Nine key elements come together to make the ORO lube body unique: 1 QUALITY BODY CONSTRUCTION The highest quality body and tank construction, a stainless steel rear frame, and a choice of steel or aluminum wall construction gives technicians a truck that will survive anything they throw at it. Lubrication equipment can also be mounted on trailers, service trucks, or inside a sea container, depending on the application and its unique requirements. 2 WORK SPACE FEATURES 3 REEL MODULE COMPARTMENT 05 A wide range of toolboxes, shelving, workbenches, and other storage options are available to ensure every ORO lubrication body is efficient, organized and safe. 4 COLD WEATHER SYSTEMS 5 FRESH OIL AND PRODUCT SYSTEMS Bodies can be configured to carry a variety of fresh oils and other products such as DEF fluid, anti-freeze and grease to tackle any job you might come across on the job site. Fresh oil filters on all oils extend machine life. A number of integrated cold weather systems including coolant and electric space heaters, in-tank heaters, and a fully spray foam insulated body guarantee trouble-free operation on even the coldest days of the year. 6 WASTE OIL RECOVERY AND RECYCLING SYSTEMS A fully integrated waste oil recovery system on board every truck, which includes waste oil holding tanks, filter drain drawers, and a builtin oil spill recovery system inside the floor of the body ensure the environment is protected and waste oil is fully contained. Our proprietary Kidney Loop© oil filtration system helps significantly extend equipment oil life and the time between oil changes, saving you money. 7 QUICK-CHANGE, REMOVABLE TOTE DESIGN ORO’s quick-change oil tote system allows the operator to use removable oil totes and drums loaded onto the body with a forklift instead of fixed tanks, eliminating transfer pumping of fluids onto the truck and wasted labour. This innovative system represents a major shift in how lubrication service operations are run. 8 MULTIPLE POWER OPTIONS All hydraulic systems can be run using either a standard pump, & PTO setup or the Miller EnPak® power unit, which includes an integrated hydraulic pump generator, compressor, inverter, and welder. All fluid pumps can be run using either air or hydraulic power, depending on the application. 9 INTEGRATED LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS A number of lighting and electrical options can be factory installed and fully integrated into the body design. This means greater operator productivity and safety while working at night and in remote locations where technicians are required to supply their own power source. Our winterized module makes lube service in northern climates easy. Add to this the use of high quality Reelcraft® hose reels as well as easy access to components for service and its easy to see why our lube trucks are trusted in the most demanding of applications. 06 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK ORO equipment is designed to last in the harshest environments, ensuring a lifetime of trouble-free service. QUALITY BODY CONSTRUCTION Engineered for strength and durability. ORO lubrication bodies are built tough to guarantee long lasting service and handle the heavy loads the body must carry. We design all of our equipment to stand up to harsh environments like those found in mining and construction applications. To ensure a lifetime of trouble-free service, every ORO lubrication body incorporates a number of unique qualities. Heavy Duty Steel Construction Deck All ORO lubrication bodies start with a solid foundation: the steel subframe. Constructed using steel channel cross members and either 3/16” or 1/4” thick steel checker plate flooring, the subframe is built heavy to ensure the body can carry high volumes of oil and fluids without any issue. The floor is fully seal welded at the joints and has a 1” retaining lip around the perimeter to contain any oil that may be spilled within the body. If an oil spill occurs, the entire floor drains to a rear holding tank in the bumper, which can be pumped off to the waste tank with the turn of a valve. Stainless Steel Rear Frame The rear door frame can optionally be constructed entirely of stainless steel, similar to many transport trailers on the road today. Using stainless steel instead of painted steel eliminates corrosion, extends the life of the truck, and eliminates expensive paint jobs down the road. Aluminum or Steel Sidewall Construction Depending on the application and customer requirements, the sidewalls on all ORO bodies can be constructed using either aluminum or steel. For on-road applications, aluminum sidewalls are lighter, improving vehicle fuel efficiency and reducing overall weight. Aluminum also provides excellent corrosion resistance to road salt and spray. For mining and off-road applications where high strength is critical, steel sidewalls can also be used. Removable Oil Tote Bays and Access Doors A key part of building a quality body is tailoring it to fit the unique requirements of the customer. Before a single piece of steel is cut, we sit with the customer and customize the body to suit the application. Side access doors for oil totes can be added. The location of the crew access door, and reel module can also be customized, creating a truck that helps your technicians be efficient and safe while on the job. High Quality Tank Design and Construction Every ORO lubrication body makes use of fabricated steel, aluminum, or stainless tanks. By fabricating our own tanks we are able to customize fitting ports, volume, and overall dimensions, allowing us to make full use of the limited space inside the body. All tanks are baffled to ensure safe transport of fluids and include removable inspection/clean out covers on the top for maintenance access. Our tanks are fully welded inside and out and spring-mounted to ensure they stand up to off-road and mining conditions. Custom Platforms for Unique Applications Oro Design has pioneered a number of unique lubrication body designs, which include lube trailers, lubrication systems mounted inside service trucks, and lube pallets which can be loaded and unloaded from a service truck when not in use. We also offer a containerized lube shop design, which is fully selfcontained within a 20 foot sea container for easy transportation and set up in remote locations. 07 08 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK INTELLIGENT DESIGN A focus on efficient utilization of limited space. ORO lubrication bodies come with a number of standard and optional features to maximize productivity and safety while working on site. Underbody Toolboxes Included with all ORO lube bodies, underbody toolboxes provide easy-access tool and filter storage to the technician without having to climb inside the body. Our toolboxes use marine-grade aluminum doors for superior corrosion resistance and longer life. The number and size of toolboxes can be customized to suit the application and fit the chassis. A Number of In-Body Storage Options Our standard body includes allaluminum, heavy-duty shelving inside the cargo area along both sides and the front, giving you ample storage for items such as filters and parts. Additional shelving can be added inside the body for applications requiring more warehousing space. Ceiling-mount toolboxes are also available for applications requiring a sealed inside compartment. structed using sure-grip (gripstrut) walkway sections, which provide the safest non-slip walking surface available - even when covered in oil and grease. All walkways also include removable dirt catch pans that can be easily cleaned out and emptied - keeping dirt and mud off hoses and equipment inside the truck. Welding Bottle Storage Rack A location for welding bottles is available next to the interior workbench so that technicians can safely store and transport oxygen and acetylene gas bottles to the job site. Clothing Organizer In rain, snow and mud, work still has to get done. ORO Lubrica- tion bodies include a clothing rack inside the rear compartment so that technicians can hang their wet coveralls to dry and keep their winter gear and spare uniforms organized. Heavy Duty Mechanics Toolboxes and Bolt Bins A number of toolbox and bolt bin options are available for tool storage as well as fittings, bolts, and other hardware you might require. Toolboxes can be installed inside the cargo area as well as the underbody toolboxes, with custom sizes available to suit any need. All drawer sets are built tough using galvanized steel and 500 lbs. drawer slides to provide years of trouble-free operation. ORO toolboxes, workbenches, and a number of other storage options help keep your lube truck organized and ready to work. Steel Workbench with Integrated Oil Catchment Technicians make heavy use of the steel workbench located inside the rear man door for building hoses and making small repairs. The bench includes an integral trough around its perimeter to catch oil and drain it to the truck’s waste oil system. Safety-Tread Walkways Throughout Body The rear steps and raised catwalk inside the body are con- 09 10 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK REEL MODULE COMPARTMENT A modular design for easy service access. Every ORO lubrication body features a bolt-in modular reel section that can be quickly removed to allow full access to the inside of the body for service. Each module section incorporates a number of innovative design features with one goal in mind: to make oil changes simple. Available in Winterized and Open-Style Designs Winterized modules enclose all reels and pumps inside the body with hoses exiting through openings in the main wall. This design keeps all equipment warm and is ideal for cold weather operations where fluids can become viscous and difficult to pump. An open module design is also available to allow for easier access to hose reels and to provide more storage space accessible from the outside of the truck. Reelcraft® Brand Hose Reels Whether for air, oil, or grease, all ORO bodies use Reelcraft® reels to ensure trouble-free operation and zero maintenance for the operators. With a proven track record of high quality and dependability, these reels are built to last and are guaranteed to survive as long as the trucks they are installed in. Remote Monitoring System All lube bodies can be equipped with an optional tank fluid monitoring system, which allows technicians to monitor oil capacity of tanks via a remote panel in the reel module compartment. High level shut off valves can also be integrated into each tank to prevent overfilling. Fluid control systems are also available, which automatically track fluid inventory and usage to work orders while limiting unauthorized use. Remote Loading Connections All fresh oil and product tanks can be filled remotely through connections within the reel module instead of directly into the top of each tank. High-level shut off valves can be included to prevent overfilling of tanks. 11 12 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK LUBRICATION SYSTEMS An infinite number of combinations tailored to each specific application. With the ability to carry a multitude of different fluids and capacities tailored to your operations needs, there’s no job you can’t tackle while in the field. Whether you’re considering a single waste oil recovery tank on a service truck or a 20 foot tandem lube body with 7 onboard products, ORO lubrication systems always use the highest quality components that have been proven reliable over numerous builds and many years of service. By using a standard set of building blocks, we can configure an infinite combination of systems and capacities, allowing us to tailor each lubrication body to your specific application. are used exclusively in all ORO lubrication systems to ensure reliability and consistency over time. Air-powered pumps using heated air come standard, with high volume pumps available for moving viscous fluids in colder climates. Optional hydraulicdrive pumps are also available. Independent Fresh Oil Filters for Each Dispensed Product Each fresh oil system has a dedicated high volume, high dirtholding capacity filter canister plumbed in line to ensure all dispensed oil is free of contaminants. All filters are rated to 3 micron and are easily replaceable. A Variety of Products and Fluids With the ability to carry fresh oils, waste oil, antifreeze, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), water and pressure washing systems, as well as grease with either high pressure or low pressure dispensing nozzles, there is no job you can’t tackle while in the field. Graco® Brand Pumps Proven to stand up to years of daily use, Graco® brand pumps 13 14 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK WASTE OIL RECOVERY AND RECYCLING SYSTEMS Incorporating innovative features to manage the waste oil collection process. Waste oil collection and containment is a key part of any mobile lubrication operation and can cause serious environmental and regulatory issues if not managed properly. Every ORO lubrication body incorporates a number of innovative features and systems to help your technicians manage waste oil collection efficiently and easily. ORO Kidney Loop© Filtration System Our proprietary kidney looping© system is designed to circulate used oil from the machine through a set of high volume, high dirt-holding capacity filters and back to the machine, cleaning the oil and removing contaminants in the process. Kidney looping© is great for flushing metal shavings and sediment out of hard to drain areas like differentials. Oil treated using With tank volumes from 70 to 320 gallons, and anything in between, a number of waste oil capacities can be configured to suit a variety of needs. 15 this process can be reused multiple times, significantly extending the intervals between oil changes and providing direct cost savings to your operation. Proven Waste Oil Pumping System Oro Design has developed a proven waste oil collection system, which begins with a diaphragm pump and 1-¼” waste suction reel for high capacity pumping. An inlet screen on the waste suction reel removes large debris that is accidentally sucked into the system, protecting the pumps from damage. A 4-way valve for switching between loading and unloading of waste oil makes operation quick and easy. Large Capacity Waste Oil Tanks With tank volumes from 70 to 320 gallons, and anything in between, a number of waste oil capacities can be configured to suit a variety of needs. Our bigger lubrication bodies include either a single tank (up to 320 gallons) or dual self-balancing tanks (up to 640 gallons) for increased capacity. Oil Collection Points Prevent Oil Spills Off The Truck Each ORO lubrication body incorporates a fully sealed floor pan, which will contain any oil spilled within the unit. Spilled oil on the floor drains into an integrated 22 gallon waste oil hold- ing tank built into the bumper. The workbench also contains an oil collection trough around its perimeter to collect lost oil from hoses and other components being repaired. Our bodies also incorporate a filter drain drawer to allow filters to fully drain all their oil into the waste system prior to recycling. Fully Integrated Waste Oil Recovery System The waste oil suction pump is connected to each oil collection point across the truck (bumper tank, filter drain drawer, workbench trough) and pumps waste oil from these reservoirs into the main waste tanks, virtually eliminating the risk of environmental contamination from accidental oil spills. The goal in any lubrication system is to eliminate manual handling of oils and with it, the chance for spills. 16 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK The ORO tote lube truck represents a complete shift in how lubrication service operations are run. Virtually eliminating wasted time spent transfering fluid on and off the truck. QUICK CHANGE, REMOVABLE OIL TOTES A revolutionary design that will save you time and money. Oro Design & Manufacturing Ltd. has pioneered a revolutionary lube truck design that allows operators to quickly change out the tanks and oil drums on a body with a forklift - no transfer pumping required. This presents a complete shift in how lubrication service operations are run, virtually eliminating wasted time spent transferring fluids on and off the truck. This is a problem made even worse in cold climates where cold, viscous oils further slow down the transfer process. Bodies can be designed to accept 1000 litre bulk oil polyethylene totes as well as 45 gallon drums, all of which can be used in conjunction with standard steel and aluminium fixed tanks. Easy Change-Out of Oil Totes and Drums By using on-site forklifts, totes and drums contained within the body can be removed and exchanged through access doors along the sides and rear of the body. To reload an empty lube truck requires about 10 minutes, instead of hours - eliminating wasted labour in your operation and saving you money. What’s more, there is no pumping of oils which can be a source of leaks and environmental contamination - only the movement of sealed containers which are much safer to transport. Quick-Connect Removable Tote and Drum Lids. Each removable tote has a quickconnect aluminum lid, which contains all pumping and coolant heating lines for the tank. the lid includes a quick-lock vise closure, which securely fastens the 17 proprietary heating element and pump lid to the tank. Oil can be drawn either from a bottom fitting on a tote or through a down pipe from the top of a drum. Eliminate Oil CrossContamination Using removable oil totes and drums eliminates cross contamination which occurs when a tank is flushed out and changed over to a different grade of oil. The need for flushing and cleaning fixed tanks is also eliminated because each tote and drum is only used once and returned for recycling, reducing the amount of waste oil generated in the process. 18 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK COLD WEATHER SYSTEMS Heating systems keep fluids running through harsh Canadian winters. Harsh Canadian winters require heating systems to keep onboard fluids warm and give technicians a comfortable work environment protected from the elements. Oro lubrication bodies incorporate a number of heating and insulating features to ensure cold winter weather does not slow your operation down. Fully Spray Foam Insulated, Enclosed Bodies As a standard, ORO lube bodies are fully enclosed to protect onboard oils from extreme cold temperatures, which can make pumping of oils slow and difficult. The walls, floor, ceiling, and doors of the body are sprayed with 2” of closed cell urethane foam insulation to provide a fully sealed and protected space for onboard fluids and the technicians working in the elements. Warm oil means efficiency, as cold fluids significantly increase oil transfer times and the cost of running lubrication service operations in the winter months. The ORO Winterized Reel Module Our winterized reel module design keeps hose reels, pumps, and air lines inside the body, protected from the cold outside. Instead of placing reels inside a compartment exposed to the elements, all components are installed within the insulated shell of the body. Hoses pass through fairlead openings in the reel module bulkhead, creating a protective barrier between equipment inside the body and the outside. Fully Heated Air System All air systems are contained inside the heated body, which helps prevent moisture build up and freezing inside air lines and oil pumps during the winter months. Multiple Tank Heating Options A number of heating options for fluids exist, including in-tank coolant heating coils and in-tank electric heaters. A shore power plug-in allows the technician to plug the truck in overnight and keep the tanks heated using electric heaters. Auxiliary diesel-fired coolant heaters can also be installed to circulate heated coolant through the tanks and engine block, maintaining a specified coolant temperature to prevent cold starts or to supplement engine heat on very cold days. Electric and Coolant Fan Heaters Heaters are installed throughout the inside of the body and reel compartment to maintain a comfortable working environment for technicians while on site. These heaters can be run using heat from the chassis engine, via electric power, or off an auxiliary diesel fired coolant heater. All air systems are contained inside the heated body, which helps prevent moisture build up and freezing inside air lines and oil pumps during the cold winter months. 19 20 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK With the chassis turned off and the much smaller EnPak® engine running in its place, you can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%. 21 POWER SYSTEMS Making your lube truck both reliable and cost-effective. When designing your lubrication body, Oro Design offers several options to run both the hydraulic and air systems onboard the truck. Based on the application, systems can be powered by a traditional pump & PTO, or by using either a hydraulic power unit or electric generator to run all pumps, heaters, and the air compressor. A wide range of combinations have been used successfully on custom trucks we have built, giving us the experience and know-how to make your lube truck power system both reliable and cost-effective. idle while in use, which means wear and tear on the truck engine and poor fuel economy. Hydraulic power units like the Miller EnPak® have the advantage of supplying all the required hydraulic, air and electrical power required to run onboard systems from its combination hydraulic pump, generator, inverter, and air compressor. With the chassis turned off and the much smaller EnPak® engine running in its place, you can reduce fuel consumption of the vehicle by up to 30% as well as chassis maintenance costs due to idling. Hydraulic Power Units or Power Take-Offs (PTO) Fully Equipped Air System Both Pump & PTO or hydraulic power units are available for powering hydraulic air compressors and pumps (if required). PTOs provide higher pump flow rates but require the chassis to fully filtered & lubricated air, and an air hose reel alongside the oil dispensing reels for air tool use. The unit can also be outfitted with a stand-alone diesel drive compressor to power all systems onboard without the need for hydraulic power from the chassis. ORO lubrication bodies are equipped with either a 46 or 110 CFM hydraulic drive, 2-stage compressors (or 60 CFM screw compressor on the EnPak ®), one or two 35 gallon high-capacity air reservoirs, 22 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS To help keep technicians safe and efficient. All electrical systems are fully integrated into every ORO body using automotive industry standard components and practices. Front and mid-junction panels feed power to the systems throughout the body via a loomed wiring harness, which uses automotive connectors and sealed and heat-shrunk joints. A number of electrical accessories and lighting options can be added to our bodies to help keep your field service teams safe and efficient when they go to work. LED Lighting - Standard. ORO lighting packages make full use of LED lighting for nearly all applications to reduce power consumption and to extend bulb service life, significantly reducing the need for expensive bulb changes. Full Selection of Lighting Options We offer a full range of work lights, flood lights, interior lights, and amber warning lighting that can all be factory installed and configured based on your unique requirements. Ample work site lighting on the truck makes night shift work safer, as well as during the winter months when day light hours are minimal and work still has to get done. Electrical Accessories for Any Job You Come Across Oro Design offers a full range of electrical systems and accessories for a variety of applications. Our ORO 12/24 Volt boosting system can get even the coldest machines started in the middle of winter. Lube bodies can be upfitted with inverters (up to 6,000 Watts), backup cameras for added safety, and even electrical generators to supply more demanding power requirements while on site. All of these systems are integrated into the vehicle’s custom-built wiring harness to ensure trouble-free operation. ORO lighting packages make full use of LED lighting to reduce power consumption and to extend bulb service life. 23 24 ANATOMY OF AN ORO LUBRICATION TRUCK An ORO fuel-lube body incorporates a number of best-in-class safety features to ensure that your operators are always covered. COMBINATION FUEL AND LUBRICATION BODIES A true work horse for large remote sites. A Standard Package Designed with all the Bells and Whistles An ORO fuel-lube truck is designed from the ground up to perform by combining our market-leading lubrication body with a fuel tank designed for service in harsh conditions. Tanks are available in both steel and aluminum construction with capacities up to 5,000 gallons for conventional chassis and 8,000 gallons on articulated chassis. All fuel tanks are spring mounted with a composite isolation strip between the truck and tank frames to withstand off-road use. All fuel tanks also come standard with fully welded steel fenders over the axles as well as rollover protection rails along the top of the tank to protect the man holes from damage in the event of a rollover. Our basic fuel-lube package also includes a heavy-duty rear push bumper and tow hooks, underbody toolboxes, and a choice of either front or rear access ladder. operators are always covered. To start, the top walkway of every tank is raised and grated using an aluminum safety-tread walkway to ensure a firm footing when working on top of the tank. Additionally, an air-operated fold up safety rail is installed along both sides of the tank to provide a tie off point when working above the tank. The safety rail and fuel pumps are both interlocked with the truck’s brakes. When the driver disengages the brakes on the job site the safety rail is automatically lowered and the pumps are deactivated, eliminating the possibility of the pump running while the truck is in motion. Optionally, an inline safety check valve can be installed on the primary fuel discharge line from the tank. In the event of an accident severing the fuel line to the reels, the safety check valve will shut off all fuel flow from the tank, preventing a spill. Fuel reels can be either electric or air powered and can include a variety of dispensing nozzles to meet your specific site requirements. Multiple dispensing reels can be installed with multiple flow rates (i.e. one high flow and one low flow reel). Fuel pumps are available in either hydraulic drive or PTO drive and fuel loading can be accomplished through either a top load or bottom load valve. Our enclosed fuel reel compartment brings all systems together into a sealed and insulated cabinet, providing protection from dust, dirt and cold climates.
