The Knitter family was quite an average family, there were the
father, the mother, two children, a dog, a cat and a canary. And it was
precisely the canary who, in an extremely hot day, began to teach them
how to fly.
When holidays come, the whole family will decide to fly to their
destination. Thus they will reach an island that looks like paradise. The
days spent on the island fells like a dream, but every dream has to come
to an end, or so says the father.
So that the family unwillingly prepares to fly back home,
although… Is that true that every dream comes to an end?

Grandfather Manolo was painter and, jumping from one scaffolding to

a cool corner at home, in her rocking chair, she spent her time peeling peas.
Thus begins this sweet love story, built in the best tradition of the
magic realism. Where grandma’s patient work will somehow save the life of
this grandfather, a man who, light as feather, spends his day flying through
and fro, causing all the neighbours to stare at him in awe, thinking that one
day or another something bad will happen.
But the neighbours haven’t taking into account the power of love, a
force capable to achieve the unbelievable.

One day in the city strange things happen: some people swear they
have seen a cow strolling by, two painters fall from the scaffolding they
are working on, but luckily fall onto a white mattress that has some
peculiar black stains; some thieves can’t escape because something is
obstructing their way … Indeed at dusk, between the night breeze and
the morning buzzing, a cow leaves town and goes back to the meadow.
A delicate tale written by Juan Arjona and illustrated by Luciano

power of coincidence that sometimes make our life a little bit more
unpredictable, surprising and easy.

Without a shadow of doubt, the river is the best place for a
crocodile, at least this is what the elderly crocodile thinks as the river’s
current gently rocks him. The Mister in the red suit had never heard
of that ancient Greek philosopher who said that you can’t bathe twice
in the same river. One day, the Mister in the red suit reaches the
crocodiles’ river putting forward a contract and a little bottle of water
taken out of the river that he had just bought: he is the new river owner
and the crocodile must leave. The elderly crocodile does not agree with
him… Gustavo Roldán tells a simple story that reminds us that there
are things that you can’t sell nor buy.

YA. NUNCA
ALREADY. NEVER
In this book words and images intertwine with each other in a
poetic way to shape a person’s journey through life. Some things in
life mark a deep change between the past and the future to come,
things that, once you do them, change your understanding and vision
of the world. ALREADY. NEVER is a book that is built upon a couple
of sentences: the things the narrator has already done and the ones
he’ll never do, and whose meaning come to life thanks to an image
that dialogues both with the impossible and the lost innocence. Thus
the reader naturally begins a contemplative process, which rhythm is
established by the inquiries and the silence of a black human shape.

THE IMAGINED BODY
Mar Benegas, text
Guridi, illustrations
18 x 32 cm | 38 pp | Japanese binding

The ABC of the imagined body is a work that with only 27 haikus
and 459 syllables is able to talk to the reader of the lucidity and
complexity of the human body, and how it fits into the world as part
of the nature. Since the haiku is a synthetic poetical form, the writer
Mar Benegas get rid of anything unnecessary leaving only the exact
words, that become flash of understanding, the promise of something
important. Guridi’s illustrations are based on the relationship between
body and nature, so that flowers, leaves, blades of grass become clothes
for the human being and for the emotions that compose his life.
This book also includes a short text where the writer explains the
essence of haikus and also gives to the reader some instructions to write
his or her own haikus.

Our friend the hen is a delightful tale about the friendship among
a dog, a pig and a hen. One day they decide to get out of the yard to
explore the world. The hen is awfully scared, but she doesn’t want to
leave her friends alone. During the journey, the dog will make sure
that everyone is safe, the pig will admire the landscape and the hen...
Well, she will spend the whole journey laying one egg after the other,
because she is so scared.
A sweet and funny tale that reminds us how important our friends
are despite their defects or, maybe, thanks to them.

Rabbit and Elephant are two good friends who live in the jungle
and take care of each other, although once in a while rabbit plays jokes
on Elephant.
Elephant doesn’t mind. He has his own sweet and philosophical
way of giving it back to Rabbit.
Together they aim to explore the world, but only when it isn’t
raining, because neither of them like thunder. To work around this
problem, they try to build travelling machines: one day it’s a train, the
following an airplane, and finally a boat…

BOMBÁSTICA NATURALIS
In this book the great scientist Bombastus Dulcimer gathers together
all his inventions like the famous pear balloon or the olea bellica, i.e. an
olive shotgun able to shoot once a year, when the olives are ripe.
Whenever Bombastus and his inventions pass by, disorder and fun
arise, and even the quiet life of an otherwise calm village gets upside
down.
In the short texts the reader will learn how Bombastus’ vegetable
inventions work, but if the reader takes a closer look at the images, he will
find out the many stories that develop along one day in Bombastus’ village.

EL SEÑOR G. / MISTER G.
Mister G.’s neighbours, who thought he was a quiet and nice
person, now believe he is crazy: why does he want to plant a seed in
the middle of the desert? Why does he claim that this plant will break
the silence when everybody knows that plants don’t sing, neither talk?
Mister G. doesn’t mind, and keeps on taking care of his seed, and also
renounces to a part of his water to give it to the seed…
Until one day a sudden “plop!” announces that a plant is born, a
plant full of flowers. Immediately, out of nowhere, a flock of birds lands
on the plant and gives the most beautiful co ncert ever heard. Maybe
plants can make noise after all.
