INTRODUCTION ON ATV
An All-terrain vehicles (ATV) also known as a quad, quad bike, three wheeler or four wheeler or RZR is
defined by American national standard institute (ANSI) as a vehicle that travel on low pressure tyre, with a
seat that is straddled by the operator along with handle bars for steering controls, it is designed to handled
a wide variety of terrains, the most other vehicles.
The use of atv for recreation
and other outdoor activities is a
relatively recent phenomenon,
extending primarily across
the last three decades. Atv are
popular and becoming more
so, since 1990, quad(class1)
and off road motorcycle (class
3) atv, has increased more than
400 percent.Our seven motors

The ATV cannot claim a history as deep as long as motorcycle but it certainly rouses the passion
of owners and raiders everywhere. The ATV first emerged in the 1960s referred to amphibious 6
wheelers like the jigarin 1961, the amphicat manufactured in the late 1960s and tera tiger. The original
vehicle was attached to 6-wheelers.
The first ATV as we know it emerged as of three
wheelers. The spery rand tricat was designed
in 1967 and manufactured in 1968, it was the
Honda ATC that made three wheelers as house
hold name and setup the path for atv in now-adays .

THE POLARIS SPORTMAN XP 100 EPS 4X4
Simply put, the 2015 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 EPS 4x4 is a beast of a machine. With 1000cc of thumping
twin cylinder horsepower being laid down by the fuel injected engine, the Sportsman has enough grunts
to go wherever the bars are pointed. The Sportsman is as fast and
powerful in my seat-of-the-pants testing as any big bore 4x4 quad
I've thrown a leg over.
While the massive power plant is the heart of the 2015
Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 EPS 4x4, the chassis would
have to be its soul. Like all Sports mans, the suspension
is Cadillac plush. At slow crawling or even fast-paced
trail speed, the big 4x4's four wheel independent
suspension swallows ruts, rocks, roots, and downed
trees as good as Baba Booey demolishes cupcakes.
I was able to find the bottom of the bump stops
at high speed, but I think the average rider would
never ride that hard or be as comfortable stabbing
trail obstacles as our crew here at.
6
www.sevenmotors.in
T
he On-Demand True AWD
utilized on every Polaris is
exceptionally easy to engage/
disengage and it really takes the
guesswork out of when to enable it. I
prefer running in 2wd 99% of the time
because I love to steer the machine
with the throttle. The engine is big and
gnarly, and two-wheel drive allows
it to drifted with ease. However, in
low-traction situations, engaging the
AWD system enables the Sportsman
to send power automatically to the
front end when it senses tire slippage.
The system operates independently
and invisibly and is so good that it
sometimes seems more like voodoo
magic than mechanical engineering.
One of my favorite Polaris features
is the Electric Power Steering (EPS).
I think Polaris' EPS settings provide
the most power assist in the category,
which makes low speed performance
on tight, gnarly trails absolutely stellar.
With the front rack loaded down with
weight on the farm or during a hunt,
the EPS performance is outstanding
as well. On the showroom floor, an
EPS equipped Sportsman's ability to
turn the bars with one finger will help
sell itself, and even stand out over
competitive models. At high speeds,
the EPS front end can get a bit twitchy
with a bit too much assist. Topping
my wish list for Polaris would be to
equip EPS models with tunable assist,
allowing the rider to dial EPS settings
up or down depending on trails
conditions.

The painted plastic bodywork on Polaris models provides an impeccable finish and ironically, they hold up
really well to abuse from the elements, as well as resist scratching. After a day in the mud, a pressure washer
and a few squirts of Simple Green returned to plastic to a shiny black finished.
The seat is possibly the most comfortable in the segment, and ergonomically, the controls fit my 6'2" frame like
a glove. I should probably complain about the single lever braking because it's certainly not my preference...
but I won't. It's seems as though Polaris owners seem to like this feature and Polaris appears they will staythe-course by not offering separate controls for the front and rear brakes. They do provide a foot control for
the rear brakes on all models, but I feel the rears perform better and provide more accurate feedback with the
hand control than they do with the foot control.
The 2015 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 EPS 4x4 is likely not for everyone. It's expensive and packs a real kick
in the pants that is not suited for beginners. But, I don't see the monster Polaris working the farm, plowing
snow, or hauling a trophy buck out of the woods any better than say, a Sportsman 570. The 1000 class is for
buyers who want the 1000 because it's the most badass machine Polaris offers. It's no different than people
lining up in droves to buy the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Who needs a 700hp street car they say? I'll tell you
who needs that 700hp.....the same genre of buyers that need a Sportsman 1000...that's who! Agree or disagree
with my analysis, that's your prerogative. But, it's tough to argue that the same set of logic and our ability to
choose what you want is what makes this country the greatest place on the planet. If you "need" the power and
comfort only the Polaris Sportsman 1000 will satisfy, then buy one....you'll love it!

The 2015 Honda TRX90X hits the market
unchanged for the last several years. However, what
the littlest Honda ATV lacks in new bells, whistles,
or gizmos, it certainly makes up for by providing
years of trouble-free service for some lucky kid.
Powering the TRX90X is a super reliable air-cooled,
carbureted, single cylinder four-stroke hooked to
a four-speed manually foot-shifted transmission.
The auto clutch makes shifting simple while the
need to row through the gears gives little offroaders the experience of learning how to operate a
manual transmission without the complications of a
clutch. This gives little red excellent engine braking
characteristics to control downhill descents. The
2015 Honda TRX90X has ample power and enough
torque to climb steep hills or tricky sections with
gnarly terrain.
The front suspension is a single a-arm independent
design that, unlike some competitors, does a decent
job of maintaining proper suspension geometry as
the travel articulates through its range of motion.
However, a dual a-arm up front would certainly be
a welcome improvement. Out back, a solid rear axle
hooked to a single shock keeps the rear in check. For
my son Gavin, the suspension worked really well in
the tight, rock strewn terrain where we typically
wheel. Steering effort is very easy and doesn't require
EPS (Electric Power Steering), but it would be cool
for a company like Honda to be the first to integrate
it as an added safety feature for young kids.
Braking comes from a pair of front drums and
a single rear drum. Since none of the brakes are
hydraulic, occasional adjustments need to be made
to the cables as they stretch with use.
An electric starter makes firing the youth machine
effortless, although utilizing the choke until the
engine builds some heat is often necessary due to
the lack of EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection).
Out on the trails, the 2015 Honda TRX90X did an
excellent job taking my son wherever he wanted to
go. I distinctly remember him being apprehensive
about trying both an uphill and downhill section
strewn with fairly large sized rocks. I had the ability
to walk alongside him and "coach" him through
the areas that made him a little anxious. After a few
trips where he learned to feel more comfortable
by moving his body around on the quad to better
control it, he gained confidence in both the
TRX90X and his ability very quickly.
For those looking for an excellent youth ATV sized
north of the 50cc entry-level market, there aren't
a great deal of choices I would recommend. With
that said, the TRX90X gets the ATV Rider seal of
approval without reservation.

DESIGN
Chassis
A chassis consists of an internal framework that
supports a man-made object. It is analogous to an
animal’s skeleton. Chassis is a French term which
was initially used to denote the frame parts or basic
structure of the vehicle. It is the back bone of the
vehicle. A vehicle without body is called chassis.
An example of chassis is the under part of a motor
vehicle, consisting of the frame (on which the
body is mounted) with the wheels and machinery.
The design of a pleasure car chassis will be different than one for commercial vehicles because of the heavier
loads and constant work use. The components of a vehicle like a Power Plant, Transmission system, Axels,
Wheels and Tyres, Suspension, Controlling systems like Braking , Steering etc , and also electrical system parts
are mounted on the chassis frame. It is the main mounting for all the components including the body. So it is
also called as a carrying unit. The main components of a chassis are frame, engine or power plant, clutch, gear
box, U joint, propeller shaft and the differential.
Frame design:
The chassis is the component in charge of supporting
all other vehicle’s subsystems with the plus of taking
care of the driver safety at all time. The chassis design
need to be prepared for impacts created in any certain
crash or rollover. It must be strong and durable taking
always in account the weight distribution for a better
performance.
4130 Chrome Moly Steel is the best suitable material
so following it we selected it over 1018 Steel because
4130 Steel has a greater strength to weight ratio.
Along with material selection, tube diameter was
also taken into consideration. Different sizes of tube
were considered for the frame. It was decided to
create the Roll Cage using 1 inch OD and 3mm wall
thickness, 4130 Steel tubing as it was thought to be
more structurally sound than a larger diameter tube.

Suspension:
Suspension
is the system of
tires, tire air, springs, shock
absorbers and linkages that
connects a vehicle to its wheel
and allows relative motion b/w
two. Suspension system serve a
dual purpose-contributing to the
vehicle’s road holding/ handling
and braking for good active safety
and driving pleasure, and keeping
vehicle occupants comfortable
and a ride quality reasonably
well associated from road, noise,
bumps, and vibrations etc.
these goals are generally at odd’s so
the turning of suspension involves
finding the right compromise. It’s
is important for the suspension to
keep the road when in contact will
the road surface as much as possible,
because all the road or ground
forces acting on the vehicle do so
through the contact patches of the
tires. The suspension also protects
the vehicle itself and any cargo or
luggage from damage and wear. The
design of front and rear suspension
of a car may be different.
An early form of suspension on
OX-drawn carts had the platform
swing on iron attached to the
wheeled frame of the carriage. This
system remained the basis for all
suspension system remained the
basis for all suspension system
until the turn of the 19th century.
Obadiah Elliott registered the first
patent for a spring-suspension
vehicle-each wheel had two-durable
steel leaf spring on each side and
the body of the carriage was fixed
directly to the spring attached to
the axles.
ROLE OF SUSPENSION IN ATV
Think what Happens if the driver can’t control the ATV driving on a
rugged Terrain. To overcome this situation we need a suspension .
Suspension?
What is it ?
sounds cool.
The job of the ATV suspension is
to maximize the friction between
the tires and the road surfaces ,
to provide steering stability with
good handling and to ensure the
comfort of the passengers . A bump
in the road causes the wheel to
move up and down perpendicular
15
to the road surface , without an
intervening structure , all the
wheel’s vertical energy is transferred
to frame , which moves in the
same direction . In such a situation
the wheels can lose contact with
road completely . then , under
the downward force of gravity ,
the wheels can slam back into the
road surface . what you need is a
system that will absorb the energy
of the vertically accelerated wheel ,
allowing the frame and body to ride
undisturbed while the wheel follow
bombs in the road .

ON-ROAD ATVs
In many ways a quad is a great
form of transportation, not only
off road as we are used to but
on the road also. Quads are fuel
efficient, relatively easy to ride,
small enough to be easy to park,
cheaper than a car to purchase, and
best of all have acceleration that
even supercars struggle to match.
The problem is no manufacturers
have built quads for street use, not
in any volume anyway. There have
been a few concepts built from
BMW and Yamaha, and Can-arms
new Spyder is a similar concept.
But at this time there really hasn't
been a mass-produced ATV for
on-road use.
In the future as fuel prices
continue to rise and people seek
more efficient transportation,
the concept of using quads for
everyday transportation may be
embraced. This means that if you
want to ride a ATV on the road you
have to modify an off-road ATV.
Modified street quads are
popular in other parts of the world,
so we traveled half way
around the world to
the United Kingdom to
bring you this report on
street quads.
The biggest problem in converting a
quad to street use is legislation, and
although some states in the US do
allow street quads, unfortunately
at this time many states prohibit
use of quads on public highways.
However in other parts of the world
21
street quads are the rage.
In Britain Street legal quads are
classed by the government as
small cars, and as long as they pass
a MOT (Ministry of Transport)
inspection from a certified testing
center they can be used on road.
This legislation has spawned a
new craze of converting standard
off-road quads to be used on the
street.
In recent years recreational off
road riding as all but disappeared
in the UK due to land use issues.
Street legal quads have eased
the damage this has done to the
British ATV industry. There is just
not enough unpopulated land on
the island and any open land is
usually either owned by farmers
or protected by the government as
“green belts”.
That being said, MX and Enduro
quad racing in the UK is still very
active. Although street quads are a
fairly efficient means of transport
in the UK they are still primarily
used for on-road recreation.

ATV
World in Leeds
has capitalized on this new and
growing market and is one of the
pioneers of this new part of the
ATV industry. Yamaha and E-Ton
have also caught on to the trend
and have a couple of models that
are road legal out of the crate. But
the majority of street quads ATV
World sell start life as off road units
and are converted to meet the road
legal specifications.
The most popular street legal quad
ATV World sells is the
Yamaha
Raptor 700.
Mainly because it is a bit tamer
than the 450’s. The 450’s are pretty
much designed for racing and the
handling and power is a bit extreme
on the road. The 450’s engine also
have a nasty habit of grenading
themselves when rev’d hard for
longer periods. The Raptor 700 we
used for photos and a test ride is an
example of the most extreme quads
ATV World builds. No expense had
been spared in the transformation
of this Raptor. The suspension was
essentially super Moto spec with a
wider stance and stiffer springs
When it comes to street quads that
are used exclusively on the road the
suspension is one area that can be
greatly improved. The suspension
on most ATV’s is designed and built
with high ground clearance and
long travel to work well off road.
22
Off road suspension set up
however sits too high and is too
soft for serious on road use. ATV
World have lowered and widened
the suspension on the Raptor.
The suspension lowers the center
of gravity of the machine making
it more stable on the road and
reducing the body roll when
cornering.
The
modifications
include
different a-arms, axles and shocks
that give the ATV a lower center
of gravity and stiffer suspension.
This makes the ATV more stable
when cornering and the stiffer
suspension reduces body roll in
the corners. The ATV we rode
in Leeds featured Laeger wider
a-arms and road specification
ELKA shocks. The set-up is very
similar to a super Moto race setup.

Riding Impression:
The power of the Raptor was the biggest shock initially. Where I am used to riding similar machines at
4500 feet above sea level on sand or dirt, the ATV World Raptor at sea level with road tires felt very quick.
When riding aggressively, the Torque of the big thumper engine constantly tried to either wheelie or slides
the rear tires. The handling of the Raptor took some getting used to a solid rear axle on asphalt is not for
the faint hearted. We tried our hand a riding the ATV aggressively but driving on the crowded British
roads on the opposite side was a scary enough prospect without learning how to ride the quad. That’s my
excuse anyway!
One of ATV Worlds technicians, Ben “Raging Bull” Richmond, came out and showed us how the quad
should be ridden. He made it look as easy as he pitched the quad sideways into a corner and gracefully used
the throttle to control a slide all the way around.
The graceful display of sliding went on about a dozen times as I tried my hardest to capture the moment on
the old Canon. All was going well until the rear tires got warm and sticky, giving the quad traction midway
through a sideways corner. The result sent the quad straight off the road in the direction it was pointed in.
Luckily it was a low-speed incident and neither the rider nor quad were physically damaged in any way.

ATVs AND HUNTING
Ride where you can, then start walking
A
ll-terrain vehicles can be a
great tool for hunting, Not only
where I hunt, but across the nation, ATVs can be a huge help,
allowing you to hunt areas that
otherwise would be inaccessible. But to me, your four-wheeler is a tool for getting you
where you hunt, not as a tool
for actively hunting from.
You can greatly increase your
odds of success if you use your
wheeler to get you to areas that
you can glass, then do your
actual hunting—seeking and
approaching animals—on foot.
Or you can ride to the end of
the trail and take off walking to
get out beyond the heavily pres-
sured areas. You’ll be more successful and have a much better
experience. You want to actually
ride your ATV as little as possible because the more time you
spend riding it, the less effective
hunting time you have.
24
Then you can employ the ATV
for the role that I think it’s best
for: helping pack your game out
of the woods. I know that after
a long hike under a heavy backpack, I’m happy to see any tool
that will get me and my meat to
the trailhead.

2015 Honda foreman Rubicon
Many companies are really
starting to raise the bar for the
hard-working, hard-playing machines in the utility branch of
the off-roading department. If
you love options and want the
reliable reputation of the Honda
line, then you will be glad to learn
the company has stepped up its
ATV improvements as well. The

for your cargo are also plentiful
with this new design. The front
rack will carry 99 pounds, while
the rear will hold an incredible
187 pounds of cargo. With solid
tow ratings in the 1300-pound
mark, you shouldn’t have any
trouble getting gear to your
stand or trekking to your duck

trail or when you intend to work
the machine in the hot summer
months. Honda’s programmed
fuel injection gave us good throttle response as we tackled the
trails. Honda also claims the PFI
improved fuel economy by as
much as 12 percent, which was
evident as it seemed to sip slowly
at the fuel levels during our rides.
The new look of the Honda Rubicon is appealing and classy, yet
stays within the traditional feel of
a sporty-yet-workable machine
to bring it all together. The traditional bright red plastics help
the machine to stand out, and
with the rugged redesigned rack
system, hauling gear is easier.

2015 Can-Am Outlander
Bigger is not always better, but in
the case of Can-Am’s new 2015
Outlander 6X6 XT, we think it
could be. Although the technology
of a second set of rear axles isn’t
new, it’s definitely undergone
its fair share of changes over the
years. Throwing a leg over what
could be the best tool in the
proverbial ultra-mobile toolbox
was something we enjoyed—and
the possibilities of endless power
drew us in even further
The 2015 Can-Am Outlander
6X6 XT is powered by the massive fuel injected V-Twin by Rotax. Although you can get this
machine in a displacement of
650cc, our test model was the
larger 976cc engine, or what
Can-Am rounds up to 1000. This 976cc mill creates mild controllable power and seems tame
compared to our experience
with other Can-Am machines
using the same engine. Our assumption is that Can-Am had
adjusted the computer mapping
as well as the CVT belt-driven
26
clutching to better suit the customer who would use this machine more for work than trail
time (although it’s perfect for
both).
Make no mistake though, the
power does seem to come on
rather well as the RPM’s ramp
up. Fuel is supplied by twin Siemens VDO injectors and this engine pulls air through a 46mm
throttle body. Our concern right
off the bat was excessive fuel
consumption due to the extra
weight and axles, but after a good
day of use we still had plenty in
the tank. The CVT transmission
also has a very low low gear. This
worked well when the weight in
the bed began to increase.
www.sevenmotors.in
N
ow let’s look at the incredible
bed system out back on the 6X6.
When you think about hauling
heavy loads, Can-Am has made
sure you’re getting your moneys worth here. After dumping many heavy loads of freshly
cut, sap-filled pine into the bed
and transporting a half-pallet of
pavestone, we were convinced of
several things: The bed itself is
really tough, and when loaded we
were able to dump the bed with
a single tug on the release lever
(mounted right behind the driver’s right hip). The gas-shock-assisted dumping ability did seem
to be hindered slightly by the
weight in the bed, but with a capacity of 700 pounds we were expecting some kind of resistance.
Hook your tow ball into the receiver hitch and you can also tow
an amazing 1650 pounds. The bed will also adapt for many
different work situations. In just
seconds, we were able to transform our ride into a flatbed hauler. This works well when you
need to stack in a pallet of seed
or feed, or even a few bales of
hay for a quick run out to the
pasture. If you happen to work
your equipment during the rainy
days, the engineers at Can-Am
also offer a full hard top to cover the bed. This lockable bed top
has twin gas shocks to help lift
the cover. There are other bed
accessories as well, such as a set
of log bars and a tailgate extension for the longer loads. There’s
even a hidden second level to the
bed, and Can-Am offers a lower
storage dry box that, with a little
ice, could double as a small game
cooler. Sitting on the Can-Am Outlander is just like sitting on any other
machine of the same brand. The
6X6 feels slightly longer and, in
comparison, I’d say it feels more
like the Can-Am Outlander Max
family as the extra wheels are
barley noticeable. During our
trail ride the big 6X6 handled well
and the seating was extremely
comfortable. As we moved loads
of huge pine the Outlander 6X6
gave us confidence of full control.
Can-Am’s Tri-Mode DPS or Dynamic Power Steering included
on our 6X6 made our day much
easier and we found that with the
medium setting we were still able
to feel the trail and feel in control
of the machine. There were a few
times when we engaged all six
27
wheels while loaded, and I would
say the DPS Max setting would
be the right choice at that point.
It’s just good to know you have
that feature when the days get
long and you need 6-wheel drive. The beast weighs in at 1,135
pounds. To most riders, getting
into deep mud or wet ground with
that much weight may be scary.
but the 3000-pound WARN
winch on the front is ready if you
need it. The air intakes for both
the CVT transmission as well as
the engine are located as high as
possible underneath the skin of
the Outlander 6X6, so traversing those deep wet conditions
shouldn’t be an issue.

better handling. Likewise, the
twin balance shafts reduce the
massive single-cylinder vibrations, making for a smooth ride.
Our time on the trail with the new King Quad
took us up hills and down steep descents, and the
updated model has more than enough braking
power for such terrain. In addition, the rear
brakes are sealed, so water and mud won’t affect
them, and Suzuki claims the brakes should last as
long as the machine does.
The new King Quad features subtle changes to
the front plastics. The front bumper cover boasts
aesthetic adjustments that refine its look, though
the framework and overall structure remain the
same as in years past. Unfortunately, a large third
headlight is absent from the center of the bars.
Suzuki says that, in order to keep the costs down
on this big-bore machine, they had to sacrifice
the headlight. Though the additional light was
useful, especially when turning the handlebars to
see down a dark trail, the twin 30-watt halogen
headlights that remain provide ample illumination
and will suffice for most riders.

he front and rear rack space is painted with a
wrinkle finish, which provides extra grip for cargo,
and the racks are nearly as wide as the fenders, so
there’s ample room for gear. The front rack will
haul up to 66 pounds and the rear can manage
up to 132 pounds. The King Quad’s tow rate is set
at 992 pounds, and a ball hitch mount is included with the vehicle. Welded steel mounts on the
framework speed up the installation time if you
want to mount a winch to the front of the vehicle. The inclusion of power steering is a must-have
feature for any working or exploring utility
ATV. The KingQuad 750AXI that we tested was
equipped with KYB-brand electronic power steering, a marvelous addition that seems like a crime
to go without these days. Our slow pace on harsh
trails revealed just how important this feature is,
and the regressive steering assist kept us in control. Most ATVs get harder to steer as you engage
four-wheel drive, but the KingQuad’s power steering takes that stress out of the equation. 29

SAFTY AT WORK
ATVs were first introduced in the U.S. for agricultural use in the early 1980s. Over the past thirty years, ATVs
have grown increasingly popular recreationally and more recently, have become a valuable asset at work. With
more than 10 million in use, it is important to know the hazards associated with ATVs and how to operate
them safely.
Provide helmet and eye-protection for workers
and encourage the use of other personal
protective equipment (PPE)
• Identify and mark – and eliminate if possible
– hazards such as excavations, trenches, and
guy wires that might be present in specific
work environments, so they are easily seen and
avoided by workers on the job site
• Establish operating and maintenance policies
that follow manufacturer’s terrain guidelines,
specified hauling and towing capacity, and
passenger restrictions
• Provide employees access to hands-on training
by an ATV Safety Institute instructor or a
similarly qualified instructor
• Share responsibility with employees on the
practices detailed below
34
www.sevenmotors.in
Wear PPE including a helmet, eye-protection, long
pants, and sturdy boots
• Participate in hands-on training in the safe
handling and operation of an ATV
• Conduct a pre-ride inspection of tires, brakes,
headlights, etc., and follow employer’s maintenance
polices for upkeep of the ATV
• Understand how implements and attachments
may affect the stability and handling of the ATV
• Never exceed the manufacturer’s specified hauling
and towing capacity or weight limits and ensure
cargo is balanced, secured, and loaded on provided
racks
• Be aware of potential hazards such as trees, ruts,
rocks, streams and gullies, and follow
posted hazard warnings
• Drive at speeds safe for weather and terrain and
never operate ATVs on surfaces not designed for
ATVs such as paved roads and highways
• Never permit passengers on the ATV, unless the
ATV has an additional seat specifically designed to
carry them
• Never operate an ATV while under the influence
of drugs or alcohol

INSIDE CAMPUS
COLLEGE STUDENT DESIGN ALLTERRAIN VEHICLE
The vehicle is a two stroke, 250 cc, 12bhp. Engine of
Yezdi make and weight about 160 kg
A group of engineering student from the city have
attempted that so far big companies in the country
didn’t think of and have come up with an all-terrain
vehicle that is widely used in western countries.
The vehicle which is capable of negotiating any kind
of terrain like rocky, sandy or hilly is categorized by
its low pressure tyres, high ground clearance and
independent suspension.
It was done as a final year project by the Mechanical
Engineering student from Bharat Institute of
Engineering and Technology, Ibrahimpatnam, on
the outside of Hyderabad.
“We used a two-stroke, 250 cc, 12bhp engine of
Yezdi make and it is a single-seater weighing about
160kgs,” says Tejasvi Chunduri, a member of the
team. He says it can attain speed up to 80 kmph and
gives a mileage of 250kmpl. What makes it different
from the commercially available? All-terrain vehicles
in the west are that the manufacture cost of its design
is very low. “it cost us Rs. 60,000 and three months of
teamwork,” said Tejasvi.
CLASS 10 PASSOUT STUDENT BIKAL RAI BUILT AN ATV
19
years old class X passed
from government school Bikal Rai
launched his Semi Eco Friendly
Car today. He demonstrated his
car today on the National Highway
at 32 Mile between Singtam and
Gangtok. He started his work on
this project in January 2015. He
finished his project at the cost
of Rs. 40000 which he earned
himself through grass cutting in
field and repairing mechanical
equipments in his area. He was
unable to make a new engine
because of fewer resources and
brought a dead engine and gave
a life to dead engine to make this
project successful.

The above project is completed by Bikal Rai who is a dropout student after class X from government
school in Sikkim because of family problems. He dreams to study in science related institutions/ schools.
People around his residence at 32 Mile in East Sikkim are proud of him, be it rich or poor. He invented
this car on his own from assembling, wielding to finishing. No one has ever done it in Sikkim or entire
India given a background of Bikal Rai. It has been 8 months since he bought a t-shirt for himself. All
those money which he earned invested on this project after his families important requirements.
