Scope of Work:
Asbestos Abatement, Universal Waste Removal & Structural Demolition
Project Detail:
Mass demolition and removal of a former industrial complex that previously manufactured refractory brick. Originally
constructed in the early 1900’s, the facility spanned two distinct properties with multiple buildings and building types for a
total demolition area of approximately 230,000 SF. Work included completion of preparatory asbestos and universal waste
abatement. O’Rourke designed and implemented a site specific EPA Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan compliant with
strict local regulations. Demolition work was performed as a precursor to removal of low-level radioactive waste, a natural
by-product of the refractory manufacturing process.
