ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

No. 555 Level 5 Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia takes narrow

Racing Ferrari, Cosmo kept the car within mere laps of the leaders of the pack throughout the end of the race, holding on for a
strong top-ten finish.
The no. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia led much of the GT-D
race through Saturday evening and during the overnight hours.
However, Alessandro Balzan suffered contact with another GT-D
class car that was several laps down, sending his Ferrari to the
garage for repairs. After returning to the track, the car – driven
by Balzan, Lorenzo Case, Toni Vilander and Jeff Westphal – finished in 11th place.

since 1998. After a late yellow flag on Sunday afternoon, Level 5
Motorsports no. 555 Ferrari 458 Italia narrowly claimed a victory
in the GT-Daytona field. Alessandro Pier Guidi expertly piloted the
car for the final stint in a thrilling battle that would claim
Ferrari’s tenth victory at Daytona.

The second race of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship
brought another exciting finish in the GT-Daytona class. Another
close battle to the checkered flag involved the black no. 555 AIM
Autosport Ferrari 458 Italia, the winning car from the Rolex 24 at
Daytona, driven by Bill Sweedler, Townsend Bell, Maurizio Mediani
and Jeff Segal. The car would just miss its second win of the season as it crossed the finish line second in the GT-D class in the

speed was good, but at one point I was

handling was not the same. When it
was time for the first stop, we had to
do a double stop and that cost me a
place. It’s definitely too early to make
any definite judgement, because even if
at the moment we don’t seem to be in
great shape, we still managed to finish
the race, scoring valuable points.”

Plantation Tour
Saturday, April 26, 2014
The Third installment of the Virginia Historic Plantation Tour will take you
to two Historic James River plantations (circa 1600s) along the famed
“Plantation Highway.” Limited to just 12 cars, the tour leaves at 10 am
from the Exxon/Dairy Queen full service auto gas station at the Intersection
of I-295 and VA Rt#5 near Varina, VA (Exit #22A).
After a spirited drive with stops at the two plantations, lunch awaits you at
the lovely Blue Heron Restaurant on the banks of the Chickahominy River.
After lunch, the tour will cross the historic James River aboard the Ferrari
friendly Jamestown Ferry (no cost) and continue on another scenic route
to the New Kent Winery.
Cost is $15.00 per person for admission charges and lunch is individually
paid for. Checks, made out to FCA-MAR must be mailed to Joe Fortner, 241
