The Idea Newsletter For Auto Racing Promoters
Issue41.11 The Idea Newsletter For Auto Racing Promoters Pre-Season Preview, Buyers’ Guide Thirty-Ninth Workshops Exhibitors Each winter, more than 50 companies participate in the RPM Promoters Workshops. Many promoters take advantage of the Workshops’ one-stop shopping opportunity. For the benefit of those who do not attend the Workshops, we publish this “Buyers’ Guide.” Readers will recognize the ads of longtime suppliers to promoters and longtime Workshops supporters. Each year, there are new companies as well. If you are new to promotion and looking for services and products, this guide has what you need. You can use it now to gather the tools and services you will need to operate, and you can file it in your desk drawer, glove compartment, or briefcase for reference later. If you’re a veteran, make sure you take a look inside because besides the ads you expect to see, there are first-time exhibitors looking to meet promoters. Don’t miss the chance to meet with the exhibitors. These new Commercial Registrants support you by coming to the Workshops. They do their part to make possible our yearround publishing and our reasonable registration fees. Most offer more products and services than shown here. If you don’t see what you need, give them a call, check their Websites, or send them an e-mail inquiry. They deserve first chance to earn your business. Even if what you need isn’t listed in the ads, discuss your needs with them. Call them today, and make them your first choice for equipment and supplies. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER: Terms/Conditions 39th Annual RPM Promoters Workshops Credential Application--Reno 20111/Speedweek 2012 Reasons Successful Promoters Never Miss the Workshops 1 Top Ten List! 5 “I CAN’T EXPECT DIFFERENT RESULTS IF I DO THINGS THE SAME WAY!” Someone said, “Insanity is doing things the same way and expecting different results.” If your car counts and attendance are not what you would like, you won’t increase them doing next season what you did this season. The Workshops will give you the motivation and ideas to reach your goals for 2012. “I TALK WITH PROMOTERS WITH SIMILAR OPERATIONS.” At the Workshops you will become acquainted with promoters whose operations are like yours... except they won’t be your neighbors, so you’ll be able to talk with them unreservedly, compare results, bounce ideas, and see how well things you’d like to try worked for them. They’ll shoot straight, and you can too. 2 “I MAKE FRIENDS I CAN COMPARE WITH ALL YEAR.” Promoters at the Workshops put together working groups, friends with similar racing classes, in similar markets, facing common challenges, but who operate distant tracks, and they confer sometimes every Monday throughout the season, comparing their race nights and bouncing ideas around. 3 “I GET IDEAS THAT SELL MORE TICKETS.” Selling tickets is as difficult as it’s ever been, but successful promoters still draw good crowds even in troubled economic times. They do it with a combination of hard work and creativity, trying new things constantly--or reinventing proven ideas that are decades old, and they’ll share their experience in sessions and in hallways or over coffee, helping you make the best of a poor economic environment 9 “I GET IDEAS THAT SELL MORE SPONSORS.” In all but the tiniest communities sponsorship makes a big bottom line difference. In hallways and in sessions throughout “I CAN NETWORK WITH VENDORS.” the Workshops many of the best at Workshops vendors don’t just sell sponsorship exchange ideas and share stuff; they are a resource.
