Nowadays the island of Ischia has total of
370 hotels and little guest houses. That is why
it is important to pay attention on some specific
details that sometimes on the pictures or hotel’s
descriptions are not mentioned at all. In this
little guidebook we will tell you about specifics
of hotel’s system in Ischia, that will help you to
choose the right hotel for every single tourist
based on his taste. So, at this point we are
going to start from the most common questions
of every tourist: “why” and “where” to book
the hotel for making vacation unforgettable.
Please note, in our guidebook we considered
the main groups of hotels in Ischia according to
our classification.

HOTELS, BEACHES AND SEA…
It is always important to know the difference between the concept of distance
to the sea and the distance to the beach. On the island there are many hotels
with a minimal distance to the sea but at the same time located far from the
beach. It’s due to the fact that beach line does not completely encircle the
whole island but only some parts of it. Moreover, it is important to remember,
that even though the hotel located with minimal distance from the sea, it’s not
the fact there is a direct descent to it.
Please note, here some of the
→ hotels which are located on so-called “fake” first beach line:
HOTEL LE QUERCE 4* - is located about 120 meters above the sea
level, descent to the sea by using the stairs (about 80 stairs)
HOTEL CONTINENTAL MARE 4* - is located about 120 meters above
the sea level, descent to the sea by using the stairs (about 110 stairs)
HOTEL MYAGE 4* – is located about 120 meters above the sea level, but
without direct descent to the sea
PUNTA CHIARITO RESORT 4* - 70 meters above the sea level, descent
to the sea by using stairs, about 200 stairs + 150 meters (natural thermal
Bay of Sorgetto)

NETTUNO 4* - 20 meters across the street, but without direct
descent to the sea
SANTA LUCIA 3* - 20 meters across the street, but without direct descent
to the sea

Ischia boasts to have a big amount of large and beautiful sandy beaches
located in different communes-cities. That is why the island has lots of hotels
located on first beach line. BUT! Pay attention and always remember that
even though hotel is located on first beach line, it doesn’t mean it has its own
beach!

here you can only by bus. The closest way would
be from Ischia Porto or from Maronti square.
Accordingly, you need to book hotel either close to
the main bus station on Ischia Porto, or in Maronti
area (San Giorgio 4*/ Parco Smeraldo 4*)

II. HYDROTHERAPY AND THERMAL PARKS
Hydro-thermal value of the island of Ischia characterized by a large amount
of springs with a wide variety of mineral water types. In the depths of
the island is recorded the biggest concentration of underground thermal
basins across the whole Europe. In total, throughout the whole territory
discovered and cataloged 29 hydro-thermo mineral basins, other groups of
similar natural springs, each of which contains special characteristics. What
concern about chemical classification of water, in spite of its diversity,
there are some common characteristics, that can be summarized as follow:
— contains sodium, chlorine, potassium and calcium;
— contains sulfur in the form of sulphates and sulphides;
— contains microelements;
— natural radioactivity;
— temperature.
All these factors coexist in certain proportions, ranging from one spring
to another. Depending on the predominance of one or another, they are
recommended for use at a specific pathology.
Thanks to its natural resources the island is rich for numerous thermal
places where you can relax and get to feel better with the help of thermal
treatments. Definitely, the most popular tourists’ destination on the island
are thermal parks. There are six centers of wellness and relaxation,

such as: «Poseidon Gardens»,
«Castiglione», «Aphrodite and
Apollon», «Tropical», «Eden»,
«Negombo». Daily ticket’s fee
depends on thermal park and
season, and varies from 25 to 33
Euros. That is another reason why
the tourists ask about the → hotels
on the territory of thermal park.

VII. SMALL AND IMPORTANT DETAILS
- It is important to mention while sailing the hotel to the client about the
sea view from the room. If in description of the room is not mentioned a
direct view to the sea (front sea view) it means, that a view can be partial or
side sea view. It depends on the location of the hotel itself. Also, you have
to remember, that Ischia – this is a green island, so it could happen, that
apart from the sea view, the tourists can enjoy the view over the beautiful
exotic trees.
- In the town of Forio, sunset goes down exactly 1 hour later, so the day
spending on the beach is longer.

Ischia is separated from the mainland by sea, so to get here from Naples
you can rather by taking a ferryboat or a speed boat. The fastest way of
cause would be by taking private boat/yacht or a helicopter.

The assistant – the representative of Sud Italia Hotels meets the tourists
at the airport with the sign of Sud Italia Hotels. After, the group take a
ferryboat to get to the island. Most of the cases it is a direct transportation,
so it means the bus together with tourists and luggage get transferred by
ferryboat. While they get to the island, the small shuttle buses are already
waiting for tourists to be transferred to the hotels.
Simple individual combined transfer by ferryboat + by car
The driver meets the tourists with the sign where displays their surnames
at the point A. After they get transferred to the port of Naples by a vehicle
(a car, a minivan), where the driver buys the tickets for the first scheduled
ferryboat. If tourists have suggestions on choosing ferryboat or speedboat,
they have to specify it in advance! There is an extra charge of 10 Euros/
pax one way for speedboat (Aliscafo). Our assistant or a driver meets the
tourists with the sign where displays their surnames upon arrival into the
port of Ischia. Transfer on return goes on the same way

Individual VIP-Prestige combined transfer by speedboat (Aliscafo)
+ by car of «luxe» class (MERCEDES E, MERCEDES VIANO)
The driver meets the tourists with the sign where displays their surnames
at the point A. After they get transferred to the port of Naples by a vehicle
of «luxe» class (MERCEDES E, MERCEDES VIANO), where the driver
buys the tickets for the first scheduled speedboat (Aliscafo). The driver
escorts the tourists to a speedboat, and the personal assistant meets the
tourists with the name sign upon arrival into the port of Ischia, escorts them
to the hotel and helps them to do check-in. The transfer on return goes on
the same way with the only difference, that at the hotel and port of Naples
the driver meets the tourists with their name sign.
Individual direct transfer together with immersing a vehicle and
luggage on board the ferryboat
This transfer always involves immersing a vehicle on board of the ferryboat,
the luggage remains in the car. Direct transfer always done by using the
ferryboat!
The driver meets the tourists with a name sign at the point А. By a vehicle
(a car, a minivan) transferred to the hotel of Ischia, without changing it.
Transfer on return goes on the same way.
Individual combined transfer from Rome by train
The driver meets the tourists in Rome with their name sign at the point А,
brings them at the Train Station, gives them purchased already in advance
train tickets. Upon arrival to the Naples train station, the driver meets them
at the beginning of train by holding a sign where displays their surnames.
By using a vehicle (a car, a minivan) tourists get transferred to the port
of Naples, where the driver buys them the tickets for the first scheduled
ferryboat. Upon arrival into the port of Ischia the assistant or the driver
meets the tourists with a name sign. Transfer on return goes on the same
way.
P.S. If the tourists have suggestions on taking a speedboat rather than
ferryboat, they have to specify in advance! There is an extra fee of 10
Euros/рах one way. There is also a possibility to book the tickets for the
speed train FRECCIA ROSSA for extra charge.

Individual VIP-Prestige transfer on a private boat/yacht
The driver meets the tourists with a name sign at the point А. By taking
a vehicle of «luxe» class (MERCEDES E, MERCEDES VIANO) get
transferred to the port of Naples or Pozzuoli, where the private boat/yacht
is already ready. Private boat/yacht brings them to the port of Ischia or
other place where it is possible to moor directly to the hotel. From the port
to hotel the driver escorts the tourists by car or by minivan. Transfer on
return goes on the same way.
P.S.
- All the transfers include the tickets on ferryboat or speedboat!
- Transfer by bus or by car cannot be done to hotels, located in the
pedestrian area of Sant Angelo (PARK HOTEL MIRAMARE 4*, HOTEL
