Diary and Fixture List 2015
Beadlow Manor Hotel, Golf Club & Conference Centre
Beadlow Manor has been established for over 40
years and is one of the best golf, hotel and
conference centres in Bedfordshire.
As well as the magnificent golf facilities, our hotel
has recently undergone a major refurbishment,
and now boasts 20 Grand Bedrooms, all of which
are en-suite and fully equipped.
We are licensed to hold marriages and
have a dedicated ceremony room in our hotel.
Wedding receptions can then be held in our
Manhattan Suite, which is a modern room
overlooking the golf courses. It is ideal for wedding
parties of up to 150 diners, and our clubhouse is
licensed to hold 210 guests in total. It is also ideal
for parties, functions and conferences.

GOLF CLUB LOCAL RULES
1.
OUT OF BOUNDS
(a) Beyond any fence, hedge or ditch bounding the course.
(b) Beyond any line of white posts on the course side of any ditches
bounding the course.
Notes: On the Baron Course, the white posts to the right of the 7th fairway
designate out of bounds on the 7th hole only. They DO NOT apply when
playing the 9th hole. On hole number 1 on the Baroness course a ball is only
out of bounds if it LANDS ON OR CROSSES the road on the right.
2. DITCHES AND WATER
All ponds, lakes and ditches on the course are water hazards (yellow
posts) or lateral water hazards (red posts). Relief may be taken under
Rule 26.
3. TRACKS, ROADS AND DRAINAGE GULLIES
Tracks made on the course by tractors or other heavy vehicles and all
drainage gullies (unless marked as water hazards) are ground under
repair and relief may be taken under Rule 25. A ball coming to rest on
a roadway may be lifted and dropped within two club lengths from the
nearest point of relief in a similar lie, not nearer the hole, without penalty.
4. TELEGRAPH WIRES AND POLES
(a) A ball hitting an overhead telegraph wire MUST be replayed, without
penalty.
(b) Telegraph poles are an immovable obstruction. Rule 24 applies.
5. AUTOMATIC WATERING SYSTEM
All pop-up heads are immovable obstructions. Rule 24(2) applies. In
addition, if such an obstruction intervenes between the ball and the hole,
relief may be taken, without penalty as follows:
6.
(a) On the putting green the ball may be lifted and placed not nearer the
hole at the nearest point affording relief.
(b) Through the green (but NOT in a hazard) and within two club lengths
of the obstruction, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped as in (a)
above.
PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES IDENTIFIED BY STAKES,
PLASTIC BINDING OR LABELS
If such a tree is more than 2 club lengths high there is no relief. If such a

tree is less than 2 club lengths high and interferes with a player’s stance
or intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped
within one club length of the nearest point of relief, in accordance with
the procedure in Rule 24-2b(1) (immovable obstruction). The ball may
be cleaned when lifted. No relief is given for bushes under 2 club lengths
high. ONLY TREES.
STONES IN BUNKERS
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. See Rule 24(1).
BALL LYING ON WOODEN BRIDGES AND STEPS
Wooden bridges and steps are classified as immovable obstructions and
relief may be obtained, without penalty, in accordance with Rule 24-2b.
DRAIN ACCESS POINT
The drain cover, brick surround, covering steel sheet and sleepers, under
the bush to the West side of the 8th fairway, Baroness course, and the
ground for one metre around it is classified as ground under repair. Relief
may be taken under Rule 25-1b. The area of GUR does not extend to the
whole of the bush. If a ball comes to rest under the bush, but outside the
designated area Rule 25-1b MAY NOT be applied.
SAFETY
In the event of a thunderstorm cease play immediately and return to the
clubhouse if it is safe to do so.
Green keeping staff have priority on the course and they will give way
whenever practicable. The ball must not be played when staff are within
range; please wait until the way is clear or you are called through.
CLUB HANDICAPS
CARDS SUBMITTED FOR FIRST HANDICAP ALLOCATION
In order to obtain an official club handicap 3 cards must be submitted. All
cards must be marked and signed by a current Beadlow club member holding
a current official club handicap. All members holding an up to date official
Beadlow club handicap are shown on the CONGU Handicap List in the
Clubhouse. Additionally, a handicap can only be allocated or amended if the
player has paid their EG/County Fees for the current year. No first handicap
allocations will be made when Winter Rules are in operation.
CONGU HANDICAP SYSTEM
Information is available on the Notice Boards in the Clubhouse regarding the
submission of Supplementary Score Cards.
MATCH PLAY KNOCKOUT
COMPETITION RULES
1.
In knockout competitions, ALL contestants are equally responsible for
making contact with their opponents and agreeing dates for the matches
to be played.
2.
ALL contestants MUST enter telephone contact numbers on the
knockout competition sheets.
3.
When difficulties arise in agreeing on dates for a match to be played, the
Competition Secretary MUST be contacted, AT LEAST TWO WEEKS
BEFORE the completion date for that round. They will then offer at least
two dates (one weekend, one midweek). If neither date is acceptable to
either side, both will be disqualified. If neither date is acceptable to only
one side, that side will be disqualified. If it proves impossible to contact
one or the other side, that side will be disqualified.
4.
The completion date for a whole round of a knockout competition will
not be extended unless both courses are CLOSED for a period of time
which would make completion impossible by the due date.
5.
Contestants MUST NOT arrange to play a match on a date that is
later than the completion date for that round, or both sides will be
disqualified.
6.
All knockout competition finals should have a referee who will be
appointed by the Competition Secretary.
7.
Contestants may lodge an appeal against a decision of the Competition
Secretary to the Competitions Sub Committee, which shall consist of
the Club Captain and two other committee members. It is a condition
of entry to all knockout competitions that all contestants accept that the
decisions of the Competitions Sub Committee are final.
COMPETITION
SUSPENSION
Any member who fails to notify the Pro Shop prior to or fails to turn up to play
in a competition that they have entered will be banned from playing in any
competition including knockouts for 1 full calendar month.
Ban will commence immediately after no show. Also, a fine to the value of the
entrance fee must be paid to the Captain’s Charity. Until this fine is paid the
member will continue to be banned from all competitions.
To appeal against the ban you must notify the Disciplinary Committee in
writing.
ladies
If you wish to participate in Club or Trophy competitions, you may do so
