COMMUNITY CALENDAR The Neverending Story at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts Lois Mahalia started performing at the age of 5 and toured throughout the Caribbean singing with her family in churches and on any stage they could find. It was there she developed my love for Gospel, R&B and Jazz. She eventually moved to New York, continued singing, and has been fortunate to have performed and recorded with Kenny Loggins, Michael MacDonald, Norman Gimble, and many others. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks The day will feature restaurants, caterers and wineries in addition to live jazz performance by some of the areas finest musicians. Performing are Tim Heintz, Matt Harris, Luis Conte and Mighty Mo Rodgers (pictured). The cost to attend is $50 and the special VIP ticket is $75. Imagination drives this story of a young boy who steals the book The Neverending Story from a curmudgeonly store owner and becomes drawn into the book and the dying land of Fantastica. The Neverending Story walks the fine line between reality and imagination. Pictured are Arielle Jacobellis as Morla and Drew Downing as Atreyu. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12.50 for children, students and seniors.
