JOB FAIR - Tupper Lake Free Press
Page 12 Tupper Lake Free Press Wednesday, August 12, 2015 Campbell, Jaycox, Griffin take top honors at Tupper Lake Open Continued from page 11 with the golf tournament, and mentioned several Gagnon also praised all names when interviewed the volunteers who helped by the Free Press, but afterwards was fearful of leaving some people out. “Ron Belleville did a lot of work to get the course in playing shape. Volunteer work is phenomenal here,” he said. “We have a really great core group here. Wayne Roberts helped. Pam Savard helped with the scoring. She did a wonderful job. “Those three weren’t the only ones, they were just the first three that jumped out in my mind,” Gagnon said, and added the golf club board to the list. “The whole board worked hard,” he said. “I think the entire tournament went pretty well. There was plenty of sun and very little wind. It was awesome! You could not have a better weekend for a golf tournament!” Gagnon also gave kudos to the crew at the golf course who work hard on a daily basis to keep the greens and fairways in tiptop shape. He also stressed the importance of the annual open and said he hopes more local residents will come out and enjoy the golf course. “It’s a huge event for our club! We set it up this year to have a better competition. We want people to come back,” he said. “Hopefully people in Tupper Lake come to take advantage of this place. We’d love to get our membership numbers back up and locals playing here again because it’s a great golf course.” For more information joining the Tupper Lake Golf Club, call 359-3071.
