It's still the best bang for the buck at $20 per year. All 2011 dues must be paid by 3/1/2011. See the NTC web site for mailing info. Your dues pay for the NTC picnic catered food for you and your family, a donation to the toys for tots show hosted by the Christian Classics Cruisers in October, the trophies for the dyno challenge, web hosting costs, and e-mail support - what's not to like about that? All of the NTC support people are volunteers, and I think we have a great bunch of folks running the club : David Caver - Web site management, Chapman Mays - Membership management, and Brad Howell - Newsletter Editor, great folks. And by now you have heard that NTC has set up a PayPal account to pay dues ( Thanks David, Chapman, and Bob ). For those of you that use PayPal, here's an easy way to pay your 2011 dues!!! James Kerbel made Barrett-Jackson in Scotsdale for the "really big show". Check out the Super Chevy 2011 calendar. Recognize the May 2011 car? Yes, it's NoMad Dog's 1956 Chevy Nomad or as we call it the limited edition early Camaro long roof version. Ft. Worth Rod and Custom Show Dates have changed!!! The show will open July 1,2,3. The show ends 6pm 7/3. Autorama in Dallas is Feb 18 - 20. Any NTC folks making this? Rodney wanted to meet up before the show. Speaking of Rodney, have you seen his web site, Rods' Car Craft ( I think Bill Shaw had something to do with this fine site ). Bill Shaw is also the fine NTC video photographer you see. We will do the NTC 2011 kick off - dates will change keep 3/5 open for 2011. More info as it is finalized but possibly a morning drive cruise and end up at an eatery about 11 am. Stay tuned for more info. If you would like to co-ordinate this, let me know. Jim Turner has set up a day cruise 3/12 to Tyler to the Air Museum there. NTC, 20 years in 2011 Bill Click Here to Return to Index 3 February 2011 Remembering 2010 Just in case you missed it, two of our longtime members made it into the September 2010 issue of Super Chevy Magazine. Shawn Moran and Fern Duron had a feature on page 112. Here are excerpts from that feature pasted to the original magazine‟s front page for those that missed it. There were several other members that made that show and the cruise from Cowboy‟s Club in Arlington back on May 22, 2010 to Ennis for the show. I don‟t have a complete listing, but I know the Huffer, Cris Gross and $Bill were among the other members making the cruise. In fact you can see Frank‟s “Huffer” right behind Fern‟s Z28 in this shot (lower left). I also know Alan# was at that show but I don‟t think he made the trip from Arlington out. I use to sell the 2nd owner parts for the car in the mid 1980's. He was restoring the car at the time. In the early 1990's he sold the car to the 3rd owner, and I purchased the car from him in 1994. How long have you owned the car? About 16yr Anything interesting happen during your acquisition or ownership of the car? Yes, the owner would not budge off his asking price of $4500.00. I thought this was too much for a 69 Camaro. After a couple of weeks looking at other cars, I gave in and paid $4500.00 for it. (Now the tires and wheels cost more than that) The car was all stock looking, with ralley wheels, and a stock 350ci, paint was in fair shape. I drove it everyday for 4 years in the condition it was bought in. In 1998 when I opened Speedtek, we put a fuel injected 406ci sbc in it with a 6sp. I drove it everyday for about 3yrs, then about 2001, it got it's current motor, a 408ci LS with a 6sp. (no blower), most people at this time still did not know what a LS motor was. It was still my daily driver, till I wrecked it in late 2004, It sat under a cover for almost 5yrs without me even looking at it. In March 09 the passion came back, and we started a complete rebuild. Nothing was left untouched, the only orginal parts left on the car's the the sheet metal, center console, gauge cluster and back seat. By June of 2010 my 69 was back on the road with alot more horsepower, alot more tire, and alot more fun. This was the third time I had painted the car and updated the motor combo. What would you do differently with the car? Hopefully nothing for awhile. Any company or service that deserves high praise for helping with your car? All my guys at Speedtek for working late nights and Sundays when I need the extra help.
