Summer Romance in Atlantic Highlands

It was a summer day, not unlike any other. The sun was shining; an occasional cloud danced upon the horizon. John
Carlucci had a secret, a secret he was ready to reveal – a diamond ring, its band covered with tiny stones rising to
embrace a perfectly mounted solitaire. He had taken great care to select the stone. He held it in his hand, waiting for
the right moment to tell her, to slip it on her graceful hand. Patrice Johansen was in love, plain and simple. John had
captured her heart; even his dog Boo had won her affection. The three of them sat on a blanket of grass enjoying a
picnic of wine and cheese. Atlantic Highlands was a location they had visited before. John knew the view would be
breathtaking, second only to the expectation in her eyes. Patrice looked down thoughtfully at a different ring on her
hand. She wore a sparkling blue topaz John had given her months before. She remarked about how lovely it was,
how it sparkled in the sun. Here was his chance, “I have an even better one for you,” he said, opening the tiny box
that held his gift. His secret revealed, John took a deep breath and Patrice felt her heart dissolve in a summer haze of
bliss! And so the journey begins...

They Found Each Other!
She quickly contacted her good friend and
psychic Melanie McLean. After dining on
Chinese take-out and a couple of glasses
of wine, these words came rolling out of
Melanie’s mouth, “He’s going to ask you to
marry him! I just KNOW it Patrice!”
John Carlucci traveld the world in search of
the perfect bride: China, Costa Rica, Peru.
He climbed the highest mountains and
swam the deepest seas. He even swam
with the whales in search of wisdom!
One day kismet happened! Like a bolt out
of the blue, Carrie a mutual friend
suggested a date with Patrice. John recalls
his first date with the emerald eyed beauty,
and admits, “It was love at first sight. I was
struck by her beauty.” He made no bones
about it either and quite openly declared,
“It looks like I need to send Carrie a fruit
basket!”
It wasn’t long before John whisked her
away to the island paradise of Antigua.
One look at Patrice in her bikini and John
was a goner! His kiss told her all she
needed to know; she had finally found her
match. Now that Patrice is taken, hearts
are breaking everywhere; John'a search is
over and their story has just begun!
Patrice remembers the day fondly. She
was taken aback by John’s stature, his
broad shoulders and chiseled Roman face.
It was a good pairing from the start. They
had the same goals and dreams for the
future. Patrice left the date quite excited.

Beautiful April is Patrice's Flower Girl! She
loves swimming, Karate, climbing trees and
chocolate chip cookies!
Handsome Dominick is Patrice's Ring
Bearer! He loves sharks, bugs, space, his
iPad and fur-babies Boo & Holly.

Faye is a lifelong friend of Patrice. They share many happy
memories through the course of their lives. Faye has known
Patrice longer than anyone in the Wedding Party. She
holds the honor and title of Matron of Honor. She says,

Melanie McLean: Maid of Honor
Melanie has been Patrice's close friend (and Psychic) for
many years. She has the honor of serving as Maid of Honor.
She says, "My precious friend, I laugh when I think about
the glasses of wine we've shared over loves lost and
laughable situations. I am so happy that you have found
someone worthy of your love. Looks like my prediction
came true. May your marriage bring great happiness,
always!
Melissa Marsach Lacorazza: Bridesmaid
Melissa met Patrice through Melanie and they have been
good friends ever since. Melissa is expecting a bouncy baby
girl in just a few weeks! She says, "Patrice, we met briefly
& I knew by looking at you I already made a lifelong
wonderful friend to share my life with. God bless you and
John and may you both have a joyous life together."
Erin Cerelia: Bridesmaid
Erin and Patrice have a lot in common, have worked
together and share a love for humanity. They have been
friends and confidants for many years. She says, "When I
first met Patrice, I was impressed by her sense of style,
which is only surpassed by her huge heart allowing her to
be a good counselor and an even greater friend! I wish you
and John many years of happiness!"
Elizabeth Steiner-Hahner: Bridesmaid
Liz, another friend of Patrice, shares many interest and has
almost single-handedly worked with Patrice's mom to pull
off a fabulous bridal shower Her daughter April is the
flower girl! She says, "Words cannot express the happiness
I feel for Patrice and John. wishes do come true and they
are worth the wait. May your love grow through many
happy years together!"
A Legacy of Love Spanning

A legacy of love is shared between three generations of
women. Patrice enjoys the company of her Mom and
Grandmom. They enjoy small trips to Antlantic City, fun
lunches together and taking part in shopping for their bridal
dresses! Patrices mom, Kathy expresses great pride in her
daughter saying, "She will make a beautiful bride. My
husband and are thrilled that Patrice has found a good man
in John; we couldn't be more pleased." As mother of the
bride, Kathy will be wearing a beautiful gown of midnight
blue. Grandmom Mary will be wearing a tea length gown of
a lighter teal blue in honor of her late husband Frank, as it
was his favorite color. Mary and Frank were married for 68
years. I am sure that if he were here today, he would join his
wife and daughter in wishing Patrice and John a lifetime of
joy and happiness!

Dear Abby - I don't know what to do. My
fiance has a dog who insists on snuggling
between us in bed. While, I love the little
furbaby, I love my fiance more! Please
advise! ~Sleepless in New Jersey
Dear Sleepless: I have two solutions for
you. Get a playmate for the dog, so you can
"play" too. Or put her in a cage. Of course,
you could also try a little beer in her bowl,
but check with your veterinarian first; I can't
be responsible for intoxicated pets; I only
specialize in LOVE!
