Until the forties of the last century the center of brass
instrument manufacturing has been Graslitz in Northern
Czechoslovakia. The instruments coming from this area
soon became famous all over the world with export being
of utmost importance. The end of World War II brought a
sudden end to 150 successful year’s worth of instrumentmaking in Graslitz. The instrument makers were then
scattered all over the world.
Quality is a value that transcends time
Some of the Graslitz fugitives found their way to Bavaria,
Germany. Thirteen instrument makers founded the
“Manufacturing Cooperative of Graslitz Instrument Makers
Ltd.” in Waldkraiburg in 1946. They had only a few tools
in their possession and began with the repair of brass
instruments. Eventually they combined their rich and vast
knowledge and began to make their own instruments
under the new brand name “Miraphone”. This was the
beginning of a very successful venture, which continues
well into the twenty-first century.
The key to the quality of a musical instrument is in the
creators themselves. Their experience and skill as handcraftsmen influences each individual instrument. Not one
instrument leaves Miraphone’s production facilities without
being wholly convinced of its flawless quality. With this
credo, Miraphone has made a considerable contribution to
the world of bands and orchestras since its foundation in
1946, making it a priority to actively invest in the future of
wind music.

Both amateur and professional musicians have an intimate
relationship with their instrument. It means more to them
than just a piece of equipment.
This is also true for the co-workers at Miraphone in that
nearly every employee plays a brass instrument and shares
in the enthusiasm for wind music. Furthermore, Miraphone
strives to maintain an intense cooperation with renowned
artists worldwide in the researching and designing of new
ideas and innovations.

The large scale trumpet model 11
was developed in cooperation with
Mario Lorenz, trumpet player in
the Siegburg Military Music Corps
and lends itself to the classical as
well as the symphonic realm.
In comparison to the Miraphone
trumpet model 9R, the model 11
produces a larger volume of sound
with superb projection while
maintaining excellent response
due to the increased bell diameter
and larger bore measurement.

Bb Piston Trumpet
Model M3000
In the late 1960´s to the early 1970´s, the Miraphone Company
built a piston trumpet that was considered in those times to
be an outstanding competitor. After the 70´s, Miraphone
concentrated only on rotary horns which have been in high
demand in the European market. In this same tradition of
excellence, Miraphone offers the piston trumpet model M3000.
This ”power horn“ perfectly unites Miraphone´s many years of
traditional experience with the work of famous musicians from
all over the world. This unity has yielded the production of a
high precision instrument realized by the close cooperation with
Mr. Rinner, Professor for Trumpet at the Innsbruck Conservatory
and member of the ensemble ”Blechschaden“. This trumpet is a
real highlight endowed with all the most important features
and options: musically as well as optically, allowing the trumpeters a wide variety of choices. The full round tone, clean and
clear response and perfect intonation make this instrument an
”all-round instrument“ for jazz or big band, wind, orchestral or
solo settings.

Bb Piston Trumpet
Model M3050
The new Miraphone trumpet M3050, in comparison to
the medium-large trumpet model M3000, boasts a larger
bore size of 11,8 mm (0,465 inch) and is best suited for
lead-trumpet playing in big bands, but also for symphonic
playing where a large volume of sound is required. The
optimal configuration between the valve section, leadpipe
and bell, assures an extraordinary response with an
evenness of sound in all registers. Particularly in the high
range, the new trumpet model M3050 proves exceptional
stability with a clear and open tone that locks effortlessly
into place. These characteristics allow the trumpet player
unsurpassed performance security whether it be for jazz,

Bb Fluegelhorn
Model 24R
The open, clear, centralized and voluminous sound
of the fluegelhorn model 24R makes it a true
”all-rounder“ for the symphonic orchestra, wind
band or mixed ensemble.
Thanks to the installation of a valve that turns right
into the air stream, the air flow is softer and more
even into the valve slide allowing an improved
legato style with all finger combinations. A light
and even response is made possible by a nickel silver
corrosion-resistant leadpipe. The specially developed
taper ensures flawless intonation in all registers.
The maintenance free Miraphone-Minibal linkage
made in one piece out of nickel silver. This ensures
higher stability and quiet, noise-free and secure
playability and long-life under heavy use and
extreme conditions. The bell is formed in one piece
and provides with an excellent sound production
and a typical, traditional warm and full German
sound making the fluegelhorn 24R from Miraphone
one of the bestselling instruments in its class.

Bb Fluegelhorn
Model 25
The flugelhorn model 25 is a new development
that seamlessly follows the success of the classic
Miraphone flugelhorn model 24R.
Drilled holes in the valves ensure a free and clear
response as well as the smooth execution of slurred
passages. The bell of the new flugelhorn is a
”one-piece-bell“ made from a single brass sheet
which results in a core and stabile sound. The tuning
slide on the 3rd valve is newly positioned and the
new placements of the support joints offer optimal
response and sound projection.
The fluegelhorn model 25 from Miraphone is a real
”all-round instrument“ characterized by an excellent
sound and superb intonation ideal for the symphonic
realm as well as for wind band and ensemble settings.
A portion of the technological developments of the
Miraphone flugelhorn model 25 have also been
adopted into the flugelhorn model 24R.
