NATCO Hiperfilter high efficiency, deep multi-bed filtration
Hiperfilter SFX Multi-Media Filter NATCO Hiperfilter high efficiency, deep multi-bed filtration at high flux rates. Introduction The Serck Baker Hiperfilter has been associated with high efficiency filtration for more than 25 years. Now part of the NATCO range, the Hiperfilter SFX continues to set the standard. The enviable reference list includes over 200 projects for onshore, offshore, fixed and floating oil and gas production platforms, refineries, petrochemical plants and potable water supply. NATCO’s Hiperfilters, SFX, DFX and VFX can be found working efficiently in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and the Far East. High Efficiency Offering high efficiency, deep multi-bed filtration at very high filtration flux rates, NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX are specifically designed to provide long, reliable service over a wide range of operating conditions. NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX has been designed to meet and exceed the theoretical efficiencies of an upflow filter with the additional advantage of being able to operate at much higher fluxes. The result is a more compact and robust unit. Large grain size, low density upper media is combined with a small grain size, density lower media to give true “in depth” filtration. NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX triple media filter offers all the benefits of the Hiperfilter SFX dual media filter, specifically for applications with high solids loadings. The design of the proprietary upper and lower distribution/collection systems eliminates filter dead spots and the problems of mudballing, channelling, poor water/effluent quality and media Issue 1 July 2002 Page 1840-A1 loss, often found in lesser designs. Because of the flexibility within the design of the filters, the units can be configured to achieve water qualities with removal efficiency of up to 98% at 2µm. Low Operating Costs and a Safer Working Environment Because of the inherent reliability and efficiency of NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX, chemical requirements are minimized, downtime is reduced and a low level of operator assistance is needed. This substantially reduces overall operating costs and offers a safer working environment. Lightweight Media Filters NATCO’s Hiperfilter SFX give a 30% plus weight saving over conventional filters and are designed for applications where space and weight are at a premium, such as offshore platforms. The Hiperfilter SFX Lightweight media filter design can be offered on new applications and can also be utilised to upgrade existing installations where increased capacity is required, without the addition of further vessels. Oily Water Treatment Where produced water is to be treated onshore, for reinjection into the oil reservoir or where the water is to be disposed of into an environmentally sensitive area, the Hiperfilter SFX can be used for polishing. NATCO has a large number of such units in operation achieving free oil levels of below 5ppm at the outlet. Alternatively NATCO’s PowerClean Nutshell filter can be considered for this duty (see separate brochure). The backwashing sequence is precision controlled by an NATCO programmed PLC Hiperfilter SFX Multi-Media Filter Flexible Configurations horizontal filters offer the customer a flexibility in configuration to meet their specific needs. On large capacity applications, typically over 300,000 bpd, approximately 2,000m3/hr, where large banks of vertical filters would be impractical, horizontal filters are available. Engineered on the same principles, high standards and efficiencies of NATCO’s vertical filters, and Super Duplex Stainless Steel, Titanium or 254 6Mo, making them ideally suited for the harshest of environments. A Choice of Materials NATCO filters are available in a wide range of materials.
