With more than 25 years of experience, Martins was founder and co-owner of International Music Network (IMN) and helped to develop it into one of the leading jazz and world music agencies. She was also the western states representative for Monterey International from 2009-2012. AnneMarie is a recognized leader in the industry. Carlos Nuñez – www.Carlos-Nunez.com From Galicia Spain, Celtic musician Carlos Nunez is a star in Spain and renowned throughout Europe and South America having sold over 1 million albums. As a frequent guest of the Chieftains in concerts and on recordings, bagpiper Carlos Nunez has thrilled Celtic music fans worldwide. His own debut album Brotherhood of Stars, which features an array of international musicians, went platinum in Spain having broken every sales record for Celtic music in that country. The Los Angeles Times raves about him, “if it’s possible to become a pop star playing bagpipes, Nunez could be the man.” Indeed, other critics have called him the Jimi Hendrix of bagpipes. Now the versatile four-member Carlos Nunez Band performs infectious Celtic Music from Northern Spain. The acoustic instrumentation includes Carlos on flutes, bagpipes, a percussionist, a bouzouki player and a fiddler. Carlos often performs with symphonies and has charts. Summer 2013. Flamenco Festival – www.FlamencoFestival.org Touring in March 2014 will be an ensemble of 5 different companies from Spain including renowned singer ESTRELLA MORENTE, Dance company EVA YERBABUENA, and Guitarist TOMATITO with his ensemble. This is an annual Festival event produced in NYC, Washington DC, Miami and Boston. We will be booking other Festival weekends off of these main events and also creating entire tours for each of the companies. Festivals can also include workshops, photography exhibits, student shows, and more to round out the event. March 2014 Also booking BALLET FLAMENCO ANDALUCIA for June 2013. GRUBB – (Gypsy Roma Urban Balkan Beats) – www.grubbmusic.com “GRUBB” are a collective of young Roma teenagers (age 14-18). They offer a modern and excitingly authentic approach to the traditional music of their Romanian roots, adding dance, magic and photography to create an exceptional and unforgettable theatrical experience. In the creation of an extraordinarily original musical blend of rap, hip hop and pop combined with the rich influence of their gypsy history the are bringing Roma music into the 21st century! The show is theatrical in nature and tells a moving story of their lives that varies from universal themes of first loves and friendships to the struggles that are unique to the Romani people. Their debut weeklong appearance at the 2012 Montreal Jazz Festival was a highlight event! Touring company is comprised of 21 singers, dancers and musicians. He is a singer, songwriter, dancer, anthropologist and a musical activist whose infectious crossover music, a vibrant blend of Western pop and African Zulu rhythms, has exploded onto the international scene and broken through all the barriers in his own country. A proud fifth generation mariachi musician, Maestro Hernandez’ mariachi roots trace back to 1879 to the birthplace of mariachi, the State of Jalisco, Mexico. He is also the first mariachi musician to have arranged, composed and conducted for numerous international symphony orchestras. Mayra Andrade - www.mayra-andrade.com This Cape Verdean songstress made a name for herself as a songwriter and performer in her adolescence. By her early twenties she was an established talent, known throughout the Parisian world music scene for her keen writing and adept vocals. Paco de Lucia – www.PacodeLucia.org Considered by many as one of the finest guitar players in any genre, Paco de Lucia has long been heralded as the greatest flamenco guitarist in the world. One of the very few flamenco guitarists who have crossed over into other genres of music, he has proven successful in classical and jazz and has been credited with creating a hybrid flamenco form. With mesmerizing cascades of high velocity notes, Paco de Lucia’s performances offer superb playing, dancing and singing in an ensemble of eight. Available by special request. Richard Galliano – www.RichardGalliano.com In 1991 following the advise of his friend Astor Piazzolla, Galliano went back to his roots (traditional repertoire of the ValsesMusette, and Tangos that he had long disregarded). In so doing, he managed to rid the accordion of it’s old fashioned image by introducing a whole new rhythmic concept and harmonic style to adapt it to jazz. He called his new approach “New Musette” and the CD he recorded then won him the Academie du Jazz’s Django Reinhardt prize for “French Musician of the Year” in 1993. This led to a whole series of recordings where he has adapted his signature Victoria accordion to jazz and broken down musical barriers with an instrument that cuts across all genres. A prolific composer, he has recorded many albums in classical as well as jazz formats . He has a prolific repertoire from Bach to Nino Rota, and since the premature death of Astor Piazzolla in 1992, world renown accordionist Richard Galliano continues to celebrate the musical universe of his friend and mentor. A new project entitled “Piazzolla Forever” will tour in the Septet format during 2012 & 2013. Festivals June – July 2013 (w/ Septet “PIazzolla Forever” and “Bach to Piazzolla” presentations) or Spring 2014 (performing arts tour) Rhythm Safari – www.RhythmSafariShow.com Is a unique, interactive, theatrical music show that will have you moving to the rhythm of the drum! The journey around the globe begins as the audience walks into the theatre to discover their very own drum and “groove tube” on their seats. A visual and sensory celebration, the stage features an expert ensemble of percussionists, musicians, singers and dancers playing original, contemporary and world music. Master drummer Sibo introduces the audience to his world, when he hears a call from his ancestors. The audience will not only follow him, but also have the opportunity of joining him as he leaves Africa and experiences the beats and grooves of Spain, Asia, the Caribbean and Brazil. Audience participation is the point and audiences find themselves enjoying the creative soundscapes and talking beats as they join in and follow along! Fall 2013 Salif Keita – www.myspace.com/SalifKeitaMusic For over 40 years he has been a leading figure in the music of not only Mali and Africa in general. His bands are filled with traditional and contemporary instrumentation and Salif is always looking toward modern sounds and influences to combine with tradition. Mali has always been a melting pot for various musical styles, mainly because it stands as the last outpost of black Africa. Arabic, French, Spanish and local Malian traditions have influenced the music. His most recent album “La Difference” on Universal Records, has been received with great critical acclaim. Salif will tour in Summer 2013 to support a new album project.
