Brookes family
The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W Bro. Brian Evangelista, PSGD,
was present at Bretwalda Lodge No. 6930 on Monday, 19th October,
and witnessed a special occasion in the Lodge’s history.
Bro. Clive Philip Brookes was Installed as the Worshipful Master. He is
the son of the late W Bro. Eric Clive Brookes, PJGD, who was Provincial
Grand Almoner for many years. The Brookes dynasty continued when
he appointed and invested as Junior Warden his own son, Bro.
Jonathon Clive Brookes.
At the same meeting, W Bro. David Bevan retired after 14 years as an
excellent and hard working Secretary.
W Bro. Ron Murray was
appointed in succession to David. After some lean years, the Lodge
has succeeded recently in introducing an enthusiastic group of
younger Freemasons, who are keen to work together to ensure the
Lodge’s long term future.
