M argarete K ishi D iniz was born on a farm in
São Paulo (Brazil). She has a Music degree and a
post-graduate degree in Music Therapy. She has
attended several Music Education courses, including
the Orff Method in Salzburg, Austria. With over 30
years of experience as a music teacher in great
and renowned schools of São Paulo, every day she
reinforces her belief in the undisputed power of
music on everybody’s global development, whether
a child, a young person or an adult.
Note by Note, a story to read music
and play the soprano flute presents a
fictional narrative to give meaning and
playfulness in decoding musical notes,
introducing the child to musical literacy,
applying this knowledge to learn an
instrument, in this case, the soprano flute.
King Donaldo, the Treble clef, The
Fairy, Mili the cat, and many other
characters introduce the musical notes
and teach how to decode them on the
music sheet.
The book helps to teach music and
it is an invitation to sound appreciation.
The songs were especially composed
so the child can feel integrated into an
aesthetic beauty: the arrangements,
melody, harmony, rhythm and musical
performance enable the child to develop
their technical and expressive skills.

A CASA DE ISABEL
Text by C lara M ello
isbn 978-85-66587-62-3
120 pages I 15 x 21 cm
AVAILABLE TO ALL COUNTRIES EXCEPT
UNITED STATES AND CANADA.
C lara M ello was born in Piauí, but lives in Rio
de Janeiro since childhood. She always loved books
and wanted to be a writer. The desire to write
came from the passion for reading and her favorite
authors: Clarice Lispector, Lygia Bojunga Nunes,
Affonso Romano de Sant’Anna, Erico Verissimo,
Cecilia Meireles, among many others.
The first book came after eight years as a gift
for her dad. It was well received and published
independently. Since then, the overwhelming
desire for a second book emerged. Clara wrote
Isabel’s house when she was 16 years old, during an
unforgettable Carnival.
The book presents a young view on
deep themes such as loss, separation,
death, love and freedom. After all, the
author, Clara Mello was only 16 when she
decided to write a novel about the feelings and the emotional memory of adult
characters. The story takes place in the
city of Rio de Janeiro and the characters´
affection for the city lingers throughout
the story. During carnival, an old house
in Santa Teresa is the setting for Teo´s reflections upon his existence. But how can
he understand the present and make future plans without having full assurance
of childhood events that led him up to
that point in his life? The story encourages youngsters to escape from their
youth and put themselves in the shoes of
adults. As for the adult reader, this is an
opportunity to get acquainted with the
work of up-and-coming young talents.

Bob Kurt, his first teen fiction novel. To him, “Writing
is to observe the world (people, things, facts), filter
everything with reason and emotion and turn the
result into words.” Bob Kurt is the result of his
observation of the fun and exciting universe of a

such a special period in our lives!!

DE ONDE VÊM AS HISTÓRIAS
Text by M aria J osé S ilveira
isbn 978-85-66587-85-2
black and white illustrations
176 pages I 16 x 21 cm
AVAILABLE TO ALL COUNTRIES EXCEPT
UNITED STATES AND CANADA.
M aria J osé S ilveira is a writer and translator.
She has published six novels and received several
awards for her work. She is the author of twelve
YA books and six children’s books, many of whom
awarded and adopted in schools. Some of her
books have also been published abroad. Maintains
a fortnightly column in the newspaper O Popular,
and was founding partner and director of Marco
Zero Publisher. She has a degree in Communication
and Anthropology and a Master of Political Science.
Unveiling contradictions and paradoxes of the creative act, the book weaves
deep considerations about the writing
process. Where do stories come from?
How are they told? When are they released into the world? In addition to
these issues, the book is also about the
specifics that are involved in a writer’s
job, the cultural industry and the intricate
relationship between literature and history. To cross “this street of knowledge”
and address myths as inspiration, sexual
persona, or the habit of chance capture
and observation of the world, Maria José
gathered testimonials by fellow writers
Ivana Arruda Leite, Luiz Bras, Índigo, Marcelino Freire, Rodrigo Lacerda, among
several others. Believing that “the fascination for extraordinary stories is part of
her nature,” Maria José pays a tribute to
Mallarme, the French poet, and quotes:
“Everything in the world exists in order
to end up as a book.”
