In December, 2013, we realized a goal of raising of over $1,000,000 to provide supplemental funding for materials, innovation, extended experiences, and learning opportunities for all students in East Lansing. To be sure we gave a correct and true accounting of this fund, and be sure we honored all of our generous donors, we purposely waited to present this report to you. The East Lansing Educational Foundation was established in 1985 to solicit donations from citizens and business sources to support the East Lansing Public Schools. Since 1989, we have made grants to classrooms to provide supplemental enhanced learning experiences and materials to all levels, Kindergarten through 12 th grade. These funds have been instrumental in maintaining the excellent education our schools provide for our students. Through this series of endowed and general grants, we provide over $35,000 per year for classroom use in arts, sciences, student leadership and other enhanced opportunities. The tremendous response to our requests for donations from our community is gratifying. Every donation helps bring a dream or vision of an educator in our schools to life. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your role in making dreams a reality. The East Lansing Educational Foundation supports all ELPS educators and students to excel and innovate by collaborating with our community to raise and distribute financial and in-kind resources. The completion of the $1,000,000 endowment campaign will provide these supplemental funds in perpetuity. We continue to encourage novel learning opportunities, as well as connecting our community to our schools, through the donation process. For more information or to make a donation please visit our website at: eastlansingedfoundation.org Sincerely, Mindy Emerson ELEF Board President Your donations to our general fund made $35,000 in grants to The ELEF has granted over $400,000 to East Lansing classrooms that provided teachers with innovative and supplemental materials to further engage our students in their learning.
