the Executive Office of the Secretary General as a Delegate to the Assembly of Turkish
American Association (ATAA)’s 34th Annual Turkish American Conference in
Washington, DC.
ATAA, with over 60 local chapters nationwide, works to empower over 500,000 Turkish
and Turkish Americans through civic engagement and to support U.S.-Turkish relations
through public advocacy. ATAA’s Annual Conference is a prominent forum where
leaders of Turkish-American communities and friends of Turkey come together to
discuss key issues affecting Turkish Americans as well as U.S.–Turkey relations. This
year’sConference, “Empowering the Turkish American Community: Strength in
Diversity," attracted over 300 professionals, business leaders and government
representatives from the United States, Canada and Turkey.

Short Bio of:
MS. ZEYNEP HATICE OZ, IIMSAM’s-Special-Adviser of the
Secretary-General on Media and Institutional Advancement New
York, Headquarters: Ms. Oz, a Turkish citizen born in Ankara,
Turkey 28 July 1985. Graduated from Hacettepe University,
Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Ankara,
majoring in International Relations. While pursuing her studies,
she became fascinated about the cultural diversity of the world
and decided to apply for the IIMSAM Youth Delegate
Programme. She joined IIMSAM as a Youth Delegate with the
aspiration to learn and assist IIMSAM’s Mandate During her time
as an IIMSAM Youth Delegate participating at the United Nations,
she was the main architect for the multi-media campaign of
IIMSAM's CELEBRATE LIFE Video to help it spread and percolate
to the New York market. Moreover, she was also dedicated to
learning Spanish as well as improving her English skills, and
continued her Professional Studies at New York University.
Previously, she also interned at the Republic of Turkey, Prime
Minister's Office and the Secretariat for Maritime, Foreign
Relations Department. In September 2009, Zeynep was
promoted to a Special Adviser for the SG.
