When she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle, everything in Lily's life suddenly seems almost too good to be true. Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He's also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she can't help but wonder what made him create that rule in the first place. When Atlas, her first love and a link to the past she left behind, suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-toohuman characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price. This is a ticketed event. Rookwood Pavilion • Cincinnati, OH 45208 • 513-396-8960 • www.josephbeth.com Live Music this Month: Ron Purdon Quintet Swing and Jazz Friday, August 12 at 7:00 pm Ten-year-old Antoinette has a severe form of autism that requires constant care and attention. She has never spoken a word, but she has a powerful gift that others would give anything to harness: she can heal things with her touch. Antoinette's gift, though, puts her own life in danger, as each healing comes with an increasingly deadly price. As Rose, the center of her daughter's life, struggles with her own failing health, and Rose's sister Lily confronts her anguished past, they come to realize the sacrifices that must be made to keep this very special child safe. Written with great heart and a deep understanding of what it feels like to be different, The Peculiar Miracles of Antoinette Martin is a novel about the lengths to which people will go to protect the ones they love. Playhouse Book Club discussing A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving Monday, August 29 7:00 pm Every play’s journey from the page to the stage is a fascinating one that involves the collaboration of numerous theatre artists, both onstage and off, to create the world envisioned by the author. This season, in partnership with Joseph-Beth Booksellers, the Playhouse is launching a book club for audience members interested in better understanding this process. At this pre-production discussion, we’ll talk about the book itself: the plot and characters, the overarching themes, how you might imagine it translates to a theatrical setting and even the challenges you see in adapting the story. Our second discussion at Joseph-Beth on Monday, September 19 at 7 pm, will take place after you’ve had the opportunity to see the play, to discuss what excited and surprised you and to learn from members of the artistic team how they approached the show.
