What Is the CPR in Schools Training Kit?
Equipment You Will Need
During Class
The CPR in Schools Training Kit is a classroombased program designed to teach the core skills
of CPR in under 30 minutes.
• CPR in Schools Training Kit
• Position yourself in the front of the room,
leaving yourself enough space to move around
to check on students’ progress
This kit contains everything needed to facilitate a
CPR in Schools training class for 10 students at
once, and the process can easily be repeated to
train an entire class,
a grade, or even an entire school. Because the
manikins
are reusable, one CPR in Schools Training Kit can
train hundreds of students!
• A table or desk for students who are unable to
kneel on the floor to practice CPR
What Is Included in the CPR in Schools
Training Kit?
• 10 individual Mini Anne® Plus manikins,
each with kneel mat and carry bag
• 10 practice-while-watching training DVDs
• Hand pump for manikin inflation
• 2 mesh collection bags
• 1 classroom carry bag
• 50 replacement airways
• 10 replacement faces
• 50 manikin wipes
• Facilitator Guide
Every student should receive his or her own
reusable manikin to practice on during the
training session. After the first 10 students have
been trained, clean the manikins and start training
the next 10 students. Additional kits may be
purchased to train an entire class at once.
• DVD player, remote control, and a monitor or
screen that is large enough for all students to see
• A classroom aor other space that is large
enough for thestudents to practice CPR and
where you and the DVD can be easily heard
Setting Up Your Room
• All students should be able to view and hear
the training video clearly
• Inflate the manikins by using the hand pump
-Do NOT inflate the manikins by mouth
-Do NOT use an air compressor to inflate
the manikins
• Inflated manikins may be stored in the mesh
collection bags between classes
• Manikin placement:
-Place 1 manikin per student in a location where
students can see the video while they practice
CPR
-When using the manikins on the floor, place 1
kneel mat by each manikin
-Place the manikins in the same direction as the
manikin in the video, so students can easily
follow along
• Have a sturdy table or desk surface available
for students who may have difficulty kneeling
on the floor to practice
• Ask each student to clean the face surface
and mouth cavity with a manikin wipe
(provided) before beginning
• Pull the slider to the “Hard” clicker setting
• Start the video, and ask the students
to follow along
• If students have difficulty achieving clicker
feedback with compressions, change the
clicker setting to “Soft”
• After the training section about AEDs, tell
students where AEDs are located in the school
building and in their off-campus facilities (such
as an outdoor track, pool, or baseball or
soccer field)
After Class
• Collect the inflated manikins in the 2 mesh bags
• If teaching how to give breaths, which is
recommended when teaching child CPR,
replace the airway assembly after each use
(discard used airways)
• Sanitize the faces between classes.
Discard faces that show signs of damage, and
replace them with the additional faces provided
• Store the inflated manikins in the mesh
collection bags, or deflate the manikins and
store them in the individual carry bags with
each kneel mat
• Store all components, including this guide and the
DVD, in the large classroom bag until the next use
