Form of Submittal: Submit typewritten Schedule of Values on AIA Document G703A. Identify each line item with
number and title.
C.
Preparing Schedule of Values:
1. Itemize separate line item cost for each of the following general cost items: Performance and Payment Bonds, field
supervision and layout, and temporary facilities and controls.
2. Itemize separate line item cost for work required by each section of this Specification. Break down installed cost with
overhead and profit.
3. For each line item which has installed value of more than $10,000, break down costs to list major products or
operations under each item, rounding figures to nearest dollar. Make sum of total costs of all items listed in schedule
equal to total Contract Sum.
D.
Review and Resubmittal: After Engineer's review, if requested, revise and resubmit Schedule until accepted.

DURING CONSTRUCTION. SHOULD ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK OVER AND AROUND UTILITIES,
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SUCH EQUIPMENT AT NO COST TO THE OWNER.
WRITTEN DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS SHALL GOVERN OVER SCALED DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS.
IF THE CONTRACTOR DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK FINDS ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS
AND THE ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO ANY
ADDITIONAL WORK. THE ENGINEER WILL MAKE A RECOMMENDATION ON HOW TO PROCEED.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES TO PREVENT EROSION EVEN IF NOT SHOWN ON EROSION
CONTROL PLAN.
CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER AND ENGINEER RELATIVE TO PLACEMENT OF ALL ITEMS OF WORK PRIOR
TO ANY WORK BEING PERFORMED.
JOINT SEALANT SHALL BE DOW CORNING 890-SL SELF-LEVELING SILICONE OR APPROVED EQUAL.
REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE DEFORMED BARS GRADE 60. FIELD BENDING OF REINFORCING BARS IS PERMITTED.
REINFORCING SHALL NOT EXTEND THROUGH ANY CONTROL, CONSTRUCTION, OR EXPANSION JOINTS IN PAVING.
THE LOCATION AND SPACING OF SIGNS AS SHOWN ON THE SITE LAYOUT ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY BE ADJUSTED AS
NECESSARY TO FIT THE FIELD CONDITIONS.
IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO PROTECT EXISTING STRUCTURES SUCH AS PIPES, INLETS, APRONS,
BOX CULVERT, ETC. FROM DAMAGE WHICH MIGHT OCCUR DURING CONSTRUCTION. EXTREME CARE SHOULD BE EXERCISED IN
UNDERCUT AREAS AND THE UNDERCUT DEPTH MAY BE ADJUSTED AT CROSS DRAINS, AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE OR REPAIR, AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER, ANY STRUCTURES DAMAGED DURING THE LIFE OF
THE CONTRACT. NO PAYMENT WILL BE MADE FOR REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF DAMAGED ITEMS.
VOIDS CREATED BY THE REMOVAL OF POSTS; CONCRETE ANCHORS, FOOTINGS, ETC, SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND TAMPED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 203 OF THE MISSISSIPPI STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.
ALL PLASTIC DRUMS SHALL HAVE A BALLASTING COLLAR MADE FROM RECYCLED TRUCK TIRES OR OTHER SUITABLE MATERIAL.
ALL POST LENGTHS SHALL BE VERIFIED IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO FABRICATION.
ALL PIPE JOINTS ARE TO BE WRAPPED IN TYPE V GEOTEXTILE FABRIC, 2 FEET IN WIDTH. ALL PICKUP HOLES ARE TO BE PLUGGED
AND COVERED WITH TYPE V GEOTEXTILE FABRIC TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER (NOT A SEPARATE PAY ITEM).
35% SHRINKAGE FACTOR SHALL BE USED IN THE EARTHWORK CALCULATIONS.
ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON THIS PROJECT SHOULD COMPLY WITH PART VI OF THE MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC
CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD), LATEST EDITION.
UTILITIES ON THE DRAWINGS ARE SHOWN IN THEIR ORIGINAL LOCATION BASED UPON THE ESTIMATED INFORMATION
AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINEER. THE ENGINEER CANNOT AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THIS INFORMATION IS COMPLETE OR
ACCURATE. THE CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATE DIRECTLY WITH THE INVOLVED UTILITY OWNERS TO HAVE UNDERGROUND
UTILITY LINES FIELD LOCATED IN ADVANCE OF CONSTRUCTION.
WORK FOR THIS PROJECT REQUIRES EXCAVATION IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF TRAFFIC AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES.
THEREFORE, THE RISK OF A FAILURE OCCURRING DURING THE EXCAVATION REQUIRES THAT EXTREME CAUTION BE EXERCISED.
IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PLACE WHAT BRACING, SHORING, OR GROUND SUPPORT SYSTEM THAT IS
DEEMED NECESSARY TO PREVENT A FAILURE AND PROTECT THE PERSONS WORKING NEAR THE EXCAVATION, THE PUBLIC THAT
MAY BE ABOVE THE EXCAVATION, OR ANY STRUCTURE ADJACENT TO THE EXCAVATION. ALL COSTS FOR ANY PROTECTIVE
MEASURES, INCLUDING THE MATERIALS AND LABOR FOR DESIGNING, DRAWING AND CONSTRUCTING THE FACILITY, SHALL BE
INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT ITEMS.
FLUORESCENT ORANGE SHEETING SHALL BE USED ON ALL CONSTRUCTION AND TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS EXCEPT FOR THOSE
DESIGNATED OTHERWISE.
THE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES REFERENCED IN THESE PLANS ARE THE MINIMUM REOUIREMENT. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY
