ZIMAS Map Instructions

1) Use your web browser to go to:
http://zimas.lacity.org/
2) Enter the registered property street number and street name, then click “GO”.
3) Click on the correct result for your registered property.
4) Click on the radius mapping tool.
5) Verify that the buffer distance is set to 500 feet (default) and click the “Draw Buffer” button. 6) Click on the “Jurisdictional” button to reveal Council District and Neighborhood Council information. 7) Print your registered property information to PDF. Click the print button and select PDF. 8) Name your PDF using the Council District Number – Neighborhood Council Name – Street
Number and Street Name – ZIMAS Map. For instance: City Hall East would be saved as: 14 – Downtown Los Angeles – 200 Main – ZIMAS Map
Van Nuys City Hall would be saved as: 06 – Van Nuys – 6262 Van Nuys – ZIMAS Map As required by Ordinance No. 184168, “Providers shall provide written notification to the owners of
properties abutting the subject property, as well as to any school located within 500 feet of the subject
property, prior to operating a shelter for the homeless on the subject property.”
Providers are required to provide written notification to the owners of properties that share a common
boundary, as well as to any school located within 500 feet. If any part of a school’s property falls
within 500 feet of your property, written notification must be provided to the school’s administration
office. The legend below will assist you in understanding your ZIMAS Map. A ( ) appears next to
types of schools that may appear in your ZIMAS Map.
