 25 17 LONG STRETCH OF LOVE C apitol Nashville 27 24 BREAK UP WITH HIM R CA Nashville 33 4 SAVE IT FOR A RAINY DAY B lue Chair/Columbia Nashville 31 5 ANYTHING GOES R epublic Nashville 40 3 BURNING HOUSE A rista Nashville 29 26 31.155 +2.875 5354 541 9 30.879 +1.943 5024 238 11 Brad Paisley 29.448 +0.813 5346 145 10 Dustin Lynch 28.529 +3.180 4825 440 12 Sam Hunt 27.381 +3.364 4447 429 13 Thomas Rhett 22.728 +2.285 3936 359 14 HH Airpower HH FLY D ot 24 Frankie Ballard Zac Brown Band Eric Church 21.694 +1.360 3812 146 15 Chris Janson 21.365 +1.732 3760 273 16 Brett Eldredge 20.580 +2.011 3557 245 17 Keith Urban 18.345 +3.270 2992 655 18 Maddie & Tae 14.841 +0.858 2911 169 19 Jake Owen 14.476 +1.160 2657 322 22 Chase Rice 14.045 +1.114 2808 304 20 Cole Swindell 13.718 +1.757 2512 286 23 Kip Moore 13.291 +1.291 2800 156 21 Dan + Shay 11.855 +1.421 2302 411 26 Lady Antebellum 11.836 +0.321 2349 136 24 Old Dominion 11.070 +0.773 1800 132 30 33 Kenny Chesney 10.550 +3.732 1649 571 Florida Georgia Line 9.733 +1.654 1746 274 31 HH Most Added/Breaker HHCam 9.670 +6.405 1718 1047 32 Big & Rich 9.289 +0.725 2307 137 25 RUN AWAY WITH YOU B $R/New Revolution HH Breaker HH NOW, ONE WEEKLY EDITION, EVERY MONDAY Country The country music industry’s must-have source for news, charts, analysis and features. The first-ever country show at the venue, which has presented only a handful of concerts since 1994, featured Florida Georgia Line, Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett and Dustin Lynch in a five-and-a-half-hour presentation that — thanks to a 104-degree heat index just before starting time — turned the artists and the crowd into sweat faucets. There were no “tomatoes” in the day’s lineup, though there were plenty of women in the crowd. That audience appeared to have a median age of 28 — a much younger demographic than a country show would have in another era — and the old stereotype about country music being sad songs for the working class has been replaced by a new mantra: party on. While country was once its own niche format, it’s now seamlessly interwoven with the rest of culture in the 21st century. That was evident in the influences at play during the night: FGL threaded hip-hop moves and phrasing into its set, Lynch leaned on power chords for three of his five titles, Rhett ladled plenty of R&B into his performance, and Bryan used a beatbox app from a cellphone to build an off-the-cuff segment into his set. Additionally, the covers that were played that evening showed how much country is overlapping with other genres. Outside of “Mountain Music” — which Bryan performed with FGL — the non-genre material included Rhett’s energetic take on Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk!,” Houser’s successful (and brave) rendering of the challenging Sam Smith ballad “Stay With Me” and a dynamite performance of Maroon 5’s “Sugar” that had Bryan, Houser, Lynch and Rhett trading falsetto lines and laying down impressive harmonies. It’s all appropriate for Bryan, the reigning entertainer of the year for both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music, who won the trophies in great part for his good-natured, self-deprecating, next-doorneighbor persona. His set list included a bundle of upbeat, sing-along pieces — “Country Girl (Shake It for Me),” “Drunk On You” and “Rain Is a Good Thing,” among them — though it’s perhaps notable that the song that most endured the next day was the memorial “Drink a Beer.” That was likewise true for three of the other four acts as Florida Georgia Line’s life-affirming “Dirt,” Houser’s acoustic powerhouse “Like a Cowboy” and Lynch’s traditionally flavored “Cowboys and Angels” all made the biggest emotional impact in an otherwise good-timing set. Thus, if there’s a sweeping cultural generalization to be made from a soldout country stadium concert, it’s that in an era of growing economic inequality — when workers are asked to invest more hours, accomplish more and settle for comparatively less compensation — blue-collar America relates well to the escapist nature of country’s current format. The working class wants — indeed, deserves — a good time. In the process, those party songs elevate the impact of the most meaningful material. K.T. That spot was officially filled when new CEO Randy Goodman started July 13, but he walked into a situation where the staff doesn’t always need direction to do the right thing. The evidence lies in Cam’s second Arista single, “Burning House,” released in a flurry after it generated a buzz on the syndicated Bobby Bones Show. She performed the song, a fragile ode to a torched relationship, during her May 29 Grand Ole Opry debut, and when she appeared on Bones’ show on June 10, he asked her to reprise it. Cam played just one verse and chorus of “Burning House,” and it became the fastest-rising country download on iTunes, bolting from obscurity into the top 20 that day. No CEO was required to organize a reaction — the Sony departments huddled quickly and decided to release the track to country radio via Play MPE on June 16. It entered the Country Airplay chart dated July 11 at No. 48, making it the highest debut of the week. It’s bolted to No. 29 in its third charted week, indicating the label’s belief was well-founded. “I’m assuming that’s normally very hard for a corporation to turn on a dime like that, but Sony Music made it look like it was nothing,” CAM recalls Cam. “We had a meeting with everyone that represented every department, and everyone was like, ‘We’re gonna do this .’ ” In fact, “Burning House” was the song that convinced Sony to sign her — the song that caught Overton’s ear, the one that got the attention of RCA Music Group CEO Peter Edge in New York and the one that led Sony chairman/ CEO Doug Morris to offer her a deal on the spot when she played it at his Manhattan office. Even before it was a completed song, producer Jeff Bhasker (Fun, Bruno Mars) wanted in on writing it because he was convinced of its potential. “That song seemed like it would be the flagship song, a song that I could take to anyone and play it and be like, ‘Wow, that’s just a winner,’ ” he says. “It’s [already] a hit in that sense.” In another sense, it’s a positive result from an unhappy event. Cam had been in an on-again, off-again relationship during her collegiate years at the University of California-Davis, and when she broke it off the last time, she did it rudely. Two years later, she was invited to a party that her ex would be attending. The prior night, she plotted how to apologize, and when she went to sleep, she dreamed he was on the floor of his home in flames, with firefighters warning onlookers that it was too dangerous to rescue him. In the dream she rushed into the burning house, ready to die alongside him. The next morning, Cam Skyped songwriter/producer Tyler Johnson (“My Mistake”) in Los Angeles and recounted her vision. A devoted Metallica fan, he had long wanted to write a song that mimicked the acoustic guitar opening in “Nothing Else Matters,” and as he formed his own quiet riff over the phone, he fashioned her story in two off-the-cuff opening lines that alternate between standard 4/4 time and 3/4 bars: “I had a dream about a burning house/You were stuck inside, I couldn’t get you out.” It was all they had, but when they next saw each other, Cam and Johnson talked about it near a campfire and recorded the snippet with the logs crackling in the background. Johnson later played that piece for Bhasker while the two men were moving furniture, and Bhasker was struck by the melody — and by the snap of that fire coupled with the image of a burning house. By the next morning, he had come up with a chorus for the tune, and the trio finished it up in a couple days of writing and recording at Bhasker’s home studio in the Venice neighborhood in Los Angeles. Cam came up with a staggered, hesitant prechorus that rises in optimism, only to tail off with resignation before the hook. And when they reached the bridge, they took a unique approach, alternating three new musical lines with three repeats of the chorus’ final phrase, “In this burning house.” “Whenever you can repeat words in a song and it’s natural, you know you’re doing something right,” says Johnson. “I’ve never been involved in a bridge like that, where the repetition comes in the bridge.” Johnson played the guitar that day, but he couldn’t make the last four notes of the central riff work. They later hired Cam’s guitarist, Doug Showalter, to redo the part. He was able to thread the four notes together, though he could never replicate the emotional impact in Johnson’s playing, so Bhasker spliced their two performances together. Bhasker added a subtle acoustic piano, and they also recorded bass and drums, but ultimately decided to mute them in the final product, opting for a stripped-down take. “A lot of times, a production might just be there to make up for anything that the song is lacking,” explains Bhasker. “If you’ve got a great song, you let it shine, and I always personally try to write a song that stands on its own, that can just be played with a guitar and piano.” There were some other additions. They found a crackling fire in a soundeffects library and laid that underneath. “It’s not very overt at all,” says Bhasker, “but I did kind of think that that needed to be on there.” Johnson also commissioned a string arrangement from Oakland musician Hamilton Ulmer, then recorded three players in Nashville, stacking each three times to form a nine-voice ensemble. Cam sang the song repeatedly with the lights down low to set the mood at Bhasker’s studio, then went at it again several months later, using portions from both days to build the final performance. “Those vocals took a long, long time — lots of choices and takes,” says Johnson. “She sings everything great. There’s not a pitch issue, there’s not a timing issue, but when you get into that great of quality, it’s about that 1 percent. That’s what sets the difference between Adele and the 100,000 other girls that want to be Adele — it’s that last 1 percent.” A good percentage of the song’s development is now complete. Cam got to apologize to her ex-boyfriend in what turned out to be a much less dramatic conversation than she had imagined. Meanwhile, as “Burning House” spreads to a wider audience — thanks, in part, to Sony’s decision to make it a single — it’s having a dramatic effect on many who hear it. Women who meet Cam at concerts have pointed to guys in the audience who represented their burning house. And there’ve been even more heartbreaking stories. “I’ve had at least three people who’ve told me that they’ve lost loved ones in house fires, and this song — on another, obviously more literal, level — means so much to them,” says Cam. “The main thing is just that it connects.” BILLBOARD COUNTRY UPDATE JULY 13, 2015 | PAGE 15 OF 20 THE STARK REPORT PHYLLIS STARK phyllis.stark@billboard.com Eye-Opening Stats Show The Success Rates (Or Lack Thereof) For New Country Acts A new research study offers some startling statistics about the success rate for both male and female artists in country music, along with a few surprises. The research was conducted by Devarati Ghosh, a New York-based political economist and Stanford University Ph.D. candidate who has been blogging about country music on the popular site MJs Big Blog for several years under the screen name “Deb G.” Extremely knowledgeable about country music, Ghosh says she “fell into blogging about the country music charts due to an intersection of passion for the music and a curiosity about chart outcomes.” The research cited here, all based on Billboard’s CounGHOSH try Airplay chart (and the Hot Country Songs chart before that when it reflected only airplay), was commissioned for the most recent meeting of the Nashville-based Change the Conversation group, which is working to bring gender parity to country music. Ghosh broke down her findings into three eight-year periods: 1992-1999, when Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack all debuted; 2000-2007, when Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Sara Evans and Taylor Swift emerged; and 2008 through 2015 (to date), when Cassadee Pope, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini were among the new female artists scoring top 20 hits or better. During the 1992-1999 time frame, major labels introduced 41 new solo female artists and 67 new male artists to radio. (Ghosh also included Big Machine Label Group, Curb Records and DreamWorks Records in this category for all time periods studied.) Of those, 44 percent of the women and 42 percent of the men landed a top 20 hit. From there, 89 percent of the women with a first top 20 single went on to score a second, as did 86 percent of the men. Things get a bit bleaker from 2000-2007, when the majors introduced 43 new women and 56 new men. In that period, 40 percent of the women and 55 percent of the men landed a top 20 single. Among the new female artists of this period, 53 percent of those with a first hit also had a second (a significant drop from the 1992-1999 period), while 71 percent of the males scored a second hit. However, the 2008 through 2015 time frame is where things look really Country UPDATE grim. In the period of 2008 until the present, the majors have introduced 31 women and 51 men to country radio, but just 32 percent of the women scored a top 20 single, compared with 57 percent of the men. Seventy-five percent of the new male hit-makers of this time period subsequently scored a second top 20 single. But shockingly, in seven-and-a-half years, not one of the 10 women with a first top 20 hit has landed a second one. (Kramer seems poised to be the first since her “I Got the Boy” is ascending the chart. And while it’s not included with these solo act statistics, it’s worth noting that female duo Maddie & Tae recently cracked the top 20 with its second hit, “Fly.”) One thing that hasn’t changed much — despite the perception that females are getting fewer opportunities — is the percentage of new acts introduced in these time periods that are women. That statistic has remained fairly consistent (in the 38-41 percent range for solo acts) through all three periods. But in the most recent time frame, those women have experienced disproportionately lower success at country radio, according to the research. Ghosh found that from 1992-1999, females represented 38 percent of the new solo acts that the big labels were bringing to country radio, as well as 38 percent of the new solo acts scoring their first top 20 hit and 39 percent of the new solo acts scoring at least two top 20 hits. From 2000-2007, females represented 41 percent of the new solo acts being brought to country radio, 35 percent of the new solo acts with a top 20 hit and 29 percent of the new solo acts with at least two hits. From 2008 through 2015, females again represented 38 percent of the new solo acts, but only 26 percent of them scored their first top 20 hit and, so far, none of the new solo acts have notched a second hit. As Ghosh writes in a recent blog post, “What we see is that the proportion of solo females being brought to country radio remained pretty steady over the three … blocks, but [their] success rate … has declined significantly. Meanwhile, success rates for men in scoring initial radio success have climbed, while the success rates for solo men in consolidating initial radio success have remained considerably higher.” Get your message front and center with top country radio programmers and other key music influencers THE COUNTRY MUSIC INDUSTRY’S MUST-HAVE SOURCE FOR NEWS ANALYSIS AND CHART INFO.
