No seam allowances are included. Print out and enlarge 200 %. Use the gage to check for accuracy and adjust with a copy machine. Make templates for pattern pieces 2, 7, 12, 14, 16 and 17, adding a 0,75 cm seam allowance. Following the manufacturer's directions, trace the appliqué motifs 1, 3–6, 8–11, 13, 15 and 18 directly onto the fusible web and cut out, leaving ~ 5 cm on all aides. Iron the web, paper side up, to the wrong side of given fabric. Cut out the shape exactly on the drawn line. Carefully pull away paper, and fuse the patches to the front of pocket, referring to diagram. To finish the raw edges, machine satin stitch with matching or contrasting thread, or zigzag. ● Cutting: The following additional needed pieces include 0,75 cm seam allowance. Pocket 1: Pair 2 x pattern pieces (2) and (2 r) right sides together. Sew along the neckline, front opening and bottom. Turn right sides out. Fold along a long side and both short sides of strip 2 x a seam allowance 0,75 cm to wrong side. Zigzag stitch or make a roll hem on the raw edge of other long side. Gather to make a ruffle ~ 13 cm long. Appliqué patch (11) and stitch ruffle onto the bottom of dress. Appliqué pattern piece (2) along the shoulders and sides leaving jacket open. Sew hooks and eyes in place. Pocket 2: Appliqué patches (15), (3) then (4). Cut the dark blue satin ribbon in half. Stitch in the middle of ribbon centered onto the shoulders. Tie a bow. 4 5 Pocket 3: Cut 4 strips for the straps. Pair 2 strips right sides together. Round corners on one small side. Sew along both lengths and rounded off side. Turn right sides out. Cut 2 rectangles 8 x 5 cm for the front pocket. Place right sides together and round off the bottom corners. Sew leaving an opening on the bottom to turn. Turn right sides out. Appliqué patches (3), (5) then the straps along short raw edges. Sew front pocket on by hand. Add 2 no-sew-on snaps onto the straps and bib. Pocket 4: For the vest, pair 2 x pattern pieces (7) and (7 r) right sides together and sew along the shoulders and front-opening, sandwiching the zipper between. Turn right sides out. For the skirt turn a seam allowance 2 x 0,75 cm to the wrong side of the rectangle along a long side and both short sides. Ruffle the raw edge to the length ~ 8 cm. Appliqué patch (6), then the vest along the out line. Sew ruffled edge of skirt just below the vest. Fold a seam allowance to the wrong short sides of the medium blue satin band, stitch on as waist band. 5 6 Pocket 5: For the skirt turn a seam allowance 2 x 0,75 cm to the wrong side along a long side and both short sides. Ruffle the raw edge to the length of ~ 8 cm. Likewise, make the pant cuff ruffles, using the 2 strips and end length ~ 4 cm. For the arm ruffles zigzag or make a roll hem along one long side and both short sides. Ruffle the raw edge of other long side to the length of ~ 5 cm. For the belt, press both strips in half along the length wrong sides together. Open. Fold again in half and scant stitch. Slip belt into buckle. Appliqué patches (8), (9), (10), (18) then top stitch the arm, pant cuff ruffles and skirt along raw edges. Place belt over skirt waist line and appliqué along short sides. Pocket 6: For the side panel sew patches (12) and (12 r) right sides together along all sides but the left. Turn. Make a 1 cm button hole as shown in the diagram. For the pocket on the panel, fold the rectangle in half right sides together and short sides matching. Round off the 2 corners on short sides. Sew leaving an opening to turn on the bottom. Turn. Scant stitch the pocket onto the side panel. Appliqué (8), (9), then (11). Appliqué side panel along the shoulder and left side. Add the pearl button. 6 7 Pocket 7: For the vest pair 2 x pattern pieces (14) and (14 r) right sides together and sew along the neckline, front opening and bottom. Turn right sides out, Appliqué patches (3), (13), then (4) along the shoulders and sides. Add the Velcro to vest. Pocket 8: For the 2 ruffles, press a 2 x 0,75 cm seam allowance to wrong side along one long side and both short sides of each strip. Zigzag or make a roll hem on other long side of each strip and ruffle to the length ~ 8 cm. For the collar, sew 2 x 2 pattern pieces (16) right sides together along all but one short side. Turn fight sides out. Appliqué patches (8), (9), (15), then (11). Appliqué the collar overlapping along the shoulders. Sew both ruffles along the raw edges somewhat overlapping onto patch (11) and 2,5 cm from the bottom. Sew the snaps onto the collar. 7 8 Pocket 9: For the ruffle, turn a 2 x 0,75 cm seam allowance to wrong sides of a long and both short sides of both strips. Place narrow strip right side up on top of wider strip right side up, raw edges matching. Zigzag or make a roll hem along raw edge. Ruffle to the length ~ 13 cm. For the bib, sew 2 pattern pieces (17) right sides together along all sides but the neckline. Turn right sides out. Appliqué patches (9), (13), then (17) along the neckline. Sew the ruffles 7 cm from the bottom onto patch (13). Cut the blue satin band in half. Fold one short edge of each band to wrong side. Sew onto the sides and bottom of patch (3). Tie a bow. Putting together the pocket rectangles (9 X) For the button loop cut a piece of cord 7 cm long. Fold in half so ends are next to each other and baste centered on the front and top side of pocket. Place a front side and back rectangle in the fabric matching the corresponding rectangle in quilt plan right sides together (refer to diagram). Place a batting rectangle on top. Sew together along the top small sides, catching the loops. Turn so wrong sides are together and sides/bottom matching. Baste. Stitch 3 cm along top (pocket opening). Lay pocket onto corresponding fabric rectangle both with right sides facing up and bottom edges matching. Align sides of pocket and rectangle. Baste. Fold 2 pleats each 0,75 cm from the sides on the bottom of pocket and towards the sides, so that the bottom edge of pocket and bottom of rectangle now coincide. Baste. 8 9 Assembling the quilt top Sew the squares, strips and pocket rectangles according to the diagram into 7 rows. Sew the rows under each other. Quilting and finishing Layer and baste quilt . Quilt the squares, strips and pocket rectangles in the ditch. Bind quilt . Add hanging sleeve . Sew buttons in place and close the pockets. 9 10 10 11 11
