MAKE A DIFFERENCE
HERE’S
THE RUN DOWN:
Games kick-off on Friday at 5:00 p.m. with the ever popular “Canoe Relay” on Lake Innsbrook.
The games continue Saturday morning as they kick it into high gear! Teams compete in classic
fan favorites like the “Obstacle Challenge,” “Jump Rope Jive,” “500-Yard Relay,” “Thread the
Noodle” and the “Zany Relay.” The day ends with the grand finale that is everyone’s favorite, the
traditional “Tug-of-War.”
It’s about getting involved and the fundraising starts now! You don’t have to wait for
the Corporate Games to begin. Kudos to last years’ Golden Pig Philanthropy Award
Winner, Yukon Learning Center, whose team efforts raised a whopping $5,000 to
support Special Olympics Virginia. GOLDEN PIG AWARD
This is a philanthropy award recognizing the team with the most funds raised. Teams do not
have to compete in the competitions to be eligible to receive this award. This is an award
saluting and recognizing the largest and very generous single source donation from a
company or an individual that supports this great cause.

During the 2014 Innsbrook Golf Classic
on June 2, a celebrity stood poised at
the 14th hole to putt the final stroke for
charity. Teams were playing “Captain’s
Choice” where the group plays off of the best ball hit, and to keep things moving
along, an individual was chosen to stay on the green to putt the balls into the hole
for each team. Well, there was an uproar of cheering around the 14th hole, and,
as luck would have it, the skill of our very own Yvonne Nelson putt a hole-in-one!
For years, Yvonne could be spotted as a Traffic Anchor on NBC12 News! Now,
she is leading the events and activities as Executive Director of the Innsbrook
Foundation. Innsbrook is fortunate to have her spirit in our community and she
is usually seen as part of the dynamic trio, Matthew, Sandy and Tami on the
Innsbrook set, pulling things together behind-the-scenes “day in and day out” to
bring you concerts, events, speakers, wellness, sports and so much more!
As rumor has it, Yvonne scored a ‘hole-in-one’ on the green in the spirit
of charity for St. Joseph’s Villa. A big thank you goes out to sponsors Page
Auto and Bon Secours and all involved in the event as we raised $58,000
for St. Joseph’s Villa! Please check out the story about this year’s exciting
golf event in this issue.

ANNOUNCING RECORD ATTENDANCE
AT OUR EXECUTIVES’
BREAKFAST SERIES
The Executives’ Breakfast Series typically drew around 20 to 32 attendees. Well, the past few
breakfasts have grown to host over 70 attendees each and the most recent drew over 100
exciting attendees!
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
Some of our speakers have identified the breakfasts as a great way to connect with other business
people sharing a common interest. Even with today’s emails, voicemails, and text messages, this is
the best, fastest and most effective way to connect“ face-to-face,” month after month, with business
people in the Innsbrook community.
SAVE THE DATE and plan to join us on Wednesday, September 10!
With the growing popularity of the breakfast meetings, we will pick up where we left off with our next
breakfast in September with an exciting lineup of speakers and sponsors. After we take a break in
July and August, we will resume on September 10th with Henrico County Manager, John Vithoulkas,
who will kick off the series with an exciting county update. Our September breakfast is sponsored by
Lingerfelt Companies.
